Mt 11:27 All things are delivered to me of my
Father: and no man knows the Son, but the Father; neither
knows any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever
the Son will reveal him.
20:23 And he said to them,
You shall drink indeed of my cup, and be baptized with the
baptism that I am baptized with: but to sit on my right
hand, and on my left, is not my to give, but it shall be
given to them for whom it is prepared of my Father.
28:18 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, All power is
given to me in heaven and in earth. 19 Go you therefore,
and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the
Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
Lu
22:28 You are they which have continued with me in my
temptations. 29 And I appoint to you a kingdom, as my
Father has appointed to me; 30 That you may eat and drink
at my table in my kingdom, and sit on thrones judging the
twelve tribes of Israel.
Joh 1:14 And the Word
was made flesh, and dwelled among us, (and we beheld his
glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,)
full of grace and truth.
3:34 For he whom God has
sent speaks the words of God: for God gives not the Spirit
by measure to him. 35 The Father loves the Son, and has
given all things into his hand.
5:18 Therefore the
Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had
broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father,
making himself equal with God. 19 Then answered Jesus and
said to them, Truly, truly, I say to you, The Son can do
nothing of himself, but what he sees the Father do: for what
things soever he does, these also does the Son likewise.
20 For the Father loves the Son, and shows him all things
that himself does: and he will show him greater works than
these, that you may marvel. 21 For as the Father raises
up the dead, and vivifies them; even so the Son vivifies
whom he will. 22 For the Father judges no man, but has
committed all judgment to the Son: 23 That all men should
honor the Son, even as they honor the Father. He that honors
not the Son honors not the Father which has sent him. 26
For as the Father has life in himself; so has he given to
the Son to have life in himself; 27 And has given him
authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of
man.
6:37 All that the Father gives me shall come to
me; and him that comes to me I will in no wise cast out.
38 For I came down from heaven, not to do my own will, but
the will of him that sent me.
10:17 Therefore does my
Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might
take it again. 18 No man takes it from me, but I lay it
down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have
power to take it again. This commandment have I received of
my Father. 19 There was a division therefore again among
the Jews for these sayings.
10:29 My Father, which
gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to
pluck them out of my Father’s hand. 30 I and my Father
are one.
13:3 Jesus knowing that the Father had given
all things into his hands, and that he was come from God,
and went to God;
14:28 You have heard how I said to
you, I go away, and come again to you. If you loved me, you
would rejoice, because I said, I go to the Father: for my
Father is greater than I.
17:1 These words spoke
Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father,
the hour is come; glorify your Son, that your Son also may
glorify you: 2 As you have given him power over all
flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as you
have given him. 3 And this is life eternal, that they
might know you the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you
have sent. 4 I have glorified you on the earth: I have
finished the work which you gave me to do.
17:22 And
the glory which you gave me I have given them; that they may
be one, even as we are one: 23 I in them, and you in me,
that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may
know that you have sent me, and have loved them, as you have
loved me. 24 Father, I will that they also, whom you have
given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my
glory, which you have given me: for you loved me before the
foundation of the world.
Acts 2:34 For David
is not ascended into the heavens: but he said himself, The
Lord said to my Lord, Sit you on my right hand, 35 Until
I make your foes your footstool. 36 Therefore let all the
house of Israel know assuredly, that God has made the same
Jesus, whom you have crucified, both Lord and Christ.
5:30 The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom you
slew and hanged on a tree. 31 Him has God exalted with
his right hand to be a Prince and a Savior, for to give
repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.
1
Cor 3:21 Therefore let no man glory in men. For all
things are your’s; 22 Whether Paul, or Apollos, or
Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present,
or things to come; all are your’s; 23 And you are
Christ’s; and Christ is God’s.
8:5 For though there
be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, (as
there be gods many, and lords many,) 6 But to us there is
but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in
him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and
we by him.
11:3 But I would have you know, that the
head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is
the man; and the head of Christ is God.
15:24 Then
comes the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom
to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all
rule and all authority and power. 25 For he must reign,
till he has put all enemies under his feet. 26 The last
enemy that shall be destroyed is death. 27 For he has put
all things under his feet. But when he said all things are
put under him, it is manifest that he is excepted, which did
put all things under him. 28 And when all things shall be
subdued to him, then shall the Son also himself be subject
to him that put all things under him, that God may be all in
all.
2 Cor 11:24 Then comes the end, when he shall
have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when
he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.
25 For he must reign, till he has put all enemies under his
feet. 26 The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.
27 For he has put all things under his feet. But when he
said all things are put under him, it is manifest that he is
excepted, which did put all things under him. 28 And when
all things shall be subdued to him, then shall the Son also
himself be subject to him that put all things under him,
that God may be all in all.
Eph 1:3 Blessed be
the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed
us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in
Christ:
1:22 And has put all things under his feet,
and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,
23 Which is his body, the fullness of him that fills all in
all.
Php 2:9 Why God also has highly exalted
him, and given him a name which is above every name: 10
That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things
in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is
Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Heb 2:7
You made him a little lower than the angels; you crowned him
with glory and honor, and did set him over the works of your
hands: 8 You have put all things in subjection under his
feet. For in that he put all in subjection under him, he
left nothing that is not put under him. But now we see not
yet all things put under him.
1 Pe 1:3 Blessed
be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which
according to his abundant mercy has begotten us again to a
lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the
dead,
2 Pe 1:16 For we have not followed
cunningly devised fables, when we made known to you the
power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were
eyewitnesses of his majesty. 17 For he received from God
the Father honor and glory, when there came such a voice to
him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in
whom I am well pleased. 18 And this voice which came from
heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy mount.
Rev 2:26 And he that overcomes, and keeps my
works to the end, to him will I give power over the nations:
27 And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels
of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I
received of my Father.
Dan 7:13 I saw in the
night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came
with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days,
and they brought him near before him. 14 And there was
given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all
people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his
dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass
away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.
The Life and Prophecies of Jesus
Mt 2:3
When Herod the king had heard these things, he was troubled,
and all Jerusalem with him. 4 And when he had gathered
all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he
demanded of them where Christ should be born. 5 And they
said to him, In Bethlehem of Judaea: for thus it is written
by the prophet, 6 And you Bethlehem, in the land of Juda,
are not the least among the princes of Juda: for out of you
shall come a Governor, that shall rule my people Israel.
14 When he arose, he took the young child and his mother by
night, and departed into Egypt: 15 And was there until
the death of Herod: that it might be fulfilled which was
spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Out of Egypt have
I called my son.
3:1 In those days came John the
Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea, 2 And
saying, Repent you: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
3 For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Esaias,
saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare
you the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.
5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the
prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill. 18
For truly I say to you, Till heaven and earth pass, one
stroke or one pronunciation mark shall in no wise pass from
the law, till all be fulfilled.
12:15 But when Jesus
knew it, he withdrew himself from there: and great
multitudes followed him, and he healed them all; 16 And
charged them that they should not make him known: 17 That
it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the
prophet, saying, 18 Behold my servant, whom I have
chosen; my beloved, in whom my soul is well pleased: I will
put my spirit on him, and he shall show judgment to the
Gentiles. 19 He shall not strive, nor cry; neither shall
any man hear his voice in the streets. 20 A bruised reed
shall he not break, and smoking flax shall he not quench,
till he send forth judgment to victory. 21 And in his
name shall the Gentiles trust.
13:34 All these things
spoke Jesus to the multitude in parables; and without a
parable spoke he not to them: 35 That it might be
fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, I will
open my mouth in parables; I will utter things which have
been kept secret from the foundation of the world.
Lu 22:35 And he said to them, When I sent you without
purse, and money, and shoes, lacked you any thing? And they
said, Nothing. 36 Then said he to them, But now, he that
has a purse, let him take it, and likewise his money: and he
that has no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one.
37 For I say to you, that this that is written must yet be
accomplished in me, And he was reckoned among the
transgressors: for the things concerning me have an end.
38 And they said, Lord, behold, here are two swords. And he
said to them, It is enough.
24:25 Then he said to
them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the
prophets have spoken: 26 Ought not Christ to have
suffered these things, and to enter into his glory? 27
And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded to
them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.
32 And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn
within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he
opened to us the scriptures?
24:44 And he said to
them, These are the words which I spoke to you, while I was
yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were
written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the
psalms, concerning me. 45 Then opened he their
understanding, that they might understand the scriptures,
Joh 1:40 One of the two which heard John speak,
and followed him, was Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother. 41
He first finds his own brother Simon, and said to him, We
have found the Messias, which is, being interpreted, the
Christ. 42 And he brought him to Jesus. And when Jesus
beheld him, he said, You are Simon the son of Jona: you
shall be called Cephas, which is by interpretation, A stone.
43 The day following Jesus would go forth into Galilee, and
finds Philip, and said to him, Follow me. 44 Now Philip
was of Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter. 45 Philip
finds Nathanael, and said to him, We have found him, of whom
Moses in the law, and the prophets, did write, Jesus of
Nazareth, the son of Joseph.
2:13 And the Jews’
passover was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. 14
And found in the temple those that sold oxen and sheep and
doves, and the changers of money sitting: 15 And when he
had made a whip of small cords, he drove them all out of the
temple, and the sheep, and the oxen; and poured out the
changers’ money, and overthrew the tables; 16 And said to
them that sold doves, Take these things hence; make not my
Father’s house an house of merchandise. 17 And his
disciples remembered that it was written, The zeal of your
house has eaten me up.
4:25 The woman said to him, I
know that Messias comes, which is called Christ: when he is
come, he will tell us all things. 26 Jesus said to her, I
that speak to you am he.
5:37 And the Father himself,
which has sent me, has borne witness of me. You have neither
heard his voice at any time, nor seen his shape. 38 And
you have not his word abiding in you: for whom he has sent,
him you believe not. 39 Search the scriptures; for in
them you think you have eternal life: and they are they
which testify of me. 40 And you will not come to me, that
you might have life.
5:45 Do not think that I will
accuse you to the Father: there is one that accuses you,
even Moses, in whom you trust. 46 For had you believed
Moses, you would have believed me; for he wrote of me. 47
But if you believe not his writings, how shall you believe
my words?
6:14 Then those men, when they had seen the
miracle that Jesus did, said, This is of a truth that
prophet that should come into the world.
7:25 Then
said some of them of Jerusalem, Is not this he, whom they
seek to kill? 26 But, see, he speaks boldly, and they say
nothing to him. Do the rulers know indeed that this is the
very Christ? 27 However, we know this man from where he
is: but when Christ comes, no man knows from where he is.
31 And many of the people believed on him, and said, When
Christ comes, will he do more miracles than these which this
man has done?
7:40 Many of the people therefore, when
they heard this saying, said, Of a truth this is the
Prophet. 41 Others said, This is the Christ. But some
said, Shall Christ come out of Galilee? 42 Has not the
scripture said, That Christ comes of the seed of David, and
out of the town of Bethlehem, where David was? 43 So
there was a division among the people because of him.
19:23 Then the soldiers, when they had crucified Jesus,
took his garments, and made four parts, to every soldier a
part; and also his coat: now the coat was without seam,
woven from the top throughout. 24 They said therefore
among themselves, Let us not rend it, but cast lots for it,
whose it shall be: that the scripture might be fulfilled,
which said, They parted my raiment among them, and for my
clothing they did cast lots. These things therefore the
soldiers did.
19:32 Then came the soldiers, and broke
the legs of the first, and of the other which was crucified
with him. 33 But when they came to Jesus, and saw that he
was dead already, they broke not his legs: 34 But one of
the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and immediately
came there out blood and water. 35 And he that saw it
bore record, and his record is true: and he knows that he
said true, that you might believe. 36 For these things
were done, that the scripture should be fulfilled, A bone of
him shall not be broken. 37 And again another scripture
said, They shall look on him whom they pierced.
Acts 17:2 And Paul, as his manner was, went in to them,
and three sabbath days reasoned with them out of the
scriptures, 3 Opening and alleging, that Christ must
needs have suffered, and risen again from the dead; and that
this Jesus, whom I preach to you, is Christ. 4 And some
of them believed, and consorted with Paul and Silas; and of
the devout Greeks a great multitude, and of the chief women
not a few.
26:22 Having therefore obtained help of
God, I continue to this day, witnessing both to small and
great, saying none other things than those which the
prophets and Moses did say should come: 23 That Christ
should suffer, and that he should be the first that should
rise from the dead, and should show light to the people, and
to the Gentiles. 24 And as he thus spoke for himself,
Festus said with a loud voice, Paul, you are beside
yourself; much learning does make you mad. 25 But he
said, I am not mad, most noble Festus; but speak forth the
words of truth and soberness. 26 For the king knows of
these things, before whom also I speak freely: for I am
persuaded that none of these things are hidden from him; for
this thing was not done in a corner. 27 King Agrippa,
believe you the prophets? I know that you believe. 28
Then Agrippa said to Paul, Almost you persuade me to be a
Christian. 29 And Paul said, I would to God, that not
only you, but also all that hear me this day, were both
almost, and altogether such as I am, except these bonds.
28:23 And when they had appointed him a day, there came
many to him into his lodging; to whom he expounded and
testified the kingdom of God, persuading them concerning
Jesus, both out of the law of Moses, and out of the
prophets, from morning till evening. 24 And some believed
the things which were spoken, and some believed not.
1 Pe 1:10 Of which salvation the prophets have
inquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the
grace that should come to you: 11 Searching what, or what
manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did
signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of
Christ, and the glory that should follow. 12 To whom it
was revealed, that not to themselves, but to us they did
minister the things, which are now reported to you by them
that have preached the gospel to you with the Holy Ghost
sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to
look into.
2 Pe 1:19 We have also a more sure
word of prophecy; whereunto you do well that you take heed,
as to a light that shines in a dark place, until the day
dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts: 20 Knowing
this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any
private interpretation. 21 For the prophecy came not in
old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spoke as
they were moved by the Holy Ghost.
Gen 3:15
And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between
your seed and her seed; it shall bruise your head, and you
shall bruise his heel.
22:18 And in your seed shall
all the nations of the earth be blessed; because you have
obeyed my voice.
49:10 The scepter shall not depart
from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until
Shiloh come; and to him shall the gathering of the people
be. 11 Binding his foal to the vine, and his ass’s colt
to the choice vine; he washed his garments in wine, and his
clothes in the blood of grapes:
De 18:15 The
LORD your God will raise up to you a Prophet from the middle
of you, of your brothers, like to me; to him you shall
listen; 18 I will raise them up a Prophet from among
their brothers, like to you, and will put my words in his
mouth; and he shall speak to them all that I shall command
him. 19 And it shall come to pass, that whoever will not
listen to my words which he shall speak in my name, I will
require it of him.
1 Sam 2:35 And I will raise me up
a faithful priest, that shall do according to that which is
in my heart and in my mind: and I will build him a sure
house; and he shall walk before my anointed for ever.
12:3 Behold, here I am: witness against me before the
LORD, and before his anointed: whose ox have I taken? or
whose ass have I taken? or whom have I defrauded? whom have
I oppressed? or of whose hand have I received any bribe to
blind my eyes therewith? and I will restore it you. 4 And
they said, You have not defrauded us, nor oppressed us,
neither have you taken ought of any man’s hand. 5 And he
said to them, The LORD is witness against you, and his
anointed is witness this day, that you have not found ought
in my hand. And they answered, He is witness.
1 Ch
17:10 And since the time that I commanded judges to be over
my people Israel. Moreover I will subdue all your enemies.
Furthermore I tell you that the LORD will build you an
house. 11 And it shall come to pass, when your days be
expired that you must go to be with your fathers, that I
will raise up your seed after you, which shall be of your
sons; and I will establish his kingdom. 12 He shall build
me an house, and I will establish his throne for ever. 13
I will be his father, and he shall be my son: and I will not
take my mercy away from him, as I took it from him that was
before you: 14 But I will settle him in my house and in
my kingdom for ever: and his throne shall be established for
ever more. 15 According to all these words, and according
to all this vision, so did Nathan speak to David. 16 And
David the king came and sat before the LORD, and said, Who
am I, O LORD God, and what is my house, that you have
brought me till now? 17 And yet this was a small thing in
your eyes, O God; for you have also spoken of your servant’s
house for a great while to come, and have regarded me
according to the estate of a man of high degree, O LORD God.
Ps 2:1 Why do the heathen rage, and the people
imagine a vain thing? 2 The kings of the earth set
themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against
the LORD, and against his anointed, saying, 3 Let us
break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from
us. 4 He that sits in the heavens shall laugh: the LORD
shall have them in derision. 5 Then shall he speak to
them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure.
6 Yet have I set my king on my holy hill of Zion. 7 I
will declare the decree: the LORD has said to me, You are my
Son; this day have I begotten you. 8 Ask of me, and I
shall give you the heathen for your inheritance, and the
uttermost parts of the earth for your possession. 9 You
shall break them with a rod of iron; you shall dash them in
pieces like a potter’s vessel. 10 Be wise now therefore,
O you kings: be instructed, you judges of the earth. 11
Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling. 12
Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and you perish from the way,
when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they
that put their trust in him.
22:1 My God, my God, why
have you forsaken me? why are you so far from helping me,
and from the words of my roaring? 6 But I am a worm, and
no man; a reproach of men, and despised of the people. 7
All they that see me laugh me to scorn: they shoot out the
lip, they shake the head, saying, 8 He trusted on the
LORD that he would deliver him: let him deliver him, seeing
he delighted in him. 12 Many bulls have compassed me:
strong bulls of Bashan have beset me round. 13 They gaped
on me with their mouths, as a ravening and a roaring lion.
