Lu 4:21 And he began
to say to them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your
ears. 22 And all bore him witness, and wondered at the
gracious words which proceeded out of his mouth. And they
said, Is not this Joseph’s son?
Joh 1:14 And
the Word was made flesh, and dwelled among us, (and we
beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the
Father,) full of grace and truth. 15 John bore witness of
him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spoke, He that
comes after me is preferred before me: for he was before me.
16 And of his fullness have all we received, and grace for
grace. 17 For the law was given by Moses, but grace and
truth came by Jesus Christ.
Acts 15:11 But we
believe that through the grace of the LORD Jesus Christ we
shall be saved, even as they.
Rom 1:4 And
declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the
spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead: 5
By whom we have received grace and apostleship, for
obedience to the faith among all nations, for his name:
3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of
God; 24 Being justified freely by his grace through the
redemption that is in Christ Jesus: 25 Whom God has set
forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to
declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are
past, through the forbearance of God; 26 To declare, I
say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just,
and the justifier of him which believes in Jesus.
5:15 But not as the offense, so also is the free gift. For
if through the offense of one many be dead, much more the
grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man,
Jesus Christ, has abounded to many. 16 And not as it was
by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by
one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offenses
to justification. 17 For if by one man’s offense death
reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of
grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life
by one, Jesus Christ.)
5:20 Moreover the law entered,
that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace
did much more abound: 21 That as sin has reigned to
death, even so might grace reign through righteousness to
eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.
1 Cor
1:4 I thank my God always on your behalf, for the grace of
God which is given you by Jesus Christ; 5 That in every
thing you are enriched by him, in all utterance, and in all
knowledge; 6 Even as the testimony of Christ was
confirmed in you:
2 Cor 13:14 The grace of the
Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of
the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen.
Gal 1:6
I marvel that you are so soon removed from him that called
you into the grace of Christ to another gospel: 7 Which
is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and
would pervert the gospel of Christ.
2:21 I do not
frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the
law, then Christ is dead in vain.
5:4 Christ is
become of no effect to you, whoever of you are justified by
the law; you are fallen from grace.
Eph 1:5
Having predestinated us to the adoption of children by Jesus
Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his
will, 6 To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein
he has made us accepted in the beloved. 7 In whom we have
redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins,
according to the riches of his grace; 8 Wherein he has
abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence;
2:4
But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love with which
he loved us, 5 Even when we were dead in sins, has
quickened us together with Christ, (by grace you are saved;)
6 And has raised us up together, and made us sit together in
heavenly places in Christ Jesus: 7 That in the ages to
come he might show the exceeding riches of his grace in his
kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. 8 For by grace
are you saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it
is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should
boast.
2 Tim 1:9 Who has saved us, and called
us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but
according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us
in Christ Jesus before the world began,
2:1 You
therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ
Jesus.
2 Pe 3:18 But grow in grace, and in the
knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be
glory both now and for ever. Amen.
The sinlessness of Jesus
Mt 27:3 Then Judas,
which had betrayed him, when he saw that he was condemned,
repented himself, and brought again the thirty pieces of
silver to the chief priests and elders, 4 Saying, I have
sinned in that I have betrayed the innocent blood. And they
said, What is that to us? see you to that.
27:19 When
he was set down on the judgment seat, his wife sent to him,
saying, Have you nothing to do with that just man: for I
have suffered many things this day in a dream because of
him.
Joh 8:45 And because I tell you the
truth, you believe me not. 46 Which of you convinces me
of sin? And if I say the truth, why do you not believe me?
2 Cor 5:21 For he has made him to be sin for us,
who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of
God in him.
Heb 4:15 For we have not an high
priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our
infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are,
yet without sin.
7:26 For such an high priest became
us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners,
and made higher than the heavens; 27 Who needs not daily,
as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his
own sins, and then for the people’s: for this he did once,
when he offered up himself. 28 For the law makes men high
priests which have infirmity; but the word of the oath,
which was since the law, makes the Son, who is consecrated
for ever more.
1 Pe 1:18 For as much as you
know that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, as
silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by
tradition from your fathers; 19 But with the precious
blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without
spot:
2:21 For even hereunto were you called: because
Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you
should follow his steps: 22 Who did no sin, neither was
guile found in his mouth:
1 Joh 3:5 And you
know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in
him is no sin.
