SERVANTS, MASTERS, EMPLOYERS

Mt 24:45 Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord has made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season?
46 Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he comes shall find so doing.
47 Truly I say to you, That he shall make him ruler over all his goods.
48 But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delays his coming;
49 And shall begin to smite his fellow servants, and to eat and drink with the drunken;
50 The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looks not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of,
51 And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Lu 19:15 And it came to pass, that when he was returned, having received the kingdom, then he commanded these servants to be called to him, to whom he had given the money, that he might know how much every man had gained by trading.
16 Then came the first, saying, Lord, your pound has gained ten pounds.
17 And he said to him, Well, you good servant: because you have been faithful in a very little, have you authority over ten cities.
18 And the second came, saying, Lord, your pound has gained five pounds.

1 Cor 4:1 Let a man so account of us, as of the ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God.
2 Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.

7:20 Let every man abide in the same calling wherein he was called.
21 Are you called being a servant? care not for it: but if you may be made free, use it rather.
22 For he that is called in the Lord, being a servant, is the Lord’s freeman: likewise also he that is called, being free, is Christ’s servant.
23 You are bought with a price; be not you the servants of men.
24 Brothers, let every man, wherein he is called, therein abide with God.

Eph 6:5 Servants, be obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as to Christ;
6 Not with eye-service, as men pleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart;
7 With good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men:
8 Knowing that whatever good thing any man does, the same shall he receive of the Lord, whether he be bond or free.
9 And, you masters, do the same things to them, forbearing threatening: knowing that your Master also is in heaven; neither is there respect of persons with him.

Col 3:22 Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not with eye-service, as men pleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God;
23 And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not to men;
24 Knowing that of the Lord you shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for you serve the Lord Christ.
25 But he that does wrong shall receive for the wrong which he has done: and there is no respect of persons.

4:1 Masters, give to your servants that which is just and equal; knowing that you also have a Master in heaven.

1 Tim 6:1 Let as many servants as are under the yoke count their own masters worthy of all honor, that the name of God and his doctrine be not blasphemed.
2 And they that have believing masters, let them not despise them, because they are brothers; but rather do them service, because they are faithful and beloved, partakers of the benefit. These things teach and exhort.

Tit 2:9 Exhort servants to be obedient to their own masters, and to please them well in all things; not answering again;
10 Not purloining, but showing all good fidelity; that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Savior in all things.

Jas 5:1 Go to now, you rich men, weep and howl for your miseries that shall come on you.
2 Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are moth-eaten.
3 Your gold and silver is corroded; and the rust of them shall be a witness against you, and shall eat your flesh as it were fire. You have heaped treasure together for the last days.
4 Behold, the hire of the laborers who have reaped down your fields, which is of you kept back by fraud, cries: and the cries of them which have reaped are entered into the ears of the Lord of sabaoth.
5 You have lived in pleasure on the earth, and been wanton; you have nourished your hearts, as in a day of slaughter.
6 You have condemned and killed the just; and he does not resist you.

1 Pe 2:18 Servants, be subject to your masters with all fear; not only to the good and gentle, but also to the fraudulent.
19 For this is thank worthy, if a man for conscience toward God endure grief, suffering wrongfully.
20 For what glory is it, if, when you be buffeted for your faults, you shall take it patiently? but if, when you do well, and suffer for it, you take it patiently, this is acceptable with God.
21 For even hereunto were you called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow his steps:

Gen 24:1 And Abraham was old, and well stricken in age: and the LORD had blessed Abraham in all things.
2 And Abraham said to his oldest servant of his house, that ruled over all that he had, Put, I pray you, your hand under my thigh:

39:2 And the LORD was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian.
3 And his master saw that the LORD was with him, and that the LORD made all that he did to prosper in his hand.
4 And Joseph found grace in his sight, and he served him: and he made him overseer over his house, and all that he had he put into his hand.
5 And it came to pass from the time that he had made him overseer in his house, and over all that he had, that the LORD blessed the Egyptian’s house for Joseph’s sake; and the blessing of the LORD was on all that he had in the house, and in the field.
6 And he left all that he had in Joseph’s hand; and he knew not ought he had, save the bread which he did eat. And Joseph was a goodly person, and well favored.

Lev 19:13 You shall not defraud your neighbor, neither rob him: the wages of him that is hired shall not abide with you all night until the morning.

De 24:14 You shall not oppress an hired servant that is poor and needy, whether he be of your brothers, or of your strangers that are in your land within your gates:
15 At his day you shall give him his hire, neither shall the sun go down on it; for he is poor, and sets his heart on it: lest he cry against you to the LORD, and it be sin to you.

Job 31:13 If I did despise the cause of my manservant or of my maidservant, when they contended with me;
14 What then shall I do when God rises up? and when he visits, what shall I answer him?

Ps 123:2 Behold, as the eyes of servants look to the hand of their masters, and as the eyes of a maiden to the hand of her mistress; so our eyes wait on the LORD our God, until that he have mercy on us.

Pr 14:35 The king’s favor is toward a wise servant: but his wrath is against him that causes shame.

17:2 A wise servant shall have rule over a son that causes shame, and shall have part of the inheritance among the brothers.

19:10 Delight is not seemly for a fool; much less for a servant to have rule over princes.

25:13 As the cold of snow in the time of harvest, so is a faithful messenger to them that send him: for he refreshes the soul of his masters.

27:18 Whoever keeps the fig tree shall eat the fruit thereof: so he that waits on his master shall be honored.

29:12 If a ruler listen to lies, all his servants are wicked.

29:19 A servant will not be corrected by words: for though he understand he will not answer.

29:21 He that delicately brings up his servant from a child shall have him become his son at the length.

30:10 Accuse not a servant to his master, lest he curse you, and you be found guilty.

Ec 7:21 Also take no heed to all words that are spoken; lest you hear your servant curse you:

Jer 22:13 Woe to him that builds his house by unrighteousness, and his chambers by wrong; that uses his neighbor’s service without wages, and gives him not for his work;

Mal 1:6 A son honors his father, and a servant his master: if then I be a father, where is my honor? and if I be a master, where is my fear? said the LORD of hosts to you, O priests, that despise my name. And you say, Wherein have we despised your name?

3:5 And I will come near to you to judgment; and I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, and against the adulterers, and against false swearers, and against those that oppress the hireling in his wages, the widow, and the fatherless, and that turn aside the stranger from his right, and fear not me, said the LORD of hosts.
6 For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore you sons of Jacob are not consumed.