14 I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of
joint: my heart is like wax; it is melted in the middle of
my bowels. 15 My strength is dried up like a potsherd;
and my tongue sticks to my jaws; and you have brought me
into the dust of death. 16 For dogs have compassed me:
the assembly of the wicked have enclosed me: they pierced my
hands and my feet. 17 I may tell all my bones: they look
and stare on me. 18 They part my garments among them, and
cast lots on my clothing.
22:27 All the ends of the
world shall remember and turn to the LORD: and all the
kindreds of the nations shall worship before you. 28 For
the kingdom is the LORD’s: and he is the governor among the
nations. 29 All they that be fat on earth shall eat and
worship: all they that go down to the dust shall bow before
him: and none can keep alive his own soul. 30 A seed
shall serve him; it shall be accounted to the Lord for a
generation. 31 They shall come, and shall declare his
righteousness to a people that shall be born, that he has
done this.
45:1 My heart is gushing a good matter: I
speak of the things which I have made touching the king: my
tongue is the pen of a ready writer. 2 You are fairer
than the children of men: grace is poured into your lips:
therefore God has blessed you for ever. 6 Your throne, O
God, is for ever and ever: the scepter of your kingdom is a
right scepter. 7 You love righteousness, and hate
wickedness: therefore God, your God, has anointed you with
the oil of gladness above your fellows.
72:7 In his
days shall the righteous flourish; and abundance of peace so
long as the moon endures. 8 He shall have dominion also
from sea to sea, and from the river to the ends of the
earth. 9 They that dwell in the wilderness shall bow
before him; and his enemies shall lick the dust. 10 The
kings of Tarshish and of the isles shall bring presents: the
kings of Sheba and Seba shall offer gifts. 11 Yes, all
kings shall fall down before him: all nations shall serve
him. 12 For he shall deliver the needy when he cries; the
poor also, and him that has no helper. 13 He shall spare
the poor and needy, and shall save the souls of the needy.
14 He shall redeem their soul from deceit and violence: and
precious shall their blood be in his sight. 15 And he
shall live, and to him shall be given of the gold of Sheba:
prayer also shall be made for him continually; and daily
shall he be praised. 16 There shall be an handful of corn
in the earth on the top of the mountains; the fruit thereof
shall shake like Lebanon: and they of the city shall
flourish like grass of the earth. 17 His name shall
endure for ever: his name shall be continued as long as the
sun: and men shall be blessed in him: all nations shall call
him blessed.
110:1 The LORD said to my Lord, Sit you
at my right hand, until I make your enemies your footstool.
2 The LORD shall send the rod of your strength out of Zion:
rule you in the middle of your enemies. 4 The LORD has
sworn, and will not repent, You are a priest for ever after
the order of Melchizedek.
118:22 The stone which the
builders refused is become the head stone of the corner.
23 This is the LORD’s doing; it is marvelous in our eyes.
24 This is the day which the LORD has made; we will rejoice
and be glad in it. 25 Save now, I beseech you, O LORD: O
LORD, I beseech you, send now prosperity. 26 Blessed be
he that comes in the name of the LORD: we have blessed you
out of the house of the LORD.
Pr 8:12 I wisdom
dwell with prudence, and find out knowledge of witty
inventions. 13 The fear of the LORD is to hate evil:
pride, and arrogance, and the evil way, and the fraudulent
mouth, do I hate. 14 Counsel is mine, and sound wisdom: I
am understanding; I have strength. 15 By me kings reign,
and princes decree justice. 16 By me princes rule, and
nobles, even all the judges of the earth. 17 I love them
that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me.
18 Riches and honor are with me; yes, durable riches and
righteousness. 19 My fruit is better than gold, yes, than
fine gold; and my revenue than choice silver. 20 I lead
in the way of righteousness, in the middle of the paths of
judgment: 21 That I may cause those that love me to
inherit substance; and I will fill their treasures. 22
The LORD possessed me in the beginning of his way, before
his works of old. 23 I was set up from everlasting, from
the beginning, or ever the earth was. 24 When there were
no depths, I was brought forth; when there were no fountains
abounding with water. 25 Before the mountains were
settled, before the hills was I brought forth: 26 While
as yet he had not made the earth, nor the fields, nor the
highest part of the dust of the world. 27 When he
prepared the heavens, I was there: when he set a compass on
the face of the depth: 28 When he established the clouds
above: when he strengthened the fountains of the deep: 29
When he gave to the sea his decree, that the waters should
not pass his commandment: when he appointed the foundations
of the earth: 30 Then I was by him, as one brought up
with him: and I was daily his delight, rejoicing always
before him; 31 Rejoicing in the habitable part of his
earth; and my delights were with the sons of men. 32 Now
therefore listen to me, O you children: for blessed are they
that keep my ways. 33 Hear instruction, and be wise, and
refuse it not. 34 Blessed is the man that hears me,
watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my
doors. 35 For whoever finds me finds life, and shall
obtain favor of the LORD. 36 But he that sins against me
wrongs his own soul: all they that hate me love death.
30:4 Who has ascended up into heaven, or descended? who
has gathered the wind in his fists? who has bound the waters
in a garment? who has established all the ends of the earth?
what is his name, and what is his son’s name, if you can
tell? 5 Every word of God is pure: he is a shield to them
that put their trust in him.
Isa 7:14
Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a
virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his
name Immanuel.
8:13 Sanctify the LORD of hosts
himself; and let him be your fear, and let him be your
dread. 14 And he shall be for a sanctuary; but for a
stone of stumbling and for a rock of offense to both the
houses of Israel, for a gin and for a snare to the
inhabitants of Jerusalem. 15 And many among them shall
stumble, and fall, and be broken, and be snared, and be
taken.
9:1 Nevertheless the dimness shall not be such
as was in her vexation, when at the first he lightly
afflicted the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, and
afterward did more grievously afflict her by the way of the
sea, beyond Jordan, in Galilee of the nations. 2 The
people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they
that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, on them has
the light shined.
9:6 For to us a child is born, to
us a son is given: and the government shall be on his
shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor,
The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
7 Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be
no end, on the throne of David, and on his kingdom, to order
it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from
now on even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will
perform this.
11:1 And there shall come forth a rod
out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his
roots: 2 And the spirit of the LORD shall rest on him,
the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of
counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear
of the LORD; 3 And shall make him of quick understanding
in the fear of the LORD: and he shall not judge after the
sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his
ears: 4 But with righteousness shall he judge the poor,
and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and he
shall smite the earth: with the rod of his mouth, and with
the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked. 5 And
righteousness shall be the girdle of his loins, and
faithfulness the girdle of his reins. 10 And in that day
there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an
ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his
rest shall be glorious.
28:16 Therefore thus said the
Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a
tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he
that believes shall not make haste.
40:3 The voice of
him that cries in the wilderness, Prepare you the way of the
LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God.
4 Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill
shall be made low: and the crooked shall be made straight,
and the rough places plain: 5 And the glory of the LORD
shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together: for
the mouth of the LORD has spoken it.
40:9 O Zion,
that bring good tidings, get you up into the high mountain;
O Jerusalem, that bring good tidings, lift up your voice
with strength; lift it up, be not afraid; say to the cities
of Judah, Behold your God! 10 Behold, the Lord GOD will
come with strong hand, and his arm shall rule for him:
behold, his reward is with him, and his work before him.
11 He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather
the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and
shall gently lead those that are with young.
41:2 Who
raised up the righteous man from the east, called him to his
foot, gave the nations before him, and made him rule over
kings? he gave them as the dust to his sword, and as driven
stubble to his bow.
41:27 The first shall say to
Zion, Behold, behold them: and I will give to Jerusalem one
that brings good tidings.
42:1 Behold my servant,
whom I uphold; my elect, in whom my soul delights; I have
put my spirit on him: he shall bring forth judgment to the
Gentiles. 2 He shall not cry, nor lift up, nor cause his
voice to be heard in the street. 3 A bruised reed shall
he not break, and the smoking flax shall he not quench: he
shall bring forth judgment to truth. 4 He shall not fail
nor be discouraged, till he have set judgment in the earth:
and the isles shall wait for his law. 5 Thus said God the
LORD, he that created the heavens, and stretched them out;
he that spread forth the earth, and that which comes out of
it; he that gives breath to the people on it, and spirit to
them that walk therein: 6 I the LORD have called you in
righteousness, and will hold your hand, and will keep you,
and give you for a covenant of the people, for a light of
the Gentiles; 7 To open the blind eyes, to bring out the
prisoners from the prison, and them that sit in darkness out
of the prison house. 8 I am the LORD: that is my name:
and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise
to graven images. 9 Behold, the former things are come to
pass, and new things do I declare: before they spring forth
I tell you of them.
45:14 Thus said the LORD, The
labor of Egypt, and merchandise of Ethiopia and of the
Sabeans, men of stature, shall come over to you, and they
shall be yours: they shall come after you; in chains they
shall come over, and they shall fall down to you, they shall
make supplication to you, saying, Surely God is in you; and
there is none else, there is no God. 15 Truly you are a
God that hide yourself, O God of Israel, the Savior.
45:22 Look to me, and be you saved, all the ends of the
earth: for I am God, and there is none else. 23 I have
sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth in
righteousness, and shall not return, That to me every knee
shall bow, every tongue shall swear. 24 Surely, shall one
say, in the LORD have I righteousness and strength: even to
him shall men come; and all that are incensed against him
shall be ashamed. 25 In the LORD shall all the seed of
Israel be justified, and shall glory.
46:13 I bring
near my righteousness; it shall not be far off, and my
salvation shall not tarry: and I will place salvation in
Zion for Israel my glory.
48:16 Come you near to me,
hear you this; I have not spoken in secret from the
beginning; from the time that it was, there am I: and now
the Lord GOD, and his Spirit, has sent me.
49:5 And
now, said the LORD that formed me from the womb to be his
servant, to bring Jacob again to him, Though Israel be not
gathered, yet shall I be glorious in the eyes of the LORD,
and my God shall be my strength. 6 And he said, It is a
light thing that you should be my servant to raise up the
tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of Israel: I
will also give you for a light to the Gentiles, that you may
be my salvation to the end of the earth. 7 Thus said the
LORD, the Redeemer of Israel, and his Holy One, to him whom
man despises, to him whom the nation abhors, to a servant of
rulers, Kings shall see and arise, princes also shall
worship, because of the LORD that is faithful, and the Holy
One of Israel, and he shall choose you. 8 Thus said the
LORD, In an acceptable time have I heard you, and in a day
of salvation have I helped you: and I will preserve you, and
give you for a covenant of the people, to establish the
earth, to cause to inherit the desolate heritages;
50:4 The Lord GOD has given me the tongue of the learned,
that I should know how to speak a word in season to him that
is weary: he wakens morning by morning, he wakens my ear to
hear as the learned. 5 The Lord GOD has opened my ear,
and I was not rebellious, neither turned away back. 6 I
gave my back to the smiters, and my cheeks to them that
plucked off the hair: I hid not my face from shame and
spitting. 7 For the Lord GOD will help me; therefore
shall I not be confounded: therefore have I set my face like
a flint, and I know that I shall not be ashamed. 8 He is
near that justifies me; who will contend with me? let us
stand together: who is my adversary? let him come near to
me. 9 Behold, the Lord GOD will help me; who is he that
shall condemn me? see, they all shall wax old as a garment;
the moth shall eat them up.
51:5 My righteousness is
near; my salvation is gone forth, and my arms shall judge
the people; the isles shall wait on me, and on my arm shall
they trust.
52:7 How beautiful on the mountains are
the feet of him that brings good tidings, that publishes
peace; that brings good tidings of good, that publishes
salvation; that said to Zion, Your God reigns! 8 Your
watchmen shall lift up the voice; with the voice together
shall they sing: for they shall see eye to eye, when the
LORD shall bring again Zion. 9 Break forth into joy, sing
together, you waste places of Jerusalem: for the LORD has
comforted his people, he has redeemed Jerusalem. 10 The
LORD has made bare his holy arm in the eyes of all the
nations; and all the ends of the earth shall see the
salvation of our God.
52:13 Behold, my servant shall
deal prudently, he shall be exalted and extolled, and be
very high. 14 As many were astonished at you; his visage
was so marred more than any man, and his form more than the
sons of men: 15 So shall he sprinkle many nations; the
kings shall shut their mouths at him: for that which had not
been told them shall they see; and that which they had not
heard shall they consider. 53:1 Who has believed our
report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed? 2
For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a
root out of a dry ground: he has no form nor comeliness; and
when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should
desire him. 3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man
of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were
our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him
not. 4 Surely he has borne our griefs, and carried our
sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and
afflicted. 5 But he was wounded for our transgressions,
he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our
peace was on him; and with his stripes we are healed. 6
All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one
to his own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of
us all. 7 He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he
opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the
slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he
opens not his mouth. 8 He was taken from prison and from
judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was
cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression
of my people was he stricken. 9 And he made his grave
with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he
had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth.
10 Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he has put him to
grief: when you shall make his soul an offering for sin, he
shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the
pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand. 11 He
shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be
satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant
justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities. 12
Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he
shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he has
poured out his soul to death: and he was numbered with the
transgressors; and he bore the sin of many, and made
intercession for the transgressors.
55:1 Ho, every
one that thirsts, come you to the waters, and he that has no
money; come you, buy, and eat; yes, come, buy wine and milk
without money and without price. 2 Why do you spend money
for that which is not bread? and your labor for that which
satisfies not? listen diligently to me, and eat you that
which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness.
3 Incline your ear, and come to me: hear, and your soul
shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with
you, even the sure mercies of David. 4 Behold, I have
given him for a witness to the people, a leader and
commander to the people. 5 Behold, you shall call a
nation that you know not, and nations that knew not you
shall run to you because of the LORD your God, and for the
Holy One of Israel; for he has glorified you.
56:1
Thus said the LORD, Keep you judgment, and do justice: for
my salvation is near to come, and my righteousness to be
revealed.
60:1 Arise, shine; for your light is come,
and the glory of the LORD is risen on you. 2 For, behold,
the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the
people: but the LORD shall arise on you, and his glory shall
be seen on you.
61:1 The Spirit of the Lord GOD is on
me; because the LORD has anointed me to preach good tidings
to the meek; he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to
proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the
prison to them that are bound; 2 To proclaim the
acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our
God; to comfort all that mourn; 3 To appoint to them that
mourn in Zion, to give to them beauty for ashes, the oil of
joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of
heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness,
the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.
62:11 Behold, the LORD has proclaimed to the end of the
world, Say you to the daughter of Zion, Behold, your
salvation comes; behold, his reward is with him, and his
work before him.
63:9 In all their affliction he was
afflicted, and the angel of his presence saved them: in his
love and in his pity he redeemed them; and he bore them, and
carried them all the days of old.
66:7 Before she
travailed, she brought forth; before her pain came, she was
delivered of a man child. 8 Who has heard such a thing?
who has seen such things? Shall the earth be made to bring
forth in one day? or shall a nation be born at once? for as
soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children.
Jer 23:5 Behold, the days come, said the LORD,
that I will raise to David a righteous Branch, and a King
shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and
justice in the earth. 6 In his days Judah shall be saved,
and Israel shall dwell safely: and this is his name whereby
he shall be called, THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.
33:14
Behold, the days come, said the LORD, that I will perform
that good thing which I have promised to the house of Israel
and to the house of Judah. 15 In those days, and at that
time, will I cause the Branch of righteousness to grow up to
David; and he shall execute judgment and righteousness in
the land. 16 In those days shall Judah be saved, and
Jerusalem shall dwell safely: and this is the name with
which she shall be called, The LORD our righteousness.
Eze 34:23 And I will set up one shepherd over
them, and he shall feed them, even my servant David; he
shall feed them, and he shall be their shepherd. 24 And I
the LORD will be their God, and my servant David a prince
among them; I the LORD have spoken it.
37:24 And
David my servant shall be king over them; and they all shall
have one shepherd: they shall also walk in my judgments, and
observe my statutes, and do them. 25 And they shall dwell
in the land that I have given to Jacob my servant, wherein
your fathers have dwelled; and they shall dwell therein,
even they, and their children, and their children’s children
for ever: and my servant David shall be their prince for
ever.
Dan 2:22 He reveals the deep and secret
things: he knows what is in the darkness, and the light
dwells with him.
3:24 Then Nebuchadnezzar the king
was astonished, and rose up in haste, and spoke, and said to
his counsellors, Did not we cast three men bound into the
middle of the fire? They answered and said to the king,
True, O king. 25 He answered and said, See, I see four
men loose, walking in the middle of the fire, and they have
no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.
7:13 I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like
the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to
the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him.
14 And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a
kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should
serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which
shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be
destroyed.
9:24 Seventy weeks are determined on your
people and on your holy city, to finish the transgression,
and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for
iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to
seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most
Holy. 25 Know therefore and understand, that from the
going forth of the commandment to restore and to build
Jerusalem to the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks,
and three score and two weeks: the street shall be built
again, and the wall, even in troublous times. 26 And
after three score and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off,
but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall
come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end
thereof shall be with a flood, and to the end of the war
desolations are determined. 27 And he shall confirm the
covenant with many for one week: and in the middle of the
week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease,
and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it
desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined
shall be poured on the desolate.
Mic 5:2 But
you, Bethlehem Ephratah, though you be little among the
thousands of Judah, yet out of you shall he come forth to me
that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been
from of old, from everlasting. 4 And he shall stand and
feed in the strength of the LORD, in the majesty of the name
of the LORD his God; and they shall abide: for now shall he
be great to the ends of the earth.