Isa 53:6 All we like sheep have
gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and
the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all. 9 And he
made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his
death; because he had done no violence, neither was any
deceit in his mouth. 11 He shall see of the travail of
his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my
righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their
iniquities.
Life in Jesus
Lu 23:42 And he said to Jesus,
Lord, remember me when you come into your kingdom. 43 And
Jesus said to him, Truly I say to you, To day shall you be
with me in paradise.
Joh 1:4 In him was life;
and the life was the light of men.
3:14 And as Moses
lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the
Son of man be lifted up: 15 That whoever believes in him
should not perish, but have eternal life. 16 For God so
loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that
whoever believes in him should not perish, but have
everlasting life. 36 He that believes on the Son has
everlasting life: and he that believes not the Son shall not
see life; but the wrath of God stays on him.
4:10
Jesus answered and said to her, If you knew the gift of God,
and who it is that said to you, Give me to drink; you would
have asked of him, and he would have given you living water.
11 The woman said to him, Sir, you have nothing to draw
with, and the well is deep: from where then have you that
living water? 12 Are you greater than our father Jacob,
which gave us the well, and drank thereof himself, and his
children, and his cattle? 13 Jesus answered and said to
her, Whoever drinks of this water shall thirst again: 14
But whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him shall
never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be
in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.
5:24 Truly, truly, I say to you, He that hears my word,
and believes on him that sent me, has everlasting life, and
shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death
to life. 25 Truly, truly, I say to you, The hour is
coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of
the Son of God: and they that hear shall live. 26 For as
the Father has life in himself; so has he given to the Son
to have life in himself;
5:39 Search the scriptures;
for in them you think you have eternal life: and they are
they which testify of me. 40 And you will not come to me,
that you might have life.
6:33 For the bread of God
is he which comes down from heaven, and gives life to the
world. 34 Then said they to him, Lord, ever more give us
this bread. 35 And Jesus said to them, I am the bread of
life: he that comes to me shall never hunger; and he that
believes on me shall never thirst. 36 But I said to you,
That you also have seen me, and believe not. 37 All that
the Father gives me shall come to me; and him that comes to
me I will in no wise cast out.
6:40 And this is the
will of him that sent me, that every one which sees the Son,
and believes on him, may have everlasting life: and I will
raise him up at the last day.
6:47 Truly, truly, I
say to you, He that believes on me has everlasting life.
48 I am that bread of life. 49 Your fathers did eat manna
in the wilderness, and are dead. 50 This is the bread
which comes down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof,
and not die. 51 I am the living bread which came down
from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for
ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I
will give for the life of the world. 52 The Jews
therefore strove among themselves, saying, How can this man
give us his flesh to eat? 53 Then Jesus said to them,
Truly, truly, I say to you, Except you eat the flesh of the
Son of man, and drink his blood, you have no life in you.
54 Whoever eats my flesh, and drinks my blood, has eternal
life; and I will raise him up at the last day. 55 For my
flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. 56 He
that eats my flesh, and drinks my blood, dwells in me, and I
in him. 57 As the living Father has sent me, and I live
by the Father: so he that eats me, even he shall live by me.
58 This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as
your fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eats of
this bread shall live for ever.
6:63 It is the spirit
that vivifies; the flesh profits nothing: the words that I
speak to you, they are spirit, and they are life.
6:67 Then said Jesus to the twelve, Will you also go away?
68 Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go?
you have the words of eternal life. 69 And we believe and
are sure that you are that Christ, the Son of the living
God.
8:12 Then spoke Jesus again to them, saying, I
am the light of the world: he that follows me shall not walk
in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
10:10
The thief comes not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to
destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they
might have it more abundantly.
10:27 My sheep hear my
voice, and I know them, and they follow me: 28 And I give
to them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither
shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
14:6 Jesus
said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man
comes to the Father, but by me.
2 Tim 1:1
Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God,
according to the promise of life which is in Christ Jesus,
1 Pe 2:4 To whom coming, as to a living stone,
disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious,
5 You also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual
house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices,
acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
1 Joh 5:11
And this is the record, that God has given to us eternal
life, and this life is in his Son. 12 He that has the Son
has life; and he that has not the Son of God has not life.
13 These things have I written to you that believe on the
name of the Son of God; that you may know that you have
eternal life, and that you may believe on the name of the
Son of God.
The work of Jesus on our behalf
Mt 5:17 Think not
that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not
come to destroy, but to fulfill.
20:28 Even as the
Son of man came not to be ministered to, but to minister,
and to give his life a ransom for many.