Zec 3:8
Hear now, O Joshua the high priest, you, and your fellows
that sit before you: for they are men wondered at: for,
behold, I will bring forth my servant the BRANCH. 9 For
behold the stone that I have laid before Joshua; on one
stone shall be seven eyes: behold, I will engrave the
engraving thereof, said the LORD of hosts, and I will remove
the iniquity of that land in one day.
6:12 And speak
to him, saying, Thus speaks the LORD of hosts, saying,
Behold the man whose name is The BRANCH; and he shall grow
up out of his place, and he shall build the temple of the
LORD: 13 Even he shall build the temple of the LORD; and
he shall bear the glory, and shall sit and rule on his
throne; and he shall be a priest on his throne: and the
counsel of peace shall be between them both.
9:9
Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of
Jerusalem: behold, your King comes to you: he is just, and
having salvation; lowly, and riding on an ass, and on a colt
the foal of an ass.
11:12 And I said to them, If you
think good, give me my price; and if not, forbear. So they
weighed for my price thirty pieces of silver. 13 And the
LORD said to me, Cast it to the potter: a goodly price that
I was priced at of them. And I took the thirty pieces of
silver, and cast them to the potter in the house of the
LORD.
12:1 The burden of the word of the LORD for
Israel, said the LORD, which stretches forth the heavens,
and lays the foundation of the earth, and forms the spirit
of man within him. 10 And I will pour on the house of
David, and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of
grace and of supplications: and they shall look on me whom
they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one
mourns for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him,
as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.
13:5
But he shall say, I am no prophet, I am an farmer; for man
taught me to keep cattle from my youth. 6 And one shall
say to him, What are these wounds in your hands? Then he
shall answer, Those with which I was wounded in the house of
my friends. 7 Awake, O sword, against my shepherd, and
against the man that is my fellow, said the LORD of hosts:
smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered: and I
will turn my hand on the little ones.
Mal 3:1
Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the
way before me: and the LORD, whom you seek, shall suddenly
come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom
you delight in: behold, he shall come, said the LORD of
hosts. 2 But who may abide the day of his coming? and who
shall stand when he appears? for he is like a refiner’s
fire, and like fullers’ soap: 3 And he shall sit as a
refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons
of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may
offer to the LORD an offering in righteousness.
Jesus' high position and Deity
Mt
1:21 And she shall bring forth a son, and you shall call
his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their
sins. 22 Now all this was done, that it might be
fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet,
saying, 23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and
shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name
Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
2:1 Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the
days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the
east to Jerusalem, 2 Saying, Where is he that is born
King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and
are come to worship him.
3:16 And Jesus, when he was
baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, see,
the heavens were opened to him, and he saw the Spirit of God
descending like a dove, and lighting on him: 17 And see a
voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I
am well pleased.
7:28 And it came to pass, when Jesus
had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at his
doctrine: 29 For he taught them as one having authority,
and not as the scribes.
9:2 And, behold, they brought
to him a man sick of the palsy, lying on a bed: and Jesus
seeing their faith said to the sick of the palsy; Son, be of
good cheer; your sins be forgiven you. 3 And, behold,
certain of the scribes said within themselves, This man
blasphemes. 4 And Jesus knowing their thoughts said, Why
think you evil in your hearts? 5 For whether is easier,
to say, Your sins be forgiven you; or to say, Arise, and
walk? 6 But that you may know that the Son of man has
power on earth to forgive sins, (then said he to the sick of
the palsy,) Arise, take up your bed, and go to your house.
7 And he arose, and departed to his house. 8 But when the
multitudes saw it, they marveled, and glorified God, which
had given such power to men.
10:1 And when he had
called to him his twelve disciples, he gave them power
against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all
manner of sickness and all manner of disease.
10:32
Whoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I
confess also before my Father which is in heaven. 33 But
whoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny
before my Father which is in heaven.
11:2 Now when
John had heard in the prison the works of Christ, he sent
two of his disciples, 3 And said to him, Are you he that
should come, or do we look for another? 4 Jesus answered
and said to them, Go and show John again those things which
you do hear and see: 5 The blind receive their sight, and
the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear,
the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel
preached to them. 6 And blessed is he, whoever shall not
be offended in me.
12:8 For the Son of man is Lord
even of the sabbath day.
12:41 The men of Nineveh
shall rise in judgment with this generation, and shall
condemn it: because they repented at the preaching of Jonas;
and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here. 42 The queen
of the south shall rise up in the judgment with this
generation, and shall condemn it: for she came from the
uttermost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon;
and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here.
14:32
And when they were come into the ship, the wind ceased.
33 Then they that were in the ship came and worshipped him,
saying, Of a truth you are the Son of God.
16:27 For
the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with
his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to
his works.
17:4 Then answered Peter, and said to
Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to be here: if you will, let
us make here three tabernacles; one for you, and one for
Moses, and one for Elias. 5 While he yet spoke, behold, a
bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of
the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am
well pleased; hear you him. 6 And when the disciples
heard it, they fell on their face, and were sore afraid.
18:20 For where two or three are gathered together in my
name, there am I in the middle of them.
21:4 All this
was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the
prophet, saying, 5 Tell you the daughter of Sion, Behold,
your King comes to you, meek, and sitting on an ass, and a
colt the foal of an ass.
22:41 While the Pharisees
were gathered together, Jesus asked them, 42 Saying, What
think you of Christ? whose son is he? They say to him, The
son of David. 43 He said to them, How then does David in
spirit call him Lord, saying, 44 The LORD said to my
Lord, Sit you on my right hand, till I make your enemies
your footstool? 45 If David then call him Lord, how is he
his son? 46 And no man was able to answer him a word,
neither dared any man from that day forth ask him any more
questions.
23:10 Neither be you called masters: for
one is your Master, even Christ.
23:34 Why, behold, I
send to you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: and some of
them you shall kill and crucify; and some of them shall you
whip in your synagogues, and persecute them from city to
city: 38 Behold, your house is left to you desolate.
39 For I say to you, You shall not see me from now on, till
you shall say, Blessed is he that comes in the name of the
Lord.
25:31 When the Son of man shall come in his
glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit
on the throne of his glory: 32 And before him shall be
gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from
another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats:
33 And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the
goats on the left. 34 Then shall the King say to them on
his right hand, Come, you blessed of my Father, inherit the
kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
26:63 But Jesus held his peace, And the high priest
answered and said to him, I adjure you by the living God,
that you tell us whether you be the Christ, the Son of God.
64 Jesus said to him, You have said: nevertheless I say to
you, Hereafter shall you see the Son of man sitting on the
right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.
65 Then the high priest rent his clothes, saying, He has
spoken blasphemy; what further need have we of witnesses?
behold, now you have heard his blasphemy. 66 What think
you? They answered and said, He is guilty of death. 67
Then did they spit in his face, and buffeted him; and others
smote him with the palms of their hands,
27:11 And
Jesus stood before the governor: and the governor asked him,
saying, Are you the King of the Jews? And Jesus said to him,
You say. 12 And when he was accused of the chief priests
and elders, he answered nothing.
27:41 Likewise also
the chief priests mocking him, with the scribes and elders,
said, 42 He saved others; himself he cannot save. If he
be the King of Israel, let him now come down from the cross,
and we will believe him. 43 He trusted in God; let him
deliver him now, if he will have him: for he said, I am the
Son of God.
27:54 Now when the centurion, and they
that were with him, watching Jesus, saw the earthquake, and
those things that were done, they feared greatly, saying,
Truly this was the Son of God.
28:9 And as they went
to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, All
hail. And they came and held him by the feet, and worshipped
him.
28:20 Teaching them to observe all things
whatever I have commanded you: and, see, I am with you
always, even to the end of the world. Amen.
Mr
2:5 When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the sick of the
palsy, Son, your sins be forgiven you. 6 But there was
certain of the scribes sitting there, and reasoning in their
hearts, 7 Why does this man thus speak blasphemies? who
can forgive sins but God only?
3:11 And unclean
spirits, when they saw him, fell down before him, and cried,
saying, You are the Son of God. 12 And he straightly
charged them that they should not make him known.
14:60 And the high priest stood up in the middle, and asked
Jesus, saying, Answer you nothing? what is it which these
witness against you? 61 But he held his peace, and
answered nothing. Again the high priest asked him, and said
to him, Are you the Christ, the Son of the Blessed? 62
And Jesus said, I am: and you shall see the Son of man
sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds
of heaven.
16:17 And these signs shall follow them
that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they
shall speak with new tongues; 18 They shall take up
serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not
hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall
recover.
Lu 1:16 And many of the children of
Israel shall he turn to the Lord their God. 17 And he
shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to
turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the
disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a
people prepared for the Lord. 76 And you, child, shall be
called the prophet of the Highest: for you shall go before
the face of the Lord to prepare his ways;
1:31 And,
behold, you shall conceive in your womb, and bring forth a
son, and shall call his name JESUS. 32 He shall be great,
and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God
shall give to him the throne of his father David: 33 And
he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his
kingdom there shall be no end.
1:43 And what is this
to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? 44
For, see, as soon as the voice of your salutation sounded in
my ears, the babe leaped in my womb for joy.
7:44 And
he turned to the woman, and said to Simon, See you this
woman? I entered into your house, you gave me no water for
my feet: but she has washed my feet with tears, and wiped
them with the hairs of her head. 45 You gave me no kiss:
but this woman since the time I came in has not ceased to
kiss my feet. 46 My head with oil you did not anoint: but
this woman has anointed my feet with ointment. 47 Why I
say to you, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she
loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, the same loves
little. 48 And he said to her, Your sins are forgiven.
49 And they that sat at meat with him began to say within
themselves, Who is this that forgives sins also? 50 And
he said to the woman, Your faith has saved you; go in peace.
8:38 Now the man out of whom the devils were departed
sought him that he might be with him: but Jesus sent him
away, saying, 39 Return to your own house, and show how
great things God has done to you. And he went his way, and
published throughout the whole city how great things Jesus
had done to him.
10:17 And the seventy returned again
with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject to us
through your name. 18 And he said to them, I beheld Satan
as lightning fall from heaven. 19 Behold, I give to you
power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the
power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
19:12 He said therefore, A certain nobleman went into a
far country to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return.
13 And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten
pounds, and said to them, Occupy till I come.
Joh
1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with
God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the
beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him; and
without him was not any thing made that was made. 14 And
the Word was made flesh, and dwelled among us, (and we
beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the
Father,) full of grace and truth. 15 John bore witness of
him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spoke, He that
comes after me is preferred before me: for he was before me.
1:9 That was the true Light, which lights every man that
comes into the world. 10 He was in the world, and the
world was made by him, and the world knew him not.
1:23 He said, I am the voice of one crying in the
wilderness, Make straight the way of the Lord, as said the
prophet Esaias. 24 And they which were sent were of the
Pharisees. 25 And they asked him, and said to him, Why
baptize you then, if you be not that Christ, nor Elias,
neither that prophet? 26 John answered them, saying, I
baptize with water: but there stands one among you, whom you
know not; 27 He it is, who coming after me is preferred
before me, whose shoe’s lace I am not worthy to unloose.
28 These things were done in Bethabara beyond Jordan, where
John was baptizing.
1:29 The next day John sees Jesus
coming to him, and said, Behold the Lamb of God, which takes
away the sin of the world. 30 This is he of whom I said,
After me comes a man which is preferred before me: for he
was before me. 31 And I knew him not: but that he should
be made manifest to Israel, therefore am I come baptizing
with water.
3:27 John answered and said, A man can
receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven. 28
You yourselves bear me witness, that I said, I am not the
Christ, but that I am sent before him. 29 He that has the
bride is the bridegroom: but the friend of the bridegroom,
which stands and hears him, rejoices greatly because of the
bridegroom’s voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled.
30 He must increase, but I must decrease. 31 He that
comes from above is above all: he that is of the earth is
earthly, and speaks of the earth: he that comes from heaven
is above all.
5:17 But Jesus answered them, My Father
works till now, and I work. 18 Therefore the Jews sought
the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the
sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making
himself equal with God.
5:21 For as the Father raises
up the dead, and vivifies them; even so the Son vivifies
whom he will. 22 For the Father judges no man, but has
committed all judgment to the Son: 23 That all men should
honor the Son, even as they honor the Father. He that honors
not the Son honors not the Father which has sent him.
6:40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that
every one which sees the Son, and believes on him, may have
everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.
7:45 Then came the officers to the chief priests and
Pharisees; and they said to them, Why have you not brought
him? 46 The officers answered, Never man spoke like this
man.
8:23 And he said to them, You are from beneath;
I am from above: you are of this world; I am not of this
world. 24 I said therefore to you, that you shall die in
your sins: for if you believe not that I am he, you shall
die in your sins.
8:56 Your father Abraham rejoiced
to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad. 57 Then said
the Jews to him, You are not yet fifty years old, and have
you seen Abraham? 58 Jesus said to them, Truly, truly, I
say to you, Before Abraham was, I am. 59 Then took they
up stones to cast at him: but Jesus hid himself, and went
out of the temple, going through the middle of them, and so
passed by.
9:35 Jesus heard that they had cast him
out; and when he had found him, he said to him, Do you
believe on the Son of God? 36 He answered and said, Who
is he, Lord, that I might believe on him? 37 And Jesus
said to him, You have both seen him, and it is he that talks
with you. 38 And he said, Lord, I believe. And he
worshipped him.
10:17 Therefore does my Father love
me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again.
18 No man takes it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I
have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it
again. This commandment have I received of my Father. 19
There was a division therefore again among the Jews for
these sayings.
10:22 And it was at Jerusalem the
feast of the dedication, and it was winter. 23 And Jesus
walked in the temple in Solomon’s porch. 24 Then came the
Jews round about him, and said to him, How long do you make
us to doubt? If you be the Christ, tell us plainly. 25
Jesus answered them, I told you, and you believed not: the
works that I do in my Father’s name, they bear witness of
me.
10:29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater
than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my
Father’s hand. 30 I and my Father are one. 31 Then the
Jews took up stones again to stone him. 32 Jesus answered
them, Many good works have I showed you from my Father; for
which of those works do you stone me? 33 The Jews
answered him, saying, For a good work we stone you not; but
for blasphemy; and because that you, being a man, make
yourself God.
10:37 If I do not the works of my
Father, believe me not. 38 But if I do, though you
believe not me, believe the works: that you may know, and
believe, that the Father is in me, and I in him. 39
Therefore they sought again to take him: but he escaped out
of their hand,
10:40 And went away again beyond
Jordan into the place where John at first baptized; and
there he stayed. 41 And many resorted to him, and said,
John did no miracle: but all things that John spoke of this
man were true. 42 And many believed on him there.
11:25 Jesus said to her, I am the resurrection, and the
life: he that believes in me, though he were dead, yet shall
he live: 26 And whoever lives and believes in me shall
never die. Believe you this? 27 She said to him, Yes,
Lord: I believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God,
which should come into the world.
13:13 You call me
Master and Lord: and you say well; for so I am.
14:9
Jesus said to him, Have I been so long time with you, and
yet have you not known me, Philip? he that has seen me has
seen the Father; and how say you then, Show us the Father?
10 Believe you not that I am in the Father, and the Father
in me? the words that I speak to you I speak not of myself:
but the Father that dwells in me, he does the works. 11
Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or
else believe me for the very works’ sake.
15:22 If I
had not come and spoken to them, they had not had sin: but
now they have no cloak for their sin. 23 He that hates me
hates my Father also. 24 If I had not done among them the
works which none other man did, they had not had sin: but
now have they both seen and hated both me and my Father.
16:14 He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine,
and shall show it to you. 15 All things that the Father
has are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine,
and shall show it to you.
18:33 Then Pilate entered
into the judgment hall again, and called Jesus, and said to
him, Are you the King of the Jews? 34 Jesus answered him,
Say you this thing of yourself, or did others tell it you of
me? 35 Pilate answered, Am I a Jew? Your own nation and
the chief priests have delivered you to me: what have you
done? 36 Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world:
if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants
fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now
is my kingdom not from hence. 37 Pilate therefore said to
him, Are you a king then? Jesus answered, You say that I am
a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I
into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth.
Every one that is of the truth hears my voice. 38 Pilate
said to him, What is truth? And when he had said this, he
went out again to the Jews, and said to them, I find in him
no fault at all.
19:6 When the chief priests
therefore and officers saw him, they cried out, saying,
Crucify him, crucify him. Pilate said to them, Take you him,
and crucify him: for I find no fault in him. 7 The Jews
answered him, We have a law, and by our law he ought to die,
because he made himself the Son of God. 8 When Pilate
therefore heard that saying, he was the more afraid; 9
And went again into the judgment hall, and said to Jesus,
From where are you? But Jesus gave him no answer. 10 Then
said Pilate to him, Speak you not to me? know you not that I
have power to crucify you, and have power to release you?
11 Jesus answered, You could have no power at all against
me, except it were given you from above: therefore he that
delivered me to you has the greater sin.
20:26 And
after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas
with them: then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood
in the middle, and said, Peace be to you. 27 Then said he
to Thomas, Reach here your finger, and behold my hands; and
reach here your hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not
faithless, but believing. 28 And Thomas answered and said
to him, My LORD and my God. 29 Jesus said to him, Thomas,
because you have seen me, you have believed: blessed are
they that have not seen, and yet have believed.
Acts 7:55 But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked
up steadfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and
Jesus standing on the right hand of God, 56 And said,
Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man
standing on the right hand of God. 59 And they stoned
Stephen, calling on God, and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my
spirit. 60 And he kneeled down, and cried with a loud
voice, Lord, lay not this sin to their charge. And when he
had said this, he fell asleep.
9:3 And as he
journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined
round about him a light from heaven: 4 And he fell to the
earth, and heard a voice saying to him, Saul, Saul, why
persecute you me? 5 And he said, Who are you, Lord? And
the Lord said, I am Jesus whom you persecute: it is hard for
you to kick against the pricks. 6 And he trembling and
astonished said, Lord, what will you have me to do? And the
Lord said to him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall
be told you what you must do.
9:10 And there was a
certain disciple at Damascus, named Ananias; and to him said
the Lord in a vision, Ananias. And he said, Behold, I am
here, Lord. 11 And the Lord said to him, Arise, and go
into the street which is called Straight, and inquire in the
house of Judas for one called Saul, of Tarsus: for, behold,
he prays, 12 And has seen in a vision a man named Ananias
coming in, and putting his hand on him, that he might
receive his sight. 13 Then Ananias answered, Lord, I have
heard by many of this man, how much evil he has done to your
saints at Jerusalem: 14 And here he has authority from
the chief priests to bind all that call on your name. 15
But the Lord said to him, Go your way: for he is a chosen
vessel to me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and
kings, and the children of Israel: 16 For I will show him
how great things he must suffer for my name’s sake.
9:17 And Ananias went his way, and entered into the house;
and putting his hands on him said, Brother Saul, the Lord,
even Jesus, that appeared to you in the way as you came, has
sent me, that you might receive your sight, and be filled
with the Holy Ghost. 18 And immediately there fell from
his eyes as it had been scales: and he received sight
immediately, and arose, and was baptized. 19 And when he
had received meat, he was strengthened. Then was Saul
certain days with the disciples which were at Damascus.
20 And straightway he preached Christ in the synagogues,
that he is the Son of God. 21 But all that heard him were
amazed, and said; Is not this he that destroyed them which
called on this name in Jerusalem, and came here for that
intent, that he might bring them bound to the chief priests?
9:34 And Peter said to him, Aeneas, Jesus Christ makes
you whole: arise, and make your bed. And he arose
immediately.
10:36 The word which God sent to the
children of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ: (he is
Lord of all:)
13:32 And we declare to you glad
tidings, how that the promise which was made to the fathers,
33 God has fulfilled the same to us their children, in that
he has raised up Jesus again; as it is also written in the
second psalm, You are my Son, this day have I begotten you.
19:17 And this was known to all the Jews and Greeks also
dwelling at Ephesus; and fear fell on them all, and the name
of the Lord Jesus was magnified.
Rom 9:5 Whose
are the fathers, and of whom as concerning the flesh Christ
came, who is over all, God blessed for ever. Amen.
10:12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the
Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich to all that call
on him. 13 For whoever shall call on the name of the Lord
shall be saved.
14:9 For to this end Christ both
died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of
the dead and living.
1 Cor 1:2 To the church
of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in
Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every
place call on the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both
their’s and our’s:
2:8 Which none of the princes of
this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have
crucified the Lord of glory.
2 Cor 1:18 But as
God is true, our word toward you was not yes and no. 19
For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you
by us, even by me and Silvanus and Timotheus, was not yes
and no, but in him was yes. 20 For all the promises of
God in him are yes, and in him Amen, to the glory of God by
us.
4:5 For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus
the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus’ sake.
Eph 1:20 Which he worked in Christ, when he
raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand
in the heavenly places, 21 Far above all principality,
and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is
named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to
come:
Php 2:5 Let this mind be in you, which
was also in Christ Jesus: 6 Who, being in the form of
God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7 But
made himself of no reputation, and took on him the form of a
servant, and was made in the likeness of men: 8 And being
found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became
obedient to death, even the death of the cross. 9 Why God
also has highly exalted him, and given him a name which is
above every name: 10 That at the name of Jesus every knee
should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and
things under the earth; 11 And that every tongue should
confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the
Father.
3:20 For our conversation is in heaven; from
where also we look for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ:
21 Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned
like to his glorious body, according to the working whereby
he is able even to subdue all things to himself.
Col 1:15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the
firstborn of every creature: 16 For by him were all
things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth,
visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or
dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were
created by him, and for him: 17 And he is before all
things, and by him all things consist.
2:2 That their
hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and
to all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the
acknowledgment of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and
of Christ; 3 In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom
and knowledge.
2:8 Beware lest any man spoil you
through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of
men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.
9 For in him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily.
10 And you are complete in him, which is the head of all
principality and power:
3:23 And whatever you do, do
it heartily, as to the Lord, and not to men; 24 Knowing
that of the Lord you shall receive the reward of the
inheritance: for you serve the Lord Christ.
1 Tim
3:16 And without controversy great is the mystery of
godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the
Spirit, seen of angels, preached to the Gentiles, believed
on in the world, received up into glory.
Tit
1:3 But has in due times manifested his word through
preaching, which is committed to me according to the
commandment of God our Savior; 4 To Titus, my own son
after the common faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God
the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ our Savior.
2:13
Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of
the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ;
Heb
1:1 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spoke in
time past to the fathers by the prophets, 2 Has in these
last days spoken to us by his Son, whom he has appointed
heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; 3
Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image
of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his
power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on
the right hand of the Majesty on high: 4 Being made so
much better than the angels, as he has by inheritance
obtained a more excellent name than they. 5 For to which
of the angels said he at any time, You are my Son, this day
have I begotten you? And again, I will be to him a Father,
and he shall be to me a Son? 6 And again, when he brings
in the first-begotten into the world, he said, And let all
the angels of God worship him. 7 And of the angels he
said, Who makes his angels spirits, and his ministers a
flame of fire. 8 But to the Son he said, Your throne, O
God, is for ever and ever: a scepter of righteousness is the
scepter of your kingdom. 9 You have loved righteousness,
and hated iniquity; therefore God, even your God, has
anointed you with the oil of gladness above your fellows.
10 And, You, Lord, in the beginning have laid the foundation
of the earth; and the heavens are the works of your hands:
11 They shall perish; but you remain; and they all shall wax
old as does a garment; 12 And as a clothing shall you
fold them up, and they shall be changed: but you are the
same, and your years shall not fail. 13 But to which of
the angels said he at any time, Sit on my right hand, until
I make your enemies your footstool?
2:7 You made him
a little lower than the angels; you crowned him with glory
and honor, and did set him over the works of your hands:
8 You have put all things in subjection under his feet. For
in that he put all in subjection under him, he left nothing
that is not put under him. But now we see not yet all things
put under him.
3:3 For this man was counted worthy of
more glory than Moses, inasmuch as he who has built the
house has more honor than the house. 4 For every house is
built by some man; but he that built all things is God.
7:3 Without father, without mother, without descent,
having neither beginning of days, nor end of life; but made
like to the Son of God; stays a priest continually.
13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for
ever.
1 Pe 3:22 Who is gone into heaven, and
is on the right hand of God; angels and authorities and
powers being made subject to him.
2 Pe 1:1
Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to
them that have obtained like precious faith with us through
the righteousness of God and our Savior Jesus Christ:
1:16 For we have not followed cunningly devised fables,
when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord
Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty. 17
For he received from God the Father honor and glory, when
there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory,
This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. 18 And
this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were
with him in the holy mount.
1 Joh 2:22 Who is
a liar but he that denies that Jesus is the Christ? He is
antichrist, that denies the Father and the Son. 23
Whoever denies the Son, the same has not the Father: he that
acknowledges the Son has the Father also.
5:20 And we
know that the Son of God is come, and has given us an
understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are
in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is
the true God, and eternal life. 21 Little children, keep
yourselves from idols. Amen.
2 Joh 1:9 Whoever
transgresses, and stays not in the doctrine of Christ, has
not God. He that stays in the doctrine of Christ, he has
both the Father and the Son.
Jude 1:4 For
there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of
old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the
grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only
Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.
Rev 1:5
And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the
first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of
the earth. To him that loved us, and washed us from our sins
in his own blood, 6 And has made us kings and priests to
God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever
and ever. Amen.
1:7 Behold, he comes with clouds; and
every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him:
and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him.
Even so, Amen. 8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and
the ending, said the Lord, which is, and which was, and
which is to come, the Almighty.
1:16 And he had in
his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a
sharp two edged sword: and his countenance was as the sun
shines in his strength. 17 And when I saw him, I fell at
his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand on me, saying
to me, Fear not; I am the first and the last: 18 I am he
that lives, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for ever
more, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.
3:21 To him that overcomes will I grant to sit with me in my
throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my
Father in his throne.
5:12 Saying with a loud voice,
Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and
riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honor, and glory, and
blessing. 13 And every creature which is in heaven, and
on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the
sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and
honor, and glory, and power, be to him that sits on the
throne, and to the Lamb for ever and ever.
7:17 For
the Lamb which is in the middle of the throne shall feed
them, and shall lead them to living fountains of waters: and
God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.
11:15
And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices
in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the
kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign
for ever and ever.
17:14 These shall make war with
the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord
of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are
called, and chosen, and faithful.
19:11 And I saw
heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat on
him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he
does judge and make war. 16 And he has on his clothing
and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF
LORDS.
22:1 And he showed me a pure river of water of
life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God
and of the Lamb. 3 And there shall be no more curse: but
the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his
servants shall serve him:
22:12 And, behold, I come
quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man
according as his work shall be. 13 I am Alpha and Omega,
the beginning and the end, the first and the last.
De 18:15 The LORD your God will raise up to you a
Prophet from the middle of you, of your brothers, like to
me; to him you shall listen; 18 I will raise them up a
Prophet from among their brothers, like to you, and will put
my words in his mouth; and he shall speak to them all that I
shall command him. 19 And it shall come to pass, that
whoever will not listen to my words which he shall speak in
my name, I will require it of him.
1 Ch 17:11
And it shall come to pass, when your days be expired that
you must go to be with your fathers, that I will raise up
your seed after you, which shall be of your sons; and I will
establish his kingdom. 12 He shall build me an house, and
I will establish his throne for ever. 13 I will be his
father, and he shall be my son: and I will not take my mercy
away from him, as I took it from him that was before you:
14 But I will settle him in my house and in my kingdom for
ever: and his throne shall be established for ever more.
45:6 Your throne, O God,
is for ever and ever: the scepter of your kingdom is a right
scepter. 7 You love righteousness, and hate wickedness:
therefore God, your God, has anointed you with the oil of
gladness above your fellows.
72:7 In his days shall
the righteous flourish; and abundance of peace so long as
the moon endures. 8 He shall have dominion also from sea
to sea, and from the river to the ends of the earth. 11
Yes, all kings shall fall down before him: all nations shall
serve him. 12 For he shall deliver the needy when he
cries; the poor also, and him that has no helper.
102:24 I said, O my God, take me not away in the middle of
my days: your years are throughout all generations. 25 Of
old have you laid the foundation of the earth: and the
heavens are the work of your hands. 26 They shall perish,
but you shall endure: yes, all of them shall wax old like a
garment; as a clothing shall you change them, and they shall
be changed: 27 But you are the same, and your years shall
have no end.
Pr 30:4 Who has
ascended up into heaven, or descended? who has gathered the
wind in his fists? who has bound the waters in a garment?
who has established all the ends of the earth? what is his
name, and what is his son’s name, if you can tell? 5
Every word of God is pure: he is a shield to them that put
their trust in him.
Isa 7:14 Therefore the
Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall
conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.
8:13 Sanctify the LORD of hosts himself; and let him be
your fear, and let him be your dread. 14 And he shall be
for a sanctuary; but for a stone of stumbling and for a rock
of offense to both the houses of Israel, for a gin and for a
snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem. 15 And many among
them shall stumble, and fall, and be broken, and be snared,
and be taken.
9:6 For to us a child is born, to us a
son is given: and the government shall be on his shoulder:
and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The
mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
40:3 The voice of him that cries in the wilderness,
Prepare you the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert
a highway for our God. 4 Every valley shall be exalted,
and every mountain and hill shall be made low: and the
crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain:
5 And the glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh
shall see it together: for the mouth of the LORD has spoken
it.
40:9 O Zion, that bring good tidings, get you up
into the high mountain; O Jerusalem, that bring good
tidings, lift up your voice with strength; lift it up, be
not afraid; say to the cities of Judah, Behold your God!
10 Behold, the Lord GOD will come with strong hand, and his
arm shall rule for him: behold, his reward is with him, and
his work before him. 11 He shall feed his flock like a
shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry
them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with
young.
45:22 Look to me, and be you saved, all the
ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.
23 I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth
in righteousness, and shall not return, That to me every
knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear. 24 Surely,
shall one say, in the LORD have I righteousness and
strength: even to him shall men come; and all that are
incensed against him shall be ashamed. 25 In the LORD
shall all the seed of Israel be justified, and shall glory.
48:12 Listen to me, O Jacob and Israel, my called; I am
he; I am the first, I also am the last. 13 My hand also
has laid the foundation of the earth, and my right hand has
spanned the heavens: when I call to them, they stand up
together. 16 Come you near to me, hear you this; I have
not spoken in secret from the beginning; from the time that
it was, there am I: and now the Lord GOD, and his Spirit,
has sent me.
62:11 Behold, the LORD has proclaimed to
the end of the world, Say you to the daughter of Zion,
Behold, your salvation comes; behold, his reward is with
him, and his work before him.
Jer 23:5 Behold,
the days come, said the LORD, that I will raise to David a
righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and
shall execute judgment and justice in the earth. 6 In his
days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely:
and this is his name whereby he shall be called, THE LORD
OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.
Dan 7:13 I saw in the night
visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the
clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they
brought him near before him. 14 And there was given him
dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people,
nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an
everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his
kingdom that which shall not be destroyed. 27 And the
kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under
the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints
of the most High, whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom,
and all dominions shall serve and obey him.
Mic
5:2 But you, Bethlehem Ephratah, though you be little among
the thousands of Judah, yet out of you shall he come forth
to me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have
been from of old, from everlasting.
Zec 9:9
Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of
Jerusalem: behold, your King comes to you: he is just, and
having salvation; lowly, and riding on an ass, and on a colt
the foal of an ass. 10 And I will cut off the chariot
from Ephraim, and the horse from Jerusalem, and the battle
bow shall be cut off: and he shall speak peace to the
heathen: and his dominion shall be from sea even to sea, and
from the river even to the ends of the earth. 11 As for
you also, by the blood of your covenant I have sent forth
your prisoners out of the pit wherein is no water.
11:12 And I said to them, If you think good, give me my
price; and if not, forbear. So they weighed for my price
thirty pieces of silver. 13 And the LORD said to me, Cast
it to the potter: a goodly price that I was priced at of
them. And I took the thirty pieces of silver, and cast them
to the potter in the house of the LORD.
12:1 The
burden of the word of the LORD for Israel, said the LORD,
which stretches forth the heavens, and lays the foundation
of the earth, and forms the spirit of man within him. 10
And I will pour on the house of David, and on the
inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of
supplications: and they shall look on me whom they have
pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourns for his
only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is
in bitterness for his firstborn.
14:8 And it shall be
in that day, that living waters shall go out from Jerusalem;
half of them toward the former sea, and half of them toward
the hinder sea: in summer and in winter shall it be. 9
And the LORD shall be king over all the earth: in that day
shall there be one LORD, and his name one.
Mal
3:1 Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare
the way before me: and the LORD, whom you seek, shall
suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the
covenant, whom you delight in: behold, he shall come, said
the LORD of hosts. 2 But who may abide the day of his
coming? and who shall stand when he appears? for he is like
a refiner’s fire, and like fullers’ soap:
The meaning of Jesus' name
Mt 1:21 And she shall bring
forth a son, and you shall call his name JESUS: for he shall
save his people from their sins. 22 Now all this was
done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the
Lord by the prophet, saying, 23 Behold, a virgin shall be
with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call
his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
10:22 And you shall be hated of all men for my name’s
sake: but he that endures to the end shall be saved.
12:20 A bruised reed shall he not break, and smoking flax
shall he not quench, till he send forth judgment to victory.
21 And in his name shall the Gentiles trust.
18:19
Again I say to you, That if two of you shall agree on earth
as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done
for them of my Father which is in heaven. 20 For where
two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in
the middle of them.
19:29 And every one that has
forsaken houses, or brothers, or sisters, or father, or
mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name’s sake,
shall receive an hundred times, and shall inherit
everlasting life.
24:9 Then shall they deliver you up
to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and you shall be hated
of all nations for my name’s sake. 10 And then shall many
be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate
one another.
Mr 9:36 And he took a child, and
set him in the middle of them: and when he had taken him in
his arms, he said to them, 37 Whoever shall receive one
of such children in my name, receives me: and whoever shall
receive me, receives not me, but him that sent me. 38 And
John answered him, saying, Master, we saw one casting out
devils in your name, and he follows not us: and we forbade
him, because he follows not us. 39 But Jesus said, Forbid
him not: for there is no man which shall do a miracle in my
name, that can lightly speak evil of me. 40 For he that
is not against us is on our part. 41 For whoever shall
give you a cup of water to drink in my name, because you
belong to Christ, truly I say to you, he shall not lose his
reward.
16:17 And these signs shall follow them that
believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall
speak with new tongues; 18 They shall take up serpents;
and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them;
they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
Lu 6:22 Blessed are you, when men shall hate you,
and when they shall separate you from their company, and
shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the
Son of man’s sake. 23 Rejoice you in that day, and leap
for joy: for, behold, your reward is great in heaven: for in
the like manner did their fathers to the prophets.