26:28 For
this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for
many for the remission of sins.
Joh 6:50 This
is the bread which comes down from heaven, that a man may
eat thereof, and not die. 51 I am the living bread which
came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he
shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my
flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.
10:11 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd gives his
life for the sheep. 15 As the Father knows me, even so
know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep.
11:49 And one of them, named Caiaphas, being the high
priest that same year, said to them, You know nothing at
all, 50 Nor consider that it is expedient for us, that
one man should die for the people, and that the whole nation
perish not. 51 And this spoke he not of himself: but
being high priest that year, he prophesied that Jesus should
die for that nation; 52 And not for that nation only, but
that also he should gather together in one the children of
God that were scattered abroad.
12:31 Now is the
judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world
be cast out. 32 And I, if I be lifted up from the earth,
will draw all men to me. 33 This he said, signifying what
death he should die.
19:30 When Jesus therefore had
received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed
his head, and gave up the ghost.
Rom 4:25 Who
was delivered for our offenses, and was raised again for our
justification.
5:6 For when we were yet without
strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. 7 For
scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure
for a good man some would even dare to die. 8 But God
commends his love toward us, in that, while we were yet
sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Much more then, being now
justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through
him. 10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled
to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled,
we shall be saved by his life.
5:19 For as by one
man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the
obedience of one shall many be made righteous.
8:3
For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through
the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful
flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: 4 That
the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who
walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
8:31
What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us,
who can be against us? 32 He that spared not his own Son,
but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him
also freely give us all things? 33 Who shall lay any
thing to the charge of God’s elect? It is God that
justifies. 34 Who is he that comdemns? It is Christ that
died, yes rather, that is risen again, who is even at the
right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us.
14:15 But if your brother be grieved with your meat, now
walk you not charitably. Destroy not him with your meat, for
whom Christ died.
1 Cor 5:6 Your glorying is
not good. Know you not that a little leaven leavens the
whole lump? 7 Purge out therefore the old leaven, that
you may be a new lump, as you are unleavened. For even
Christ our passover is sacrificed for us: 8 Therefore let
us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the
leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened
bread of sincerity and truth.
15:3 For I delivered to
you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ
died for our sins according to the scriptures;
2
Cor 5:14 For the love of Christ constrains us; because
we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead:
15 And that he died for all, that they which live should not
from now on live to themselves, but to him which died for
them, and rose again. 21 For he has made him to be sin
for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the
righteousness of God in him.
Gal 1:3 Grace be
to you and peace from God the Father, and from our Lord
Jesus Christ, 4 Who gave himself for our sins, that he
might deliver us from this present evil world, according to
the will of God and our Father:
2:19 For I through
the law am dead to the law, that I might live to God. 20
I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I,
but Christ lives in me: and the life which I now live in the
flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me,
and gave himself for me.
3:13 Christ has redeemed us
from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it
is written, Cursed is every one that hangs on a tree: 14
That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles
through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of
the Spirit through faith.
4:4 But when the fullness
of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a
woman, made under the law, 5 To redeem them that were
under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.
Eph 2:14 For he is our peace, who has made both
one, and has broken down the middle wall of partition
between us; 15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity,
even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to
make in himself of two one new man, so making peace; 16
And that he might reconcile both to God in one body by the
cross, having slain the enmity thereby:
5:1 Be you
therefore followers of God, as dear children; 2 And walk
in love, as Christ also has loved us, and has given himself
for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet
smelling smell.
5:25 Husbands, love your wives, even
as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;
26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of
water by the word, 27 That he might present it to himself
a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such
thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.
Col 2:13 And you, being dead in your sins and the
uncircumcision of your flesh, has he quickened together with
him, having forgiven you all trespasses; 14 Blotting out
the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was
contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to
his cross;
1 Th 5:9 For God has not appointed
us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus
Christ, 10 Who died for us, that, whether we wake or
sleep, we should live together with him.
1 Tim
2:5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and
men, the man Christ Jesus; 6 Who gave himself a ransom
for all, to be testified in due time.
2 Tim
1:10 But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Savior
Jesus Christ, who has abolished death, and has brought life
and immortality to light through the gospel:
Tit
2:13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious
appearing of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ;
14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all
iniquity, and purify to himself a peculiar people, zealous
of good works.