10:17 And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord,
even the devils are subject to us through your name. 18
And he said to them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from
heaven. 19 Behold, I give to you power to tread on
serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy:
and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
24:46 And
said to them, Thus it is written, and thus it behooved
Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:
47 And that repentance and remission of sins should be
preached in his name among all nations, beginning at
Jerusalem. 48 And you are witnesses of these things.
Joh 1:12 But as many as received him, to them
gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that
believe on his name: 13 Which were born, not of blood,
nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of
God.
14:13 And whatever you shall ask in my name,
that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
14 If you shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.
15:16 You have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and
ordained you, that you should go and bring forth fruit, and
that your fruit should remain: that whatever you shall ask
of the Father in my name, he may give it you.
16:23
And in that day you shall ask me nothing. Truly, truly, I
say to you, Whatever you shall ask the Father in my name, he
will give it you. 24 Till now have you asked nothing in
my name: ask, and you shall receive, that your joy may be
full. 25 These things have I spoken to you in proverbs:
but the time comes, when I shall no more speak to you in
proverbs, but I shall show you plainly of the Father. 26
At that day you shall ask in my name: and I say not to you,
that I will pray the Father for you:
20:30 And many
other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his
disciples, which are not written in this book: 31 But
these are written, that you might believe that Jesus is the
Christ, the Son of God; and that believing you might have
life through his name.
Acts 2:37 Now when they
heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said to
Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brothers,
what shall we do? 38 Then Peter said to them, Repent, and
be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for
the remission of sins, and you shall receive the gift of the
Holy Ghost.
3:6 Then Peter said, Silver and gold have
I none; but such as I have give I you: In the name of Jesus
Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. 7 And he took him by
the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet
and ankle bones received strength. 8 And he leaping up
stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple,
walking, and leaping, and praising God. 16 And his name
through faith in his name has made this man strong, whom you
see and know: yes, the faith which is by him has given him
this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.
4:8 Then Peter, filled with the Holy Ghost, said to them,
You rulers of the people, and elders of Israel, 9 If we
this day be examined of the good deed done to the weak man,
by what means he is made whole; 10 Be it known to you
all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of
Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God
raised from the dead, even by him does this man stand here
before you whole. 11 This is the stone which was set at
nothing of you builders, which is become the head of the
corner. 12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for
there is none other name under heaven given among men,
whereby we must be saved.
5:40 And to him they
agreed: and when they had called the apostles, and beaten
them, they commanded that they should not speak in the name
of Jesus, and let them go. 41 And they departed from the
presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted
worthy to suffer shame for his name.
8:12 But when
they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the
kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were
baptized, both men and women.
9:15 But the Lord said
to him, Go your way: for he is a chosen vessel to me, to
bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the
children of Israel: 16 For I will show him how great
things he must suffer for my name’s sake.
10:43 To
him give all the prophets witness, that through his name
whoever believes in him shall receive remission of sins.
44 While Peter yet spoke these words, the Holy Ghost fell on
all them which heard the word.
16:18 And this did she
many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the
spirit, I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come
out of her. And he came out the same hour.
1 Cor
1:2 To the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that
are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with
all that in every place call on the name of Jesus Christ our
Lord, both their’s and our’s:
6:11 And such were some
of you: but you are washed, but you are sanctified, but you
are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the
Spirit of our God.
Eph 5:18 And be not drunk
with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;
19 Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual
songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;
20 Giving thanks always for all things to God and the Father
in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;
Php 2:9
Why God also has highly exalted him, and given him a name
which is above every name: 10 That at the name of Jesus
every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in
earth, and things under the earth;
Col 3:17
And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of
the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
1 Pe 4:14 If you be reproached for the name of
Christ, happy are you; for the spirit of glory and of God
rests on you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on
your part he is glorified.
1 Joh 2:12 I write
to you, little children, because your sins are forgiven you
for his name’s sake.
3:23 And this is his
commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son
Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us
commandment.
5:12 He that has the Son has life; and
he that has not the Son of God has not life. 13 These
things have I written to you that believe on the name of the
Son of God; that you may know that you have eternal life,
and that you may believe on the name of the Son of God.
The meaning of Jesus' words
Mt 7:24
Therefore whoever hears these sayings of mine, and does
them, I will liken him to a wise man, which built his house
on a rock: 25 And the rain descended, and the floods
came, and the winds blew, and beat on that house; and it
fell not: for it was founded on a rock. 26 And every one
that hears these sayings of mine, and does them not, shall
be likened to a foolish man, which built his house on the
sand: 27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and
the winds blew, and beat on that house; and it fell: and
great was the fall of it. 28 And it came to pass, when
Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at
his doctrine: 29 For he taught them as one having
authority, and not as the scribes.
24:35 Heaven and
earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.
Mr 8:38 Whoever therefore shall be ashamed of me
and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of
him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he comes in
the glory of his Father with the holy angels.
Lu
9:26 For whoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of
him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he shall come in
his own glory, and in his Father’s, and of the holy angels.
21:33 Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words
shall not pass away.
Joh 1:1 In the beginning
was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was
God.
3:32 And what he has seen and heard, that he
testifies; and no man receives his testimony. 33 He that
has received his testimony has set to his seal that God is
true. 34 For he whom God has sent speaks the words of
God: for God gives not the Spirit by measure to him.
5:24 Truly, truly, I say to you, He that hears my word, and
believes on him that sent me, has everlasting life, and
shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death
to life.
6:63 It is the spirit that vivifies; the
flesh profits nothing: the words that I speak to you, they
are spirit, and they are life. 67 Then said Jesus to the
twelve, Will you also go away? 68 Then Simon Peter
answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? you have the words
of eternal life. 69 And we believe and are sure that you
are that Christ, the Son of the living God.
8:31 Then
said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If you
continue in my word, then are you my disciples indeed; 32
And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you
free. 33 They answered him, We be Abraham’s seed, and
were never in bondage to any man: how say you, You shall be
made free? 34 Jesus answered them, Truly, truly, I say to
you, Whoever commits sin is the servant of sin. 35 And
the servant stays not in the house for ever: but the Son
stays ever. 36 If the Son therefore shall make you free,
you shall be free indeed. 37 I know that you are
Abraham’s seed; but you seek to kill me, because my word has
no place in you. 38 I speak that which I have seen with
my Father: and you do that which you have seen with your
father.
8:43 Why do you not understand my speech?
even because you cannot hear my word. 44 You are of your
father the devil, and the lusts of your father you will do.
He was a murderer from the beginning, and stayed not in the
truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a
lie, he speaks of his own: for he is a liar, and the father
of it. 45 And because I tell you the truth, you believe
me not. 46 Which of you convinces me of sin? And if I say
the truth, why do you not believe me? 47 He that is of
God hears God’s words: you therefore hear them not, because
you are not of God.
8:51 Truly, truly, I say to you,
If a man keep my saying, he shall never see death. 52
Then said the Jews to him, Now we know that you have a
devil. Abraham is dead, and the prophets; and you say, If a
man keep my saying, he shall never taste of death.
12:47 And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge
him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the
world. 48 He that rejects me, and receives not my words,
has one that judges him: the word that I have spoken, the
same shall judge him in the last day. 49 For I have not
spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a
commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.
50 And I know that his commandment is life everlasting:
whatever I speak therefore, even as the Father said to me,
so I speak.
14:9 Jesus said to him, Have I been so
long time with you, and yet have you not known me, Philip?
he that has seen me has seen the Father; and how say you
then, Show us the Father? 10 Believe you not that I am in
the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak to
you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwells in me,
he does the works.
15:7 If you abide in me, and my
words abide in you, you shall ask what you will, and it
shall be done to you.
1 Tim 6:3 If any man
teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even
the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine
which is according to godliness; 4 He is proud, knowing
nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words,
whereof comes envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings, 5
Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute
of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such
withdraw yourself.
1 Joh 1:1 That which was
from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen
with our eyes, which we have looked on, and our hands have
handled, of the Word of life;
Rev 19:13 And he
was clothed with a clothing dipped in blood: and his name is
called The Word of God.
Ascension of Jesus
Mr 16:19 So then after the Lord had
spoken to them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on
the right hand of God. 20 And they went forth, and
preached every where, the Lord working with them, and
confirming the word with signs following. Amen.
Lu
24:25 Then he said to them, O fools, and slow of heart to
believe all that the prophets have spoken: 26 Ought not
Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his
glory? 27 And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he
expounded to them in all the scriptures the things
concerning himself.
24:50 And he led them out as far
as to Bethany, and he lifted up his hands, and blessed them.
51 And it came to pass, while he blessed them, he was parted
from them, and carried up into heaven.
Joh
3:12 If I have told you earthly things, and you believe not,
how shall you believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?
13 And no man has ascended up to heaven, but he that came
down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.
6:60 Many therefore of his disciples, when they had
heard this, said, This is an hard saying; who can hear it?
61 When Jesus knew in himself that his disciples murmured at
it, he said to them, Does this offend you? 62 What and if
you shall see the Son of man ascend up where he was before?
7:33 Then said Jesus to them, Yet a little while am I
with you, and then I go to him that sent me. 34 You shall
seek me, and shall not find me: and where I am, thither you
cannot come. 35 Then said the Jews among themselves,
Where will he go, that we shall not find him? will he go to
the dispersed among the Gentiles, and teach the Gentiles?
36 What manner of saying is this that he said, You shall
seek me, and shall not find me: and where I am, thither you
cannot come?
8:21 Then said Jesus again to them, I go
my way, and you shall seek me, and shall die in your sins:
where I go, you cannot come. 22 Then said the Jews, Will
he kill himself? because he said, Where I go, you cannot
come.
13:33 Little children, yet a little while I am
with you. You shall seek me: and as I said to the Jews,
Where I go, you cannot come; so now I say to you.
14:1 Let not your heart be troubled: you believe in God,
believe also in me. 2 In my Father’s house are many
mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to
prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a
place for you, I will come again, and receive you to myself;
that where I am, there you may be also.
16:5 But now
I go my way to him that sent me; and none of you asks me,
Where go you? 6 But because I have said these things to
you, sorrow has filled your heart. 7 Nevertheless I tell
you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for
if I go not away, the Comforter will not come to you; but if
I depart, I will send him to you.
20:17 Jesus said to
her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father:
but go to my brothers, and say to them, I ascend to my
Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.
Acts 1:1 The former treatise have I made, O
Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach,
2 Until the day in which he was taken up, after that he
through the Holy Ghost had given commandments to the
apostles whom he had chosen: 3 To whom also he showed
himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs,
being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things
pertaining to the kingdom of God:
1:9 And when he had
spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and
a cloud received him out of their sight. 10 And while
they looked steadfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold,
two men stood by them in white apparel; 11 Which also
said, You men of Galilee, why stand you gazing up into
heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into
heaven, shall so come in like manner as you have seen him go
into heaven. 12 Then returned they to Jerusalem from the
mount called Olivet, which is from Jerusalem a sabbath day’s
journey.
2:33 Therefore being by the right hand of
God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise
of the Holy Ghost, he has shed forth this, which you now see
and hear. 34 For David is not ascended into the heavens:
but he said himself, The Lord said to my Lord, Sit you on my
right hand, 35 Until I make your foes your footstool.
36 Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly,
that God has made the same Jesus, whom you have crucified,
both Lord and Christ.
Rom 8:34 Who is he that
comdemns? It is Christ that died, yes rather, that is risen
again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes
intercession for us.
Eph 1:20 Which he worked
in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at
his own right hand in the heavenly places, 21 Far above
all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and
every name that is named, not only in this world, but also
in that which is to come:
4:7 But to every one of us
is given grace according to the measure of the gift of
Christ. 8 Why he said, When he ascended up on high, he
led captivity captive, and gave gifts to men. 9 (Now that
he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first
into the lower parts of the earth? 10 He that descended
is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens,
that he might fill all things.)
Col 3:1 If you
then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are
above, where Christ sits on the right hand of God. 2 Set
your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
Heb 1:3 Who being the brightness of his glory,
and the express image of his person, and upholding all
things by the word of his power, when he had by himself
purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty
on high: 13 But to which of the angels said he at any
time, Sit on my right hand, until I make your enemies your
footstool?
4:14 Seeing then that we have a great high
priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of
God, let us hold fast our profession.
6:19 Which hope
we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast,
and which enters into that within the veil; 20 Where the
forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high
priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.
8:1
Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We
have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of
the throne of the Majesty in the heavens; 2 A minister of
the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord
pitched, and not man.
9:11 But Christ being come an
high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more
perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not
of this building; 12 Neither by the blood of goats and
calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the
holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. 24
For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with
hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven
itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us:
10:12 But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for
sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;
12:2 Looking to Jesus the author and finisher of our faith;
who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross,
despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of
the throne of God.
1 Pe 1:10 Of which
salvation the prophets have inquired and searched
diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come to
you: 11 Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit
of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified
beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that
should follow.
3:21 The like figure whereunto even
baptism does also now save us (not the putting away of the
filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience
toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ: 22 Who
is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels
and authorities and powers being made subject to him.
1 Joh 2:1 My little children, these things write
I to you, that you sin not. And if any man sin, we have an
advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:
Ps 68:18 You have ascended on high, you have led
captivity captive: you have received gifts for men; yes, for
the rebellious also, that the LORD God might dwell among
them.
110:1 The LORD said to my Lord, Sit you at my
right hand, until I make your enemies your footstool. 2
The LORD shall send the rod of your strength out of Zion:
rule you in the middle of your enemies. 4 The LORD has
sworn, and will not repent, You are a priest for ever after
the order of Melchizedek.
Jesus the Good Shepherd
Mt 9:36 But when he
saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them,
because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep
having no shepherd. 37 Then said he to his disciples, The
harvest truly is plenteous, but the laborers are few; 38
Pray you therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will
send forth laborers into his harvest.
11:28 Come to
me, all you that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give
you rest. 29 Take my yoke on you, and learn of me; for I
am meek and lowly in heart: and you shall find rest to your
souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
12:16 And charged them that they should not make him
known: 17 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by
Esaias the prophet, saying, 18 Behold my servant, whom I
have chosen; my beloved, in whom my soul is well pleased: I
will put my spirit on him, and he shall show judgment to the
Gentiles. 19 He shall not strive, nor cry; neither shall
any man hear his voice in the streets. 20 A bruised reed
shall he not break, and smoking flax shall he not quench,
till he send forth judgment to victory. 21 And in his
name shall the Gentiles trust.
14:14 And Jesus went
forth, and saw a great multitude, and was moved with
compassion toward them, and he healed their sick.
22:15 Then went the Pharisees, and took counsel how they
might entangle him in his talk. 16 And they sent out to
him their disciples with the Herodians, saying, Master, we
know that you are true, and teach the way of God in truth,
neither care you for any man: for you regard not the person
of men.
26:31 Then said Jesus to them, All you shall
be offended because of me this night: for it is written, I
will smite the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock shall be
scattered abroad. 32 But after I am risen again, I will
go before you into Galilee.
Mr 1:39 And he
preached in their synagogues throughout all Galilee, and
cast out devils. 40 And there came a leper to him,
beseeching him, and kneeling down to him, and saying to him,
If you will, you can make me clean. 41 And Jesus, moved
with compassion, put forth his hand, and touched him, and
said to him, I will; be you clean. 42 And as soon as he
had spoken, immediately the leprosy departed from him, and
he was cleansed.
Lu 4:17 And there was
delivered to him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he
had opened the book, he found the place where it was
written, 18 The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he
has anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he has
sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to
the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set
at liberty them that are bruised, 19 To preach the
acceptable year of the Lord. 20 And he closed the book,
and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the
eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on
him. 21 And he began to say to them, This day is this
scripture fulfilled in your ears.
15:1 Then drew near
to him all the publicans and sinners for to hear him. 2
And the Pharisees and scribes murmured, saying, This man
receives sinners, and eats with them.
19:9 And Jesus
said to him, This day is salvation come to this house, as
much as he also is a son of Abraham. 10 For the Son of
man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.
22:31 And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan has
desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: 32
But I have prayed for you, that your faith fail not: and
when you are converted, strengthen your brothers.
23:34 Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know
not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast
lots.
Joh 10:1 Truly, truly, I say to you, He
that enters not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbs
up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber. 2
But he that enters in by the door is the shepherd of the
sheep. 3 To him the porter opens; and the sheep hear his
voice: and he calls his own sheep by name, and leads them
out. 4 And when he puts forth his own sheep, he goes
before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his
voice. 5 And a stranger will they not follow, but will
flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers.
6 This parable spoke Jesus to them: but they understood not
what things they were which he spoke to them. 7 Then said
Jesus to them again, Truly, truly, I say to you, I am the
door of the sheep. 8 All that ever came before me are
thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them. 9 I
am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved,
and shall go in and out, and find pasture.
10:10 The
thief comes not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to
destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they
might have it more abundantly. 11 I am the good shepherd:
the good shepherd gives his life for the sheep. 12 But he
that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the
sheep are not, sees the wolf coming, and leaves the sheep,
and flees: and the wolf catches them, and scatters the
sheep. 13 The hireling flees, because he is an hireling,
and cares not for the sheep.
10:14 I am the good
shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine. 15 As
the Father knows me, even so know I the Father: and I lay
down my life for the sheep. 16 And other sheep I have,
which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they
shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one
shepherd.
10:28 And I give to them eternal life; and
they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them
out of my hand. 29 My Father, which gave them me, is
greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my
Father’s hand. 30 I and my Father are one.