Heb 1:3 Who being the
brightness of his glory, and the express image of his
person, and upholding all things by the word of his power,
when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the
right hand of the Majesty on high:
2:9 But we see
Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the
suffering of death, crowned with glory and honor; that he by
the grace of God should taste death for every man.
5:8 Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the
things which he suffered; 9 And being made perfect, he
became the author of eternal salvation to all them that obey
him; 10 Called of God an high priest after the order of
Melchisedec.
6:19 Which hope we have as an anchor of
the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters into
that within the veil; 20 Where the forerunner is for us
entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the
order of Melchisedec.
7:26 For such an high priest
became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from
sinners, and made higher than the heavens; 27 Who needs
not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice,
first for his own sins, and then for the people’s: for this
he did once, when he offered up himself.
9:11 But
Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by
a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands,
that is to say, not of this building; 12 Neither by the
blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered
in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal
redemption for us. 24 For Christ is not entered into the
holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the
true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence
of God for us:
10:10 By the which will we are
sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ
once for all. 11 And every priest stands daily
ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices,
which can never take away sins: 12 But this man, after he
had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the
right hand of God; 13 From now on expecting till his
enemies be made his footstool. 14 For by one offering he
has perfected for ever them that are sanctified.
1
Pe 2:21 For even hereunto were you called: because
Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you
should follow his steps: 22 Who did no sin, neither was
guile found in his mouth: 23 Who, when he was reviled,
reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but
committed himself to him that judges righteously: 24 Who
his own self bore our sins in his own body on the tree, that
we, being dead to sins, should live to righteousness: by
whose stripes you were healed.
3:18 For Christ also
has once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he
might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but
quickened by the Spirit:
1 Joh 3:16 Hereby
perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life
for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers.
Rev 1:5 And from Jesus Christ, who is the
faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and
the prince of the kings of the earth. To him that loved us,
and washed us from our sins in his own blood,
5:9 And
they sung a new song, saying, You are worthy to take the
book, and to open the seals thereof: for you were slain, and
have redeemed us to God by your blood out of every kindred,
and tongue, and people, and nation; 10 And have made us
to our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the
earth.
The blood of Jesus
Mt 26:28
For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for
many for the remission of sins.
Acts 20:28
Take heed therefore to yourselves, and to all the flock,
over the which the Holy Ghost has made you overseers, to
feed the church of God, which he has purchased with his own
blood.
Rom 3:23
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
24 Being justified freely by his grace through the
redemption that is in Christ Jesus: 25 Whom God has set
forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to
declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are
past, through the forbearance of God;
5:8
But God commends his love toward us, in that, while we were
yet sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Much more then, being
now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath
through him.
1 Cor 10:16
The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion
of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not
the communion of the body of Christ?
11:25 After the
same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped,
saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do
you, as oft as you drink it, in remembrance of me. 26 For
as often as you eat this bread, and drink this cup, you do
show the Lord’s death till he come. 27 Why whoever shall
eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily,
shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.
Eph 1:7 In
whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness
of sins, according to the riches of his grace;
2:13
But now in Christ Jesus you who sometimes were far off are
made near by the blood of Christ.
Col 1:19
For it pleased the Father that in him should all fullness
dwell; 20 And, having made peace through the blood of his
cross, by him to reconcile all things to himself; by him, I
say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.
21 And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your
mind by wicked works, yet now has he reconcile 22 In the
body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and
blameless and unreproveable in his sight:
Heb 9:11
But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come,
by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with
hands, that is to say, not of this building; 12 Neither
by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he
entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal
redemption for us. 13 For if the blood of bulls and of
goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean,
sanctifies to the purifying of the flesh: 14 How much
more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal
Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your
conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
9:16
For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be
the death of the testator. 17 For a testament is of force
after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all
while the testator lives. 18 Whereupon neither the first
testament was dedicated without blood. 19 For when Moses
had spoken every precept to all the people according to the
law, he took the blood of calves and of goats, with water,
and scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book,
and all the people, 20 Saying, This is the blood of the
testament which God has enjoined to you. 21 Moreover he
sprinkled with blood both the tabernacle, and all the
vessels of the ministry. 22 And almost all things are by
the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is
no remission. 23 It was therefore necessary that the
patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with
these; but the heavenly things themselves with better
sacrifices than these.
10:19 Having
therefore, brothers, boldness to enter into the holiest by
the blood of Jesus, 20 By a new and living way, which he
has consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say,
his flesh; 21 And having an high priest over the house of
God; 22 Let us draw near with a true heart in full
assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil
conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.