13:1
Now before the feast of the passover, when Jesus knew that
his hour was come that he should depart out of this world to
the Father, having loved his own which were in the world, he
loved them to the end. 34 A new commandment I give to
you, That you love one another; as I have loved you, that
you also love one another.
14:27 Peace I leave with
you, my peace I give to you: not as the world gives, give I
to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be
afraid.
15:9 As the Father has loved me, so have I
loved you: continue you in my love. 11 These things have
I spoken to you, that my joy might remain in you, and that
your joy might be full. 12 This is my commandment, That
you love one another, as I have loved you. 13 Greater
love has no man than this, that a man lay down his life for
his friends.
16:33 These things I have spoken to you,
that in me you might have peace. In the world you shall have
tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the
world.
Acts 10:36 The word which God sent to
the children of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ: (he
is Lord of all:) 37 That word, I say, you know, which was
published throughout all Judaea, and began from Galilee,
after the baptism which John preached; 38 How God
anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with
power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were
oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.
Rom
8:34 Who is he that comdemns? It is Christ that died, yes
rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand
of God, who also makes intercession for us. 35 Who shall
separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or
distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril,
or sword? 36 As it is written, For your sake we are
killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the
slaughter. 37 No, in all these things we are more than
conquerors through him that loved us. 38 For I am
persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor
principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things
to come, 39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other
creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God,
which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
15:7 Why receive
you one another, as Christ also received us to the glory of
God.
2 Cor 5:14 For the love of Christ
constrains us; because we thus judge, that if one died for
all, then were all dead: 15 And that he died for all,
that they which live should not from now on live to
themselves, but to him which died for them, and rose again.
10:1 Now I Paul myself beseech you by the meekness and
gentleness of Christ, who in presence am base among you, but
being absent am bold toward you:
Eph 3:19 And
to know the love of Christ, which passes knowledge, that you
might be filled with all the fullness of God.
5:1 Be
you therefore followers of God, as dear children; 2 And
walk in love, as Christ also has loved us, and has given
himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a
sweet smelling smell. 25 Husbands, love your wives, even
as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;
1 Tim 1:15 This is a faithful saying, and worthy
of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to
save sinners; of whom I am chief. 16 However, for this
cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might
show forth all long-suffering, for a pattern to them which
should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting.
Heb 2:16 For truly he took not on him the nature of
angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham. 17 Why in
all things it behooved him to be made like to his brothers,
that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in
things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the
sins of the people. 18 For in that he himself has
suffered being tempted, he is able to succor them that are
tempted.
4:15 For we have not an high priest which
cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but
was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.
7:24 But this man, because he continues ever, has an
unchangeable priesthood. 25 Why he is able also to save
them to the uttermost that come to God by him, seeing he
ever lives to make intercession for them.
13:20 Now
the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord
Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood
of the everlasting covenant,
1 Pe 2:25 For you
were as sheep going astray; but are now returned to the
Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.
5:4 And when the
chief Shepherd shall appear, you shall receive a crown of
glory that fades not away.
1 Joh 2:1 My little
children, these things write I to you, that you sin not. And
if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus
Christ the righteous: 2 And he is the propitiation for
our sins: and not for our’s only, but also for the sins of
the whole world.
3:16 Hereby perceive we the love of
God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to
lay down our lives for the brothers.
Jude 1:20
But you, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy
faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, 21 Keep yourselves in
the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus
Christ to eternal life.
Rev 1:5 And from Jesus
Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten
of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. To
him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own
blood,
Ps 23:1 The LORD is my shepherd; I
shall not want. 2 He makes me to lie down in green
pastures: he leads me beside the still waters. 3 He
restores my soul: he leads me in the paths of righteousness
for his name’s sake. 4 Yes, though I walk through the
valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for you
are with me; your rod and your staff they comfort me.
Isa 9:6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is
given: and the government shall be on his shoulder: and his
name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God,
The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
11:1 And
there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a
Branch shall grow out of his roots: 2 And the spirit of
the LORD shall rest on him, the spirit of wisdom and
understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit
of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD; 3 And shall
make him of quick understanding in the fear of the LORD: and
he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither
reprove after the hearing of his ears: 4 But with
righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with
equity for the meek of the earth: and he shall smite the
earth: with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his
lips shall he slay the wicked. 5 And righteousness shall
be the girdle of his loins, and faithfulness the girdle of
his reins.
40:9 O Zion, that bring good tidings, get
you up into the high mountain; O Jerusalem, that bring good
tidings, lift up your voice with strength; lift it up, be
not afraid; say to the cities of Judah, Behold your God!
10 Behold, the Lord GOD will come with strong hand, and his
arm shall rule for him: behold, his reward is with him, and
his work before him. 11 He shall feed his flock like a
shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry
them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with
young.
42:1 Behold my servant, whom I uphold; my
elect, in whom my soul delights; I have put my spirit on
him: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles. 2 He
shall not cry, nor lift up, nor cause his voice to be heard
in the street. 3 A bruised reed shall he not break, and
the smoking flax shall he not quench: he shall bring forth
judgment to truth. 4 He shall not fail nor be
discouraged, till he have set judgment in the earth: and the
isles shall wait for his law.
61:1 The Spirit of the
Lord GOD is on me; because the LORD has anointed me to
preach good tidings to the meek; he has sent me to bind up
the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and
the opening of the prison to them that are bound; 2 To
proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of
vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn; 3 To
appoint to them that mourn in Zion, to give to them beauty
for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of
praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be
called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD,
that he might be glorified.
Eze 34:23 And I
will set up one shepherd over them, and he shall feed them,
even my servant David; he shall feed them, and he shall be
their shepherd.
Zec 9:9 Rejoice greatly, O
daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold,
your King comes to you: he is just, and having salvation;
lowly, and riding on an ass, and on a colt the foal of an
ass.
13:7 Awake, O sword, against my shepherd, and
against the man that is my fellow, said the LORD of hosts:
smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered: and I
will turn my hand on the little ones.
Jesus - Image of the Father
Joh 6:27 Labor
not for the meat which perishes, but for that meat which
endures to everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give
to you: for him has God the Father sealed.
8:19 Then
said they to him, Where is your Father? Jesus answered, You
neither know me, nor my Father: if you had known me, you
should have known my Father also.
10:28 And I give to
them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither
shall any man pluck them out of my hand. 29 My Father,
which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able
to pluck them out of my Father’s hand. 30 I and my Father
are one.
14:7 If you had known me, you should have
known my Father also: and from now on you know him, and have
seen him. 8 Philip said to him, Lord, show us the Father,
and it suffises us. 9 Jesus said to him, Have I been so
long time with you, and yet have you not known me, Philip?
he that has seen me has seen the Father; and how say you
then, Show us the Father? 10 Believe you not that I am in
the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak to
you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwells in me,
he does the works.
Col 1:15 Who is the image
of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: 16
For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and
that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be
thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all
things were created by him, and for him: 17 And he is
before all things, and by him all things consist.
Heb 1:1 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners
spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, 2 Has
in these last days spoken to us by his Son, whom he has
appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the
worlds; 3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the
express image of his person, and upholding all things by the
word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins,
sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high:
Isa 63:9 In all their affliction he was afflicted,
and the angel of his presence saved them: in his love and in
his pity he redeemed them; and he bore them, and carried
them all the days of old.
Jesus - the light of the world
Mt 4:12 Now when Jesus had heard
that John was cast into prison, he departed into Galilee;
13 And leaving Nazareth, he came and dwelled in Capernaum,
which is on the sea coast, in the borders of Zabulon and
Nephthalim: 14 That it might be fulfilled which was
spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, 15 The land of
Zabulon, and the land of Nephthalim, by the way of the sea,
beyond Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles; 16 The people
which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them which sat
in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up. 17
From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent:
for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
Lu 2:25
And, behold, there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was
Simeon; and the same man was just and devout, waiting for
the consolation of Israel: and the Holy Ghost was on him.
26 And it was revealed to him by the Holy Ghost, that he
should not see death, before he had seen the Lord’s Christ.
27 And he came by the Spirit into the temple: and when the
parents brought in the child Jesus, to do for him after the
custom of the law, 28 Then took he him up in his arms,
and blessed God, and said, 29 Lord, now let you your
servant depart in peace, according to your word: 30 For
my eyes have seen your salvation, 31 Which you have
prepared before the face of all people; 32 A light to
lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of your people Israel.
33 And Joseph and his mother marveled at those things which
were spoken of him.
Joh 1:4 In him was life;
and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shines
in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. 6
There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. 7 The
same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that
all men through him might believe. 8 He was not that
Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. 9 That
was the true Light, which lights every man that comes into
the world. 10 He was in the world, and the world was made
by him, and the world knew him not.
8:12 Then spoke
Jesus again to them, saying, I am the light of the world: he
that follows me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have
the light of life. 13 The Pharisees therefore said to
him, You bore record of yourself; your record is not true.
14 Jesus answered and said to them, Though I bear record of
myself, yet my record is true: for I know from where I came,
and where I go; but you cannot tell from where I come, and
where I go.
9:3 Jesus answered, Neither has this man
sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be
made manifest in him. 4 I must work the works of him that
sent me, while it is day: the night comes, when no man can
work. 5 As long as I am in the world, I am the light of
the world.
12:34 The people answered him, We have
heard out of the law that Christ stays for ever: and how say
you, The Son of man must be lifted up? who is this Son of
man? 35 Then Jesus said to them, Yet a little while is
the light with you. Walk while you have the light, lest
darkness come on you: for he that walks in darkness knows
not where he goes. 36 While you have light, believe in
the light, that you may be the children of light. These
things spoke Jesus, and departed, and did hide himself from
them.
12:44 Jesus cried and said, He that believes on
me, believes not on me, but on him that sent me. 45 And
he that sees me sees him that sent me. 46 I am come a
light into the world, that whoever believes on me should not
abide in darkness.
Acts 13:46 Then Paul and
Barnabas waxed bold, and said, It was necessary that the
word of God should first have been spoken to you: but seeing
you put it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of
everlasting life, see, we turn to the Gentiles. 47 For so
has the Lord commanded us, saying, I have set you to be a
light of the Gentiles, that you should be for salvation to
the ends of the earth. 48 And when the Gentiles heard
this, they were glad, and glorified the word of the Lord:
and as many as were ordained to eternal life believed.
Isa 42:1 Behold my servant, whom I uphold; my
elect, in whom my soul delights; I have put my spirit on
him: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles. 2 He
shall not cry, nor lift up, nor cause his voice to be heard
in the street. 3 A bruised reed shall he not break, and
the smoking flax shall he not quench: he shall bring forth
judgment to truth. 4 He shall not fail nor be
discouraged, till he have set judgment in the earth: and the
isles shall wait for his law. 5 Thus said God the LORD,
he that created the heavens, and stretched them out; he that
spread forth the earth, and that which comes out of it; he
that gives breath to the people on it, and spirit to them
that walk therein: 6 I the LORD have called you in
righteousness, and will hold your hand, and will keep you,
and give you for a covenant of the people, for a light of
the Gentiles; 7 To open the blind eyes, to bring out the
prisoners from the prison, and them that sit in darkness out
of the prison house.
49:6 And he said, It is a light
thing that you should be my servant to raise up the tribes
of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of Israel: I will
also give you for a light to the Gentiles, that you may be
my salvation to the end of the earth.
8 Thus said the
LORD, In an acceptable time have I heard you, and in a day
of salvation have I helped you: and I will preserve you, and
give you for a covenant of the people, to establish the
earth, to cause to inherit the desolate heritages; 9 That
you may say to the prisoners, Go forth; to them that are in
darkness, Show yourselves. They shall feed in the ways, and
their pastures shall be in all high places.
Jesus came from heaven
Joh 1:1 In the
beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the
Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God.
14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelled among us, (and
we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of
the Father,) full of grace and truth.
3:11 Truly,
truly, I say to you, We speak that we do know, and testify
that we have seen; and you receive not our witness. 12 If
I have told you earthly things, and you believe not, how
shall you believe, if I tell you of heavenly things? 13
And no man has ascended up to heaven, but he that came down
from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.
3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only
begotten Son, that whoever believes in him should not
perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not
his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the
world through him might be saved.
3:30 He must
increase, but I must decrease. 31 He that comes from
above is above all: he that is of the earth is earthly, and
speaks of the earth: he that comes from heaven is above all.
32 And what he has seen and heard, that he testifies; and no
man receives his testimony. 33 He that has received his
testimony has set to his seal that God is true. 34 For he
whom God has sent speaks the words of God: for God gives not
the Spirit by measure to him.
5:23 That all men
should honor the Son, even as they honor the Father. He that
honors not the Son honors not the Father which has sent him.
24 Truly, truly, I say to you, He that hears my word, and
believes on him that sent me, has everlasting life, and
shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death
to life.
5:30 I can of my own self do nothing: as I
hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not
my own will, but the will of the Father which has sent me.
5:36 But I have greater witness than that of John: for
the works which the Father has given me to finish, the same
works that I do, bear witness of me, that the Father has
sent me. 37 And the Father himself, which has sent me,
has borne witness of me. You have neither heard his voice at
any time, nor seen his shape. 38 And you have not his
word abiding in you: for whom he has sent, him you believe
not.
6:28 Then said they to him, What shall we do,
that we might work the works of God? 29 Jesus answered
and said to them, This is the work of God, that you believe
on him whom he has sent.
6:32 Then Jesus said to
them, Truly, truly, I say to you, Moses gave you not that
bread from heaven; but my Father gives you the true bread
from heaven. 33 For the bread of God is he which comes
down from heaven, and gives life to the world. 34 Then
said they to him, Lord, ever more give us this bread. 35
And Jesus said to them, I am the bread of life: he that
comes to me shall never hunger; and he that believes on me
shall never thirst.
6:38 For I came down from heaven,
not to do my own will, but the will of him that sent me.
39 And this is the Father’s will which has sent me, that of
all which he has given me I should lose nothing, but should
raise it up again at the last day.
6:41 The Jews then
murmured at him, because he said, I am the bread which came
down from heaven. 42 And they said, Is not this Jesus,
the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? how is
it then that he said, I came down from heaven? 43 Jesus
therefore answered and said to them, Murmur not among
yourselves. 44 No man can come to me, except the Father
which has sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the
last day.
6:48 I am that bread of life. 49 Your
fathers did eat manna in the wilderness, and are dead. 50
This is the bread which comes down from heaven, that a man
may eat thereof, and not die. 51 I am the living bread
which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread,
he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my
flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.
6:57 As the living Father has sent me, and I live by the
Father: so he that eats me, even he shall live by me. 58
This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your
fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eats of this
bread shall live for ever. 59 These things said he in the
synagogue, as he taught in Capernaum.
7:15 And the
Jews marveled, saying, How knows this man letters, having
never learned? 16 Jesus answered them, and said, My
doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me. 17 If any man
will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it
be of God, or whether I speak of myself. 18 He that
speaks of himself seeks his own glory: but he that seeks his
glory that sent him, the same is true, and no
unrighteousness is in him.
7:27 However, we know this
man from where he is: but when Christ comes, no man knows
from where he is. 28 Then cried Jesus in the temple as he
taught, saying, You both know me, and you know from where I
am: and I am not come of myself, but he that sent me is
true, whom you know not. 29 But I know him: for I am from
him, and he has sent me. 30 Then they sought to take him:
but no man laid hands on him, because his hour was not yet
come.
7:32 The Pharisees heard that the people
murmured such things concerning him; and the Pharisees and
the chief priests sent officers to take him. 33 Then said
Jesus to them, Yet a little while am I with you, and then I
go to him that sent me. 34 You shall seek me, and shall
not find me: and where I am, thither you cannot come.
8:15 You judge after the flesh; I judge no man. 16
And yet if I judge, my judgment is true: for I am not alone,
but I and the Father that sent me. 17 It is also written
in your law, that the testimony of two men is true. 18 I
am one that bear witness of myself, and the Father that sent
me bears witness of me. 19 Then said they to him, Where
is your Father? Jesus answered, You neither know me, nor my
Father: if you had known me, you should have known my Father
also. 20 These words spoke Jesus in the treasury, as he
taught in the temple: and no man laid hands on him; for his
hour was not yet come.
8:23 And he said to them, You
are from beneath; I am from above: you are of this world; I
am not of this world. 24 I said therefore to you, that
you shall die in your sins: for if you believe not that I am
he, you shall die in your sins. 25 Then said they to him,
Who are you? And Jesus said to them, Even the same that I
said to you from the beginning. 26 I have many things to
say and to judge of you: but he that sent me is true; and I
speak to the world those things which I have heard of him.
27 They understood not that he spoke to them of the Father.
8:28 Then said Jesus to them, When you have lifted up
the Son of man, then shall you know that I am he, and that I
do nothing of myself; but as my Father has taught me, I
speak these things. 29 And he that sent me is with me:
the Father has not left me alone; for I do always those
things that please him. 30 As he spoke these words, many
believed on him.
8:41 You do the deeds of your
father. Then said they to him, We be not born of
fornication; we have one Father, even God. 42 Jesus said
to them, If God were your Father, you would love me: for I
proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself,
but he sent me.
9:4 I must work the works of him that
sent me, while it is day: the night comes, when no man can
work.
10:34 Jesus answered them, Is it not written in
your law, I said, You are gods? 35 If he called them
gods, to whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot
be broken; 36 Say you of him, whom the Father has
sanctified, and sent into the world, You blaspheme; because
I said, I am the Son of God?
11:41 Then they took
away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And
Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank you that
you have heard me. 42 And I knew that you hear me always:
but because of the people which stand by I said it, that
they may believe that you have sent me. 43 And when he
thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come
forth.
12:44 Jesus cried and said, He that believes
on me, believes not on me, but on him that sent me. 45
And he that sees me sees him that sent me. 46 I am come a
light into the world, that whoever believes on me should not
abide in darkness. 47 And if any man hear my words, and
believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the
world, but to save the world. 48 He that rejects me, and
receives not my words, has one that judges him: the word
that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last
day. 49 For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father
which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say,
and what I should speak.
13:3 Jesus knowing that the
Father had given all things into his hands, and that he was
come from God, and went to God; 4 He rises from supper,
and laid aside his garments; and took a towel, and girded
himself.
13:20 Truly, truly, I say to you, He that
receives whomsoever I send receives me; and he that receives
me receives him that sent me. 21 When Jesus had thus
said, he was troubled in spirit, and testified, and said,
Truly, truly, I say to you, that one of you shall betray me.
15:21 But all these things will they do to you for my
name’s sake, because they know not him that sent me.
16:5 But now I go my way to him that sent me; and none of
you asks me, Where go you?
16:27 For the Father
himself loves you, because you have loved me, and have
believed that I came out from God. 28 I came forth from
the Father, and am come into the world: again, I leave the
world, and go to the Father. 29 His disciples said to
him, See, now speak you plainly, and speak no proverb. 30
Now are we sure that you know all things, and need not that
any man should ask you: by this we believe that you came
forth from God. 31 Jesus answered them, Do you now
believe?
17:1 These words spoke Jesus, and lifted up
his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come;
glorify your Son, that your Son also may glorify you: 3
And this is life eternal, that they might know you the only
true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent. 4 I have
glorified you on the earth: I have finished the work which
you gave me to do. 5 And now, O Father, glorify you me
with your own self with the glory which I had with you
before the world was. 8 For I have given to them the
words which you gave me; and they have received them, and
have known surely that I came out from you, and they have
believed that you did send me.
17:20 Neither pray I
for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me
through their word; 21 That they all may be one; as you,
Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be one
in us: that the world may believe that you have sent me.
22 And the glory which you gave me I have given them; that
they may be one, even as we are one: 23 I in them, and
you in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that
the world may know that you have sent me, and have loved
them, as you have loved me.
17:24 Father, I will that
they also, whom you have given me, be with me where I am;
that they may behold my glory, which you have given me: for
you loved me before the foundation of the world. 25 O
righteous Father, the world has not known you: but I have
known you, and these have known that you have sent me. 26
And I have declared to them your name, and will declare it:
that the love with which you have loved me may be in them,
and I in them.
Acts 3:19 Repent you therefore,
and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when
the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the
Lord. 20 And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was
preached to you: 21 Whom the heaven must receive until
the times of restitution of all things, which God has spoken
by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began.
26 To you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent
him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his
iniquities.
Rom 8:3 For what the law could not
do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his
own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin,
condemned sin in the flesh:
2 Cor 8:9 For you
know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was
rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that you through
his poverty might be rich.
Gal 4:4 But when
the fullness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son,
made of a woman, made under the law, 5 To redeem them
that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption
of sons.
Eph 4:7 But to every one of us is
given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.
8 Why he said, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity
captive, and gave gifts to men. 9 (Now that he ascended,
what is it but that he also descended first into the lower
parts of the earth? 10 He that descended is the same also
that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill
all things.)
Php 2:5 Let this mind be in you,
which was also in Christ Jesus: 6 Who, being in the form
of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7
But made himself of no reputation, and took on him the form
of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: 8 And
being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and
became obedient to death, even the death of the cross. 9
Why God also has highly exalted him, and given him a name
which is above every name: 10 That at the name of Jesus
every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in
earth, and things under the earth; 11 And that every
tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the
glory of God the Father.
1 Tim 1:15 This is a
faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ
Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am
chief.
Heb 2:14 For as much then as the
children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself
likewise took part of the same; that through death he might
destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;
15 And deliver them who through fear of death were all their
lifetime subject to bondage.
12:2 Looking to Jesus
the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that
was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame,
and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
1 Pe 1:19 But with the precious blood of Christ,
as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: 20 Who
truly was foreordained before the foundation of the world,
but was manifest in these last times for you,
1
Joh 1:1 That which was from the beginning, which we have
heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have
looked on, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life;
2 (For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and
bear witness, and show to you that eternal life, which was
with the Father, and was manifested to us;)
3:8 He
that commits sin is of the devil; for the devil sins from
the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was
manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
4:9 In this was manifested the love of God toward us,
because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world,
that we might live through him. 10 Herein is love, not
that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to
be the propitiation for our sins. 14 And we have seen and
do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Savior of
the world.
Isa 48:13 My hand also has laid the
foundation of the earth, and my right hand has spanned the
heavens: when I call to them, they stand up together. 16
Come you near to me, hear you this; I have not spoken in
secret from the beginning; from the time that it was, there
am I: and now the Lord GOD, and his Spirit, has sent me.
Patterns of Christ
Mt 12:40 For as Jonas
was three days and three nights in the whale’s belly; so
shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the
heart of the earth. 41 The men of Nineveh shall rise in
judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: because
they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a
greater than Jonas is here.
12:42 The queen of the
south shall rise up in the judgment with this generation,
and shall condemn it: for she came from the uttermost parts
of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a
greater than Solomon is here.
Joh 1:17 For the
law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus
Christ.
3:14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in
the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:
15 That whoever believes in him should not perish, but have
eternal life.
Rom 5:14 Nevertheless death
reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not
sinned after the similitude of Adam’s transgression, who is
the figure of him that was to come.
1 Cor
15:22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be
made alive. 45 And so it is written, The first man Adam
was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening
spirit. 47 The first man is of the earth, earthy; the
second man is the Lord from heaven.
Heb 3:1
Why, holy brothers, partakers of the heavenly calling,
consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession,
Christ Jesus; 2 Who was faithful to him that appointed
him, as also Moses was faithful in all his house.
5:1
For every high priest taken from among men is ordained for
men in things pertaining to God, that he may offer both
gifts and sacrifices for sins: 4 And no man takes this
honor to himself, but he that is called of God, as was
Aaron. 5 So also Christ glorified not himself to be made
an high priest; but he that said to him, You are my Son, to
day have I begotten you.
5:5 So also Christ glorified
not himself to be made an high priest; but he that said to
him, You are my Son, to day have I begotten you. 6 As he
said also in another place, You are a priest for ever after
the order of Melchisedec. 10 Called of God an high priest
after the order of Melchisedec.
9:15 And for this
cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means
of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were
under the first testament, they which are called might
receive the promise of eternal inheritance. 18 Whereupon
neither the first testament was dedicated without blood.
19 For when Moses had spoken every precept to all the people
according to the law, he took the blood of calves and of
goats, with water, and scarlet wool, and hyssop, and
sprinkled both the book, and all the people, 20 Saying,
This is the blood of the testament which God has enjoined to
you.
11:17 By faith Abraham, when he was tried,
offered up Isaac: and he that had received the promises
offered up his only begotten son, 18 Of whom it was said,
That in Isaac shall your seed be called: 19 Accounting
that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead; from
where also he received him in a figure.
12:21 And so
terrible was the sight, that Moses said, I exceedingly fear
and quake:) 22 But you are come to mount Sion, and to the
city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an
innumerable company of angels, 24 And to Jesus the
mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of
sprinkling, that speaks better things that that of Abel.
Eze 37:24 And David my servant shall be king over
them; and they all shall have one shepherd: they shall also
walk in my judgments, and observe my statutes, and do them.
The human nature of Christ
Mt 1:1 The
book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David,
the son of Abraham.
1:16 And Jacob begat Joseph the
husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called
Christ. 25 And knew her not till she had brought forth
her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.
4:2
And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was
afterward an hungered.
8:19 And a certain scribe
came, and said to him, Master, I will follow you wherever
you go. 20 And Jesus said to him, The foxes have holes,
and the birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man has
not where to lay his head.
8:24 And, behold, there
arose a great tempest in the sea, so that the ship was
covered with the waves: but he was asleep. 25 And his
disciples came to him, and awoke him, saying, Lord, save us:
we perish.
16:13 When Jesus came into the coasts of
Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do
men say that I the Son of man am?
21:17 And he left
them, and went out of the city into Bethany; and he lodged
there. 18 Now in the morning as he returned into the
city, he hungry.
26:38 Then said he to them, My soul
is exceeding sorrowful, even to death: tarry you here, and
watch with me.
27:50 Jesus, when he had cried again
with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost.
27:57 When
the even was come, there came a rich man of Arimathaea,
named Joseph, who also himself was Jesus’ disciple: 58 He
went to Pilate, and begged the body of Jesus. Then Pilate
commanded the body to be delivered. 59 And when Joseph
had taken the body, he wrapped it in a clean linen cloth,
60 And laid it in his own new tomb, which he had hewn out in
the rock: and he rolled a great stone to the door of the
sepulcher, and departed.
Mr 6:1 And he went
out from there, and came into his own country; and his
disciples follow him. 2 And when the sabbath day was
come, he began to teach in the synagogue: and many hearing
him were astonished, saying, From where has this man these
things? and what wisdom is this which is given to him, that
even such mighty works are worked by his hands? 3 Is not
this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James,
and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon? and are not his sisters
here with us? And they were offended at him. 4 But Jesus,
said to them, A prophet is not without honor, but in his own
country, and among his own kin, and in his own house.
Lu 1:31 And, behold, you shall conceive in your
womb, and bring forth a son, and shall call his name JESUS.
2:6 And so it was, that, while they were there, the days
were accomplished that she should be delivered. 7 And she
brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in
swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there
was no room for them in the inn.
2:41 Now his parents
went to Jerusalem every year at the feast of the passover.
42 And when he was twelve years old, they went up to
Jerusalem after the custom of the feast. 43 And when they
had fulfilled the days, as they returned, the child Jesus
tarried behind in Jerusalem; and Joseph and his mother knew
not of it. 51 And he went down with them, and came to
Nazareth, and was subject to them: but his mother kept all
these sayings in her heart. 52 And Jesus increased in
wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.
19:41 And when he was come near, he beheld the city, and
wept over it,
22:44 And being in an agony he prayed
more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of
blood falling down to the ground.
Joh 1:14 And
the Word was made flesh, and dwelled among us, (and we
beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the
Father,) full of grace and truth.
4:6 Now Jacob’s
well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied with his
journey, sat thus on the well: and it was about the sixth
hour. 7 There comes a woman of Samaria to draw water:
Jesus said to her, Give me to drink.
11:33 When Jesus
therefore saw her weeping, and the Jews also weeping which
came with her, he groaned in the spirit, and was troubled.
34 And said, Where have you laid him? They said to him,
Lord, come and see. 35 Jesus wept.
19:5 Then came
Jesus forth, wearing the crown of thorns, and the purple
robe. And Pilate said to them, Behold the man!
19:32
Then came the soldiers, and broke the legs of the first, and
of the other which was crucified with him. 33 But when
they came to Jesus, and saw that he was dead already, they
broke not his legs: 34 But one of the soldiers with a
spear pierced his side, and immediately came there out blood
and water.
Acts 2:22 You men of Israel, hear
these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among
you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him
in the middle of you, as you yourselves also know:
3:22 For Moses truly said to the fathers, A prophet shall
the Lord your God raise up to you of your brothers, like to
me; him shall you hear in all things whatever he shall say
to you.
13:22 And when he had removed him, he raised
up to them David to be their king; to whom also he gave
their testimony, and said, I have found David the son of
Jesse, a man after my own heart, which shall fulfill all my
will. 23 Of this man’s seed has God according to his
promise raised to Israel a Savior, Jesus:
Rom
5:15 But not as the offense, so also is the free gift. For
if through the offense of one many be dead, much more the
grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man,
Jesus Christ, has abounded to many. 18 Therefore as by
the offense of one judgment came on all men to condemnation;
even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came on
all men to justification of life. 19 For as by one man’s
disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of
one shall many be made righteous.
1 Cor 15:20
But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the first
fruits of them that slept. 21 For since by man came
death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead.
2 Cor 5:16 Why from now on know we no man after
the flesh: yes, though we have known Christ after the flesh,
yet now from now on know we him no more.
Gal
3:16 Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He
said not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to
your seed, which is Christ.
Php 2:5 Let this
mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 6 Who,
being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal
with God: 7 But made himself of no reputation, and took
on him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness
of men:
1 Tim 2:5 For there is one God, and
one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; 6
Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due
time.
2 Tim 2:8 Remember that Jesus Christ of
the seed of David was raised from the dead according to my
gospel:
Heb 2:14 For as much then as the
children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself
likewise took part of the same; that through death he might
destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;
17 Why in all things it behooved him to be made like to his
brothers, that he might be a merciful and faithful high
priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation
for the sins of the people. 18 For in that he himself has
suffered being tempted, he is able to succor them that are
tempted.
4:15 For we have not an high priest which
cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but
was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.
5:7 Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up
prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears to
him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in
that he feared;
1 Joh 1:1 That which was from
the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with
our eyes, which we have looked on, and our hands have
handled, of the Word of life;
Names of Christ in the Bible
Mt 1:21 And
she shall bring forth a son, and you shall call his name
JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins. 22
Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was
spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, 23 Behold, a
virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and
they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted
is, God with us. 24 Then Joseph being raised from sleep
did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took to him
his wife: 25 And knew her not till she had brought forth
her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.
2:1
Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days
of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east
to Jerusalem, 2 Saying, Where is he that is born King of
the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are
come to worship him.
2:23 And he came and dwelled in
a city called Nazareth: that it might be fulfilled which was
spoken by the prophets, He shall be called a Nazarene.
8:19 And a certain scribe came, and said to him, Master,
I will follow you wherever you go. 20 And Jesus said to
him, The foxes have holes, and the birds of the air have
nests; but the Son of man has not where to lay his head.
21 And another of his disciples said to him, Lord, suffer me
first to go and bury my father. 22 But Jesus said to him,
Follow me; and let the dead bury their dead.
9:27 And
when Jesus departed there, two blind men followed him,
crying, and saying, You son of David, have mercy on us.
16:13 When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea
Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say
that I the Son of man am? 14 And they said, Some say that
you are John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias,
or one of the prophets. 15 He said to them, But whom say
you that I am? 16 And Simon Peter answered and said, You
are the Christ, the Son of the living God. 17 And Jesus
answered and said to him, Blessed are you, Simon Barjona:
for flesh and blood has not revealed it to you, but my
Father which is in heaven.
Mr 1:23 And there
was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit; and he
cried out, 24 Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do
with you, you Jesus of Nazareth? are you come to destroy us?
I know you who you are, the Holy One of God. 25 And Jesus
rebuked him, saying, Hold your peace, and come out of him.
14:60 And the high priest stood up in the middle, and
asked Jesus, saying, Answer you nothing? what is it which
these witness against you? 61 But he held his peace, and
answered nothing. Again the high priest asked him, and said
to him, Are you the Christ, the Son of the Blessed? 62
And Jesus said, I am: and you shall see the Son of man
sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds
of heaven.
Lu 1:31 And, behold, you shall
conceive in your womb, and bring forth a son, and shall call
his name JESUS. 32 He shall be great, and shall be called
the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give to him
the throne of his father David: 33 And he shall reign
over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there
shall be no end. 34 Then said Mary to the angel, How
shall this be, seeing I know not a man? 35 And the angel
answered and said to her, The Holy Ghost shall come on you,
and the power of the Highest shall overshadow you: therefore
also that holy thing which shall be born of you shall be
called the Son of God.
1:68 Blessed be the Lord God
of Israel; for he has visited and redeemed his people, 69
And has raised up an horn of salvation for us in the house
of his servant David;
2:10 And the angel said to
them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of
great joy, which shall be to all people. 11 For to you is
born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ
the Lord.
2:26 And it was revealed to him by the Holy
Ghost, that he should not see death, before he had seen the
Lord’s Christ. 30 For my eyes have seen your salvation,
31 Which you have prepared before the face of all people;
32 A light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of your
people Israel.
9:49 And John answered and said,
Master, we saw one casting out devils in your name; and we
forbade him, because he follows not with us. 50 And Jesus
said to him, Forbid him not: for he that is not against us
is for us.
24:18 And the one of them, whose name was
Cleopas, answering said to him, Are you only a stranger in
Jerusalem, and have not known the things which are come to
pass there in these days? 19 And he said to them, What
things? And they said to him, Concerning Jesus of Nazareth,
which was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and
all the people:
Joh 1:1 In the beginning was
the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelled among us, (and
we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of
the Father,) full of grace and truth.
1:9 That was
the true Light, which lights every man that comes into the
world.
1:29 The next day John sees Jesus coming to
him, and said, Behold the Lamb of God, which takes away the
sin of the world. 35 Again the next day after John stood,
and two of his disciples; 36 And looking on Jesus as he
walked, he said, Behold the Lamb of God!
1:33 And I
knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the
same said to me, On whom you shall see the Spirit
descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which
baptizes with the Holy Ghost. 34 And I saw, and bore
record that this is the Son of God.
1:37 And the two
disciples heard him speak, and they followed Jesus. 38
Then Jesus turned, and saw them following, and said to them,
What seek you? They said to him, Rabbi, (which is to say,
being interpreted, Master,) where dwell you? 39 He said
to them, Come and see. They came and saw where he dwelled,
and stayed with him that day: for it was about the tenth
hour.
1:40 One of the two which heard John speak, and
followed him, was Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother. 41 He
first finds his own brother Simon, and said to him, We have
found the Messias, which is, being interpreted, the Christ.