10:28 He that
despised Moses’ law died without mercy under two or three
witnesses: 29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose you,
shall he be thought worthy, who has trodden under foot the
Son of God, and has counted the blood of the covenant, with
which he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and has done
despite to the Spirit of grace?
12:24 And to Jesus
the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of
sprinkling, that speaks better things that that of Abel.
13:11 For the bodies
of those beasts, whose blood is brought into the sanctuary
by the high priest for sin, are burned without the camp.
12 Why Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with
his own blood, suffered without the gate. 13 Let us go
forth therefore to him without the camp, bearing his

13:20 Now the God
of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus,
that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the
everlasting covenant,
1 Pe 1:1
Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the strangers
scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and
Bithynia, 2 Elect according to the foreknowledge of God
the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, to
obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace
to you, and peace, be multiplied.
1:17
And if you call on the Father, who without respect of
persons judges according to every man’s work, pass the time
of your sojourning here in fear: 18 For as much as you
know that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, as
silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by
tradition from your fathers; 19 But with the precious
blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without
spot:
1 Joh 1:7
But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have
fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ
his Son cleans us from all sin.
5:6
This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ;
not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the
Spirit that bears witness, because the Spirit is truth. 7
For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father,
the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. 8
And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit,
and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.
Rev 1:5 And
from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the
first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of
the earth. To him that loved us, and washed us from our sins
in his own blood,
5:9
And they sung a new song, saying, You are worthy to take the
book, and to open the seals thereof: for you were slain, and
have redeemed us to God by your blood out of every kindred,
and tongue, and people, and nation; 10 And have made us
to our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the
earth.
7:13
And one of the elders answered, saying to me, What are these
which are arrayed in white robes? and from where came they?
14 And I said to him, Sir, you know. And he said to me,
These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have
washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the
Lamb.
12:10 And I heard a
loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and
strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his
Christ: for the accuser of our brothers is cast down, which
accused them before our God day and night. 11 And they
overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of
their testimony; and they loved not their lives to the
death.
Jesus did the will of the Father
Mt 26:37 And
he took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and
began to be sorrowful and very heavy. 38 Then said he to
them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even to death: tarry
you here, and watch with me. 39 And he went a little
farther, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my
Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me:
nevertheless not as I will, but as you will.
Joh
4:31 In the mean while his disciples prayed him, saying,
Master, eat. 32 But he said to them, I have meat to eat
that you know not of. 33 Therefore said the disciples one
to another, Has any man brought him ought to eat? 34
Jesus said to them, My meat is to do the will of him that
sent me, and to finish his work.
5:30 I can of my own
self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is
just; because I seek not my own will, but the will of the
Father which has sent me.
6:38 For I came down from
heaven, not to do my own will, but the will of him that sent
me.
8:28 Then said Jesus to them, When you have
lifted up the Son of man, then shall you know that I am he,
and that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father has taught
me, I speak these things. 29 And he that sent me is with
me: the Father has not left me alone; for I do always those
things that please him. 30 As he spoke these words, many
believed on him.
8:53 Are you greater than our father
Abraham, which is dead? and the prophets are dead: whom make
you yourself? 54 Jesus answered, If I honor myself, my
honor is nothing: it is my Father that honors me; of whom
you say, that he is your God: 55 Yet you have not known
him; but I know him: and if I should say, I know him not, I
shall be a liar like to you: but I know him, and keep his
saying.
14:30 Hereafter I will not talk much with
you: for the prince of this world comes, and has nothing in
me. 31 But that the world may know that I love the
Father; and as the Father gave me commandment, even so I do.
Arise, let us go hence.
15:10 If you keep my
commandments, you shall abide in my love; even as I have
kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love.
17:3 And this is life eternal, that they might know you
the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.
4 I have glorified you on the earth: I have finished the
work which you gave me to do.
Rom 5:19 For as
by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the
obedience of one shall many be made righteous.
Php
2:8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself,
and became obedient to death, even the death of the cross.
9 Why God also has highly exalted him, and given him a name
which is above every name:
Heb 3:1 Why, holy
brothers, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the
Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus;
2 Who was faithful to him that appointed him, as also Moses
was faithful in all his house. 3 For this man was counted
worthy of more glory than Moses, inasmuch as he who has
built the house has more honor than the house. 4 For
every house is built by some man; but he that built all
things is God. 5 And Moses truly was faithful in all his
house, as a servant, for a testimony of those things which
were to be spoken after; 6 But Christ as a son over his
own house; whose house are we, if we hold fast the
confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm to the end.
5:8 Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by
the things which he suffered; 9 And being made perfect,
he became the author of eternal salvation to all them that
obey him;
10:5 Why when he comes into the world, he
said, Sacrifice and offering you would not, but a body have
you prepared me: 6 In burnt offerings and sacrifices for
sin you have had no pleasure. 7 Then said I, See, I come
(in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do your
will, O God. 8 Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering
and burnt offerings and offering for sin you would not,
neither had pleasure therein; which are offered by the law;
9 Then said he, See, I come to do your will, O God. He takes
away the first, that he may establish the second.
Ps 40:6 Sacrifice and offering you did not desire; my
ears have you opened: burnt offering and sin offering have
you not required. 7 Then said I, See, I come: in the
volume of the book it is written of me, 8 I delight to do
your will, O my God: yes, your law is within my heart.
Isa 53:10 Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him;
he has put him to grief: when you shall make his soul an
offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong
his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his
hand.
Jesus - the way to the Father
Joh 10:9 I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he
shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.
14:6 Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the
life: no man comes to the Father, but by me.
Eph
2:13 But now in Christ Jesus you who sometimes were far off
are made near by the blood of Christ.
2:17 And came
and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them
that were near. 18 For through him we both have access by
one Spirit to the Father. 19 Now therefore you are no
more strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the
saints, and of the household of God;
3:11 According
to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our
Lord: 12 In whom we have boldness and access with
confidence by the faith of him.
Heb 7:19 For
the law made nothing perfect, but the bringing in of a
better hope did; by the which we draw near to God. 20 And
inasmuch as not without an oath he was made priest: 21
(For those priests were made without an oath; but this with
an oath by him that said to him, The Lord swore and will not
repent, You are a priest for ever after the order of
Melchisedec:) 22 By so much was Jesus made a surety of a
better testament. 23 And they truly were many priests,
because they were not suffered to continue by reason of
death: 24 But this man, because he continues ever, has an
unchangeable priesthood. 25 Why he is able also to save
them to the uttermost that come to God by him, seeing he
ever lives to make intercession for them.
10:19
Having therefore, brothers, boldness to enter into the
holiest by the blood of Jesus, 20 By a new and living
way, which he has consecrated for us, through the veil, that
is to say, his flesh; 21 And having an high priest over
the house of God; 22 Let us draw near with a true heart
in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from
an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.
1 Pe 3:18 For Christ also has once suffered for
sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to
God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the
Spirit:
1 Joh 2:22 Who is a liar but he that
denies that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that
denies the Father and the Son. 23 Whoever denies the Son,
the same has not the Father: he that acknowledges the Son
has the Father also.
Jesus - the Mediator
Joh 10:9 I am the door: by me
if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and
out, and find pasture.
14:6 Jesus said to him, I am
the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes to the
Father, but by me.
Rom 5:1 Therefore being
justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord
Jesus Christ:
Gal 3:19 Why then serves the
law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed
should come to whom the promise was made; and it was
ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator. 20 Now a
mediator is not a mediator of one, but God is one.
Eph 2:13 But now in Christ Jesus you who sometimes
were far off are made near by the blood of Christ. 14 For
he is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down
the middle wall of partition between us; 15 Having
abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of
commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself
of two one new man, so making peace; 16 And that he might
reconcile both to God in one body by the cross, having slain
the enmity thereby: 17 And came and preached peace to you
which were afar off, and to them that were near. 18 For
through him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father.
3:11 According to the eternal purpose which he purposed
in Christ Jesus our Lord: 12 In whom we have boldness and
access with confidence by the faith of him.
Col
1:20 And, having made peace through the blood of his cross,
by him to reconcile all things to himself; by him, I say,
whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.
1 Tim 2:5 For there is one God, and one mediator
between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; 6 Who gave
himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.
Heb 6:19 Which hope we have as an anchor of the
soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters into that
within the veil; 20 Where the forerunner is for us
entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the
order of Melchisedec.
8:6 But now has he obtained a
more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator
of a better covenant, which was established on better
promises. 7 For if that first covenant had been
faultless, then should no place have been sought for the
second.
9:15 And for this cause he is the mediator of
the new testament, that by means of death, for the
redemption of the transgressions that were under the first
testament, they which are called might receive the promise
of eternal inheritance.