1:49 Nathanael answered and said to him, Rabbi, you are
the Son of God; you are the King of Israel.
3:1 There
was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the
Jews: 2 The same came to Jesus by night, and said to him,
Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher come from God: for no
man can do these miracles that you do, except God be with
him.
3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave
his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him should
not perish, but have everlasting life. 18 He that
believes on him is not condemned: but he that believes not
is condemned already, because he has not believed in the
name of the only begotten Son of God.
4:25 The woman
said to him, I know that Messias comes, which is called
Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things. 26
Jesus said to her, I that speak to you am he.
4:41
And many more believed because of his own word; 42 And
said to the woman, Now we believe, not because of your
saying: for we have heard him ourselves, and know that this
is indeed the Christ, the Savior of the world.
6:14
Then those men, when they had seen the miracle that Jesus
did, said, This is of a truth that prophet that should come
into the world.
6:27 Labor not for the meat which
perishes, but for that meat which endures to everlasting
life, which the Son of man shall give to you: for him has
God the Father sealed.
6:33 For the bread of God is
he which comes down from heaven, and gives life to the
world. 34 Then said they to him, Lord, ever more give us
this bread. 35 And Jesus said to them, I am the bread of
life: he that comes to me shall never hunger; and he that
believes on me shall never thirst. 48 I am that bread of
life.
6:68 Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to
whom shall we go? you have the words of eternal life. 69
And we believe and are sure that you are that Christ, the
Son of the living God.
7:40 Many of the people
therefore, when they heard this saying, said, Of a truth
this is the Prophet. 41 Others said, This is the Christ.
But some said, Shall Christ come out of Galilee?
8:12
Then spoke Jesus again to them, saying, I am the light of
the world: he that follows me shall not walk in darkness,
but shall have the light of life.
9:5 As long as I am
in the world, I am the light of the world.
10:7 Then
said Jesus to them again, Truly, truly, I say to you, I am
the door of the sheep. 8 All that ever came before me are
thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them. 9 I
am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved,
and shall go in and out, and find pasture.
10:11 I am
the good shepherd: the good shepherd gives his life for the
sheep. 14 I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and
am known of mine.
11:25 Jesus said to her, I am the
resurrection, and the life: he that believes in me, though
he were dead, yet shall he live:
11:27 She said to
him, Yes, Lord: I believe that you are the Christ, the Son
of God, which should come into the world. 28 And when she
had so said, she went her way, and called Mary her sister
secretly, saying, The Master is come, and calls for you.
14:6 Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the
life: no man comes to the Father, but by me.
15:1 I
am the true vine, and my Father is the farmer. 5 I am the
vine, you are the branches: He that stays in me, and I in
him, the same brings forth much fruit: for without me you
can do nothing.
19:19 And Pilate wrote a title, and
put it on the cross. And the writing was JESUS OF NAZARETH
THE KING OF THE JEWS. 20 This title then read many of the
Jews: for the place where Jesus was crucified was near to
the city: and it was written in Hebrew, and Greek, and
Latin. 21 Then said the chief priests of the Jews to
Pilate, Write not, The King of the Jews; but that he said, I
am King of the Jews. 22 Pilate answered, What I have
written I have written.
Acts 3:14 But you
denied the Holy One and the Just, and desired a murderer to
be granted to you; 15 And killed the Prince of life, whom
God has raised from the dead; whereof we are witnesses.
18 But those things, which God before had showed by the
mouth of all his prophets, that Christ should suffer, he has
so fulfilled.
3:22 For Moses truly said to the
fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up to you
of your brothers, like to me; him shall you hear in all
things whatever he shall say to you. 26 To you first God,
having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in
turning away every one of you from his iniquities.
4:9 If we this day be examined of the good deed done to the
weak man, by what means he is made whole; 10 Be it known
to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the
name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom
God raised from the dead, even by him does this man stand
here before you whole. 11 This is the stone which was set
at nothing of you builders, which is become the head of the
corner.
5:31 Him has God exalted with his right hand
to be a Prince and a Savior, for to give repentance to
Israel, and forgiveness of sins.
7:52 Which of the
prophets have not your fathers persecuted? and they have
slain them which showed before of the coming of the Just
One; of whom you have been now the betrayers and murderers:
53 Who have received the law by the disposition of angels,
and have not kept it. 54 When they heard these things,
they were cut to the heart, and they gnashed on him with
their teeth.
10:42 And he commanded us to preach to
the people, and to testify that it is he which was ordained
of God to be the Judge of quick and dead.
26:9 I
truly thought with myself, that I ought to do many things
contrary to the name of Jesus of Nazareth.
Rom
11:26 And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written,
There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn
away ungodliness from Jacob:
1 Cor 2:8 Which none of
the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they
would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
5:7 Purge
out therefore the old leaven, that you may be a new lump, as
you are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is
sacrificed for us:
10:1 Moreover, brothers, I would
not that you should be ignorant, how that all our fathers
were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea; 2
And were all baptized to Moses in the cloud and in the sea;
3 And did all eat the same spiritual meat; 4 And did all
drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that
spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.
15:45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made
a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.
46 However, that was not first which is spiritual, but that
which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual.
47 The first man is of the earth, earthy; the second man is
the Lord from heaven.
Eph 5:23 For the husband
is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the
church: and he is the savior of the body.
Php
2:9 Why God also has highly exalted him, and given him a
name which is above every name: 10 That at the name of
Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things
in earth, and things under the earth;
Col 1:15
Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of
every creature:
1:18 And he is the head of the body,
the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the
dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.
2:10 And you are complete in him, which is the head of
all principality and power:
1 Th 1:10 And to
wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead,
even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.
1 Tim 2:5 For there is one God, and one mediator
between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; 6 Who gave
himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.
2 Tim 1:10 But is now made manifest by the
appearing of our Savior Jesus Christ, who has abolished
death, and has brought life and immortality to light through
the gospel:
Heb 1:3 Who being the brightness
of his glory, and the express image of his person, and
upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had
by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of
the Majesty on high: 4 Being made so much better than the
angels, as he has by inheritance obtained a more excellent
name than they. 5 For to which of the angels said he at
any time, You are my Son, this day have I begotten you? And
again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a
Son?
2:10 For it became him, for whom are all things,
and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory,
to make the captain of their salvation perfect through
sufferings.
3:1 Why, holy brothers, partakers of the
heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of
our profession, Christ Jesus; 2 Who was faithful to him
that appointed him, as also Moses was faithful in all his
house.
4:14 Seeing then that we have a great high
priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of
God, let us hold fast our profession. 15 For we have not
an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of
our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we
are, yet without sin.
5:9 And being made perfect, he
became the author of eternal salvation to all them that obey
him; 10 Called of God an high priest after the order of
Melchisedec.
6:20 Where the forerunner is for us
entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the
order of Melchisedec.
8:1 Now of the things which we
have spoken this is the sum: We have such an high priest,
who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in
the heavens;
12:2 Looking to Jesus the author and
finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before
him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down
at the right hand of the throne of God.
12:24 And to
Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of
sprinkling, that speaks better things that that of Abel.
1 Pe 2:4 To whom coming, as to a living stone,
disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious,
5 You also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual
house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices,
acceptable to God by Jesus Christ. 6 Why also it is
contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief
corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believes on him
shall not be confounded.
5:4 And when the chief
Shepherd shall appear, you shall receive a crown of glory
that fades not away.
2 Pe 1:11 For so an
entrance shall be ministered to you abundantly into the
everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
2:20 For if after they have escaped the pollutions of
the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus
Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the
latter end is worse with them than the beginning.
3:1
This second letter, beloved, I now write to you; in both
which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance: 2
That you may be mindful of the words which were spoken
before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us
the apostles of the Lord and Savior:
1 Joh 1:1
That which was from the beginning, which we have heard,
which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked on,
and our hands have handled, of the Word of life; 2 (For
the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear
witness, and show to you that eternal life, which was with
the Father, and was manifested to us;)
2:1 My little
children, these things write I to you, that you sin not. And
if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus
Christ the righteous:
4:14 And we have seen and do
testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Savior of the
world.
5:11 And this is the record, that God has
given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12
He that has the Son has life; and he that has not the Son of
God has not life. 13 These things have I written to you
that believe on the name of the Son of God; that you may
know that you have eternal life, and that you may believe on
the name of the Son of God.
5:20 And we know that the
Son of God is come, and has given us an understanding, that
we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is
true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God,
and eternal life.
Rev 1:5 And from Jesus
Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten
of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. To
him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own
blood,
1:17 And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as
dead. And he laid his right hand on me, saying to me, Fear
not; I am the first and the last: 18 I am he that lives,
and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for ever more, Amen;
and have the keys of hell and of death.
2:8 And to
the angel of the church in Smyrna write; These things said
the first and the last, which was dead, and is alive;
3:7 And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia
write; These things said he that is holy, he that is true,
he that has the key of David, he that opens, and no man
shuts; and shuts, and no man opens;
3:12 Him that
overcomes will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and
he shall go no more out: and I will write on him the name of
my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new
Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from my God: and I
will write on him my new name.
3:14 And to the angel
of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things said the
Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the
creation of God;
5:5 And one of the elders said to
me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the
Root of David, has prevailed to open the book, and to loose
the seven seals thereof. 6 And I beheld, and, see, in the
middle of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the
middle of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain,
having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven
Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth.
13:8
And all that dwell on the earth shall worship him, whose
names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain
from the foundation of the world.
14:1 And I looked,
and, see, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an
hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father’s name
written in their foreheads.
17:14 These shall make
war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he
is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with
him are called, and chosen, and faithful.
19:11 And I
saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat
on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he
does judge and make war. 12 His eyes were as a flame of
fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name
written, that no man knew, but he himself. 13 And he was
clothed with a clothing dipped in blood: and his name is
called The Word of God.
19:15 And out of his mouth
goes a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the
nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he
treads the wine press of the fierceness and wrath of
Almighty God. 16 And he has on his clothing and on his
thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.
21:22 And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God
Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it. 23 And the
city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine
in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is
the light thereof.
22:12 And, behold, I come quickly;
and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his
work shall be. 13 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and
the end, the first and the last.
22:16 I Jesus have
sent my angel to testify to you these things in the
churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the
bright and morning star.
Gen 16:9 And the
angel of the LORD said to her, Return to your mistress, and
submit yourself under her hands. 10 And the angel of the
LORD said to her, I will multiply your seed exceedingly,
that it shall not be numbered for multitude.
Jos
5:13 And it came to pass, when Joshua was by Jericho, that
he lifted up his eyes and looked, and, behold, there stood a
man over against him with his sword drawn in his hand: and
Joshua went to him, and said to him, Are you for us, or for
our adversaries? 14 And he said, No; but as captain of
the host of the LORD am I now come. And Joshua fell on his
face to the earth, and did worship, and said to him, What
said my Lord to his servant? 15 And the captain of the
LORD’s host said to Joshua, Loose your shoe from off your
foot; for the place where on you stand is holy. And Joshua
did so.
Judges 13:17 And Manoah said to the
angel of the LORD, What is your name, that when your sayings
come to pass we may do you honor? 18 And the angel of the
LORD said to him, Why ask you thus after my name, seeing it
is secret? 22 And Manoah said to his wife, We shall
surely die, because we have seen God.
Isa 4:2
In that day shall the branch of the LORD be beautiful and
glorious, and the fruit of the earth shall be excellent and
comely for them that are escaped of Israel.
7:14
Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a
virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his
name Immanuel.
9:6 For to us a child is born, to us a
son is given: and the government shall be on his shoulder:
and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The
mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
11:1 And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of
Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots: 2 And
the spirit of the LORD shall rest on him, the spirit of
wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might,
the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD; 10
And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall
stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles
seek: and his rest shall be glorious.
42:1 Behold my
servant, whom I uphold; my elect, in whom my soul delights;
I have put my spirit on him: he shall bring forth judgment
to the Gentiles.
52:10 The LORD has made bare his
holy arm in the eyes of all the nations; and all the ends of
the earth shall see the salvation of our God. 53 : 1 Who
has believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD
revealed?
55:4 Behold, I have given him for a
witness to the people, a leader and commander to the people.
5 Behold, you shall call a nation that you know not, and
nations that knew not you shall run to you because of the
LORD your God, and for the Holy One of Israel; for he has
glorified you.
59:20 And the Redeemer shall come to
Zion, and to them that turn from transgression in Jacob,
said the LORD.
62:11 Behold, the LORD has proclaimed
to the end of the world, Say you to the daughter of Zion,
Behold, your salvation comes; behold, his reward is with
him, and his work before him.
63:9 In all their
affliction he was afflicted, and the angel of his presence
saved them: in his love and in his pity he redeemed them;
and he bore them, and carried them all the days of old.
Eze 34:23 And I will set up one shepherd over them, and
he shall feed them, even my servant David; he shall feed
them, and he shall be their shepherd.
Dan 9:25
Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of
the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem to the
Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and three score and
two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall,
even in troublous times. 26 And after three score and two
weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the
people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city
and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a
flood, and to the end of the war desolations are determined.
Zec 3:8 Hear now, O Joshua the high priest, you,
and your fellows that sit before you: for they are men
wondered at: for, behold, I will bring forth my servant the
BRANCH. 9 For behold the stone that I have laid before
Joshua; on one stone shall be seven eyes: behold, I will
engrave the engraving thereof, said the LORD of hosts, and I
will remove the iniquity of that land in one day.
6:12 And speak to him, saying, Thus speaks the LORD of
hosts, saying, Behold the man whose name is The BRANCH; and
he shall grow up out of his place, and he shall build the
temple of the LORD: 13 Even he shall build the temple of
the LORD; and he shall bear the glory, and shall sit and
rule on his throne; and he shall be a priest on his throne:
and the counsel of peace shall be between them both.
9:9 Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter
of Jerusalem: behold, your King comes to you: he is just,
and having salvation; lowly, and riding on an ass, and on a
colt the foal of an ass.
13:7 Awake, O sword, against
my shepherd, and against the man that is my fellow, said the
LORD of hosts: smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be
scattered: and I will turn my hand on the little ones.
Mal 3:1 Behold, I will send my messenger, and he
shall prepare the way before me: and the LORD, whom you
seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger
of the covenant, whom you delight in: behold, he shall come,
said the LORD of hosts.
Christ the Head
1 Cor 11:3 But I would have
you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head
of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.
Eph 1:20 Which he worked in Christ, when he
raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand
in the heavenly places, 21 Far above all principality,
and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is
named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to
come: 22 And has put all things under his feet, and gave
him to be the head over all things to the church, 23
Which is his body, the fullness of him that fills all in
all.
4:15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up
into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:
16 From whom the whole body fitly joined together and
compacted by that which every joint supplies, according to
the effectual working in the measure of every part, makes
increase of the body to the edifying of itself in love.
5:22 Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands, as
to the Lord. 23 For the husband is the head of the wife,
even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the
savior of the body. 24 Therefore as the church is subject
to Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in
every thing. 25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ
also loved the church, and gave himself for it;
Col 1:18 And he is the head of the body, the church: who
is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all
things he might have the preeminence. 19 For it pleased
the Father that in him should all fullness dwell;
2:9
For in him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily.
10 And you are complete in him, which is the head of all
principality and power:
2:18 Let no man beguile you
of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of
angels, intruding into those things which he has not seen,
vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind, 19 And not holding
the Head, from which all the body by joints and bands having
nourishment ministered, and knit together, increases with
the increase of God.
Heb 2:10 For it became
him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in
bringing many sons to glory, to make the captain of their
salvation perfect through sufferings. 11 For both he that
sanctifies and they who are sanctified are all of one: for
which cause he is not ashamed to call them brothers,
The coming of the Holy Spirit, the glorification of Jesus
Lu
24:49 And, behold, I send the promise of my Father on you:
but tarry you in the city of Jerusalem, until you be endued
with power from on high.
Joh 7:37 In the last
day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried,
saying, If any man thirst, let him come to me, and drink.
38 He that believes on me, as the scripture has said, out of
his belly shall flow rivers of living water. 39 (But this
spoke he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him
should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given;
because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)
14:16 And
I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another
Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; 17 Even
the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because
it sees him not, neither knows him: but you know him; for he
dwells with you, and shall be in you. 18 I will not leave
you comfortless: I will come to you. 26 But the
Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will
send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring
all things to your remembrance, whatever I have said to you.
15:26 But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send
to you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which
proceeds from the Father, he shall testify of me:
16:7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for
you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will
not come to you; but if I depart, I will send him to you.
Acts 2:32 This Jesus has God raised up, whereof
we all are witnesses. 33 Therefore being by the right
hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the
promise of the Holy Ghost, he has shed forth this, which you
now see and hear. 34 For David is not ascended into the
heavens: but he said himself, The Lord said to my Lord, Sit
you on my right hand, 35 Until I make your foes your
footstool. 36 Therefore let all the house of Israel know
assuredly, that God has made the same Jesus, whom you have
crucified, both Lord and Christ.
5:30 The God of our
fathers raised up Jesus, whom you slew and hanged on a tree.
31 Him has God exalted with his right hand to be a Prince
and a Savior, for to give repentance to Israel, and
forgiveness of sins. 32 And we are his witnesses of these
things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God has given to
them that obey him. 33 When they heard that, they were
cut to the heart, and took counsel to slay them.

Pe 1:12 To whom it was revealed, that not to themselves,
but to us they did minister the things, which are now
reported to you by them that have preached the gospel to you
with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; which things the
angels desire to look into.