10:19 Having therefore,
brothers, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of
Jesus, 20 By a new and living way, which he has
consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his
flesh;
12:22 But you are come to mount Sion, and to
the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to
an innumerable company of angels, 23 To the general
assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in
heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of
just men made perfect, 24 And to Jesus the mediator of
the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that
speaks better things that that of Abel.
1 Pe
3:18 For Christ also has once suffered for sins, the just
for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to
death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:
Num 16:47 And Aaron took as Moses
commanded, and ran into the middle of the congregation; and,
behold, the plague was begun among the people: and he put on
incense, and made an atonement for the people. 48 And he
stood between the dead and the living; and the plague was
stayed.
De 5:1 And Moses called all Israel,
and said to them, Hear, O Israel, the statutes and judgments
which I speak in your ears this day, that you may learn
them, and keep, and do them. 2 The LORD our God made a
covenant with us in Horeb. 3 The LORD made not this
covenant with our fathers, but with us, even us, who are all
of us here alive this day. 4 The LORD talked with you
face to face in the mount out of the middle of the fire,
5 (I stood between the LORD and you at that time, to show
you the word of the LORD: for you were afraid by reason of
the fire, and went not up into the mount;) saying,
1 Sam 2:24 No, my sons; for it is no good report that
I hear: you make the LORD’s people to transgress. 25 If
one man sin against another, the judge shall judge him: but
if a man sin against the LORD, who shall entreat for him?
Notwithstanding they listened not to the voice of their
father, because the LORD would slay them.
Jesus took away sins
Joh 1:29 The next day John
sees Jesus coming to him, and said, Behold the Lamb of God,
which takes away the sin of the world.
Rom
11:26 And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written,
There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn
away ungodliness from Jacob: 27 For this is my covenant
to them, when I shall take away their sins.
Heb
1:3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express
image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of
his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down
on the right hand of the Majesty on high:
9:25 Nor
yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest
enters into the holy place every year with blood of others;
26 For then must he often have suffered since the foundation
of the world: but now once in the end of the world has he
appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself. 27
And as it is appointed to men once to die, but after this
the judgment: 28 So Christ was once offered to bear the
sins of many; and to them that look for him shall he appear
the second time without sin to salvation.
10:12 But
this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for
ever, sat down on the right hand of God; 13 From now on
expecting till his enemies be made his footstool.
1 Joh 3:5 And you know that he was manifested to take
away our sins; and in him is no sin.
Jesus came to save
Lu 19:9 And Jesus said to him, This
day is salvation come to this house, as much as he also is a
son of Abraham. 10 For the Son of man is come to seek and
to save that which was lost.
Joh 3:17 For God
sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but
that the world through him might be saved.
5:33 You
sent to John, and he bore witness to the truth. 34 But I
receive not testimony from man: but these things I say, that
you might be saved.
12:46 I am come a light into the
world, that whoever believes on me should not abide in
darkness. 47 And if any man hear my words, and believe
not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but
to save the world.
1 Tim 1:15 This is a
faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ
Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am
chief.
God's will to save
Mt 18:12 How think
you? if a man have an hundred sheep, and one of them be gone
astray, does he not leave the ninety and nine, and goes into
the mountains, and seeks that which is gone astray? 13
And if so be that he find it, truly I say to you, he
rejoices more of that sheep, than of the ninety and nine
which went not astray. 14 Even so it is not the will of
your Father which is in heaven, that one of these little
ones should perish.
23:37 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you
that kill the prophets, and stone them which are sent to
you, how often would I have gathered your children together,
even as a hen gathers her chickens under her wings, and you
would not! 38 Behold, your house is left to you desolate.
39 For I say to you, You shall not see me from now on, till
you shall say, Blessed is he that comes in the name of the
Lord.
Lu 2:10 And the angel said to them, Fear
not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy,
which shall be to all people. 11 For to you is born this
day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord.
12 And this shall be a sign to you; You shall find the babe
wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. 13 And
suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the
heavenly host praising God, and saying, 14 Glory to God
in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.
15:1 Then drew near to him all the publicans and sinners
for to hear him. 2 And the Pharisees and scribes
murmured, saying, This man receives sinners, and eats with
them. 3 And he spoke this parable to them, saying, 4
What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of
them, does not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness,
and go after that which is lost, until he find it? 5 And
when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders,
rejoicing. 6 And when he comes home, he calls together
his friends and neighbors, saying to them, Rejoice with me;
for I have found my sheep which was lost. 7 I say to you,
that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that
repents, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which
need no repentance. 8 Either what woman having ten pieces
of silver, if she lose one piece, does not light a candle,
and sweep the house, and seek diligently till she find it?
9 And when she has found it, she calls her friends and her
neighbors together, saying, Rejoice with me; for I have
found the piece which I had lost. 10 Likewise, I say to
you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over
one sinner that repents.
15:11 And he said, A certain
man had two sons: 12 And the younger of them said to his
father, Father, give me the portion of goods that falls to
me. And he divided to them his living. 13 And not many
days after the younger son gathered all together, and took
his journey into a far country, and there wasted his
substance with riotous living. 14 And when he had spent
all, there arose a mighty famine in that land; and he began
to be in want. 15 And he went and joined himself to a
citizen of that country; and he sent him into his fields to
feed swine. 16 And he would fain have filled his belly
with the husks that the swine did eat: and no man gave to
him. 17 And when he came to himself, he said, How many
hired servants of my father’s have bread enough and to
spare, and I perish with hunger! 18 I will arise and go
to my father, and will say to him, Father, I have sinned
against heaven, and before you, 19 And am no more worthy
to be called your son: make me as one of your hired
servants. 20 And he arose, and came to his father. But
when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had
compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.
21 And the son said to him, Father, I have sinned against
heaven, and in your sight, and am no more worthy to be
called your son. 22 But the father said to his servants,
Bring forth the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring
on his hand, and shoes on his feet: 23 And bring here the
fatted calf, and kill it; and let us eat, and be merry:
24 For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was
lost, and is found. And they began to be merry.
Joh 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his
only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him should not
perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not
his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the
world through him might be saved.
Rom 5:6 For
when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died
for the ungodly. 7 For scarcely for a righteous man will
one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even
dare to die. 8 But God commends his love toward us, in
that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. 9
Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall
be saved from wrath through him. 10 For if, when we were
enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son,
much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.
1 Tim 2:3 For this is good and acceptable in the
sight of God our Savior; 4 Who will have all men to be
saved, and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
2 Pe 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise,
as some men count slackness; but is long-suffering to
us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all
should come to repentance.
1 Joh 4:9 In this
was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God
sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might
live through him. 10 Herein is love, not that we loved
God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the
propitiation for our sins. 16 And we have known and
believed the love that God has to us. God is love; and he
that dwells in love dwells in God, and God in him.
Eze 18:23 Have I any pleasure at all that the wicked
should die? said the Lord GOD: and not that he should return
from his ways, and live? 32 For I have no pleasure in the
death of him that dies, said the Lord GOD: why turn
yourselves, and live you.
Christ's sacrifice - patterns
Gen 3:21 To
Adam also and to his wife did the LORD God make coats of
skins, and clothed them.
4:3 And in process of time
it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the
ground an offering to the LORD. 4 And Abel, he also
brought of the firstborn of his flock and of the fat
thereof. And the LORD had respect to Abel and to his
offering: 5 But to Cain and to his offering he had not
respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell.
8:20 And Noah built an altar to the LORD; and took of
every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered
burnt offerings on the altar. 21 And the LORD smelled a
sweet smell; and the LORD said in his heart, I will not
again curse the ground any more for man’s sake; for the
imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth; neither
will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have
done.
12:7 And the LORD appeared to Abram, and said,
To your seed will I give this land: and there built he an
altar to the LORD, who appeared to him. 8 And he removed
from there to a mountain on the east of Bethel, and pitched
his tent, having Bethel on the west, and Hai on the east:
and there he built an altar to the LORD, and called on the
name of the LORD.
22:13 And Abraham lifted up his
eyes, and looked, and behold behind him a ram caught in a
thicket by his horns: and Abraham went and took the ram, and
offered him up for a burnt offering in the stead of his son.
Ex 12:5 Your lamb shall be without blemish, a
male of the first year: you shall take it out from the
sheep, or from the goats: 6 And you shall keep it up
until the fourteenth day of the same month: and the whole
assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it in the
evening. 7 And they shall take of the blood, and strike
it on the two side posts and on the upper door post of the
houses, wherein they shall eat it. 8 And they shall eat
the flesh in that night, roast with fire, and unleavened
bread; and with bitter herbs they shall eat it. 11 And
thus shall you eat it; with your loins girded, your shoes on
your feet, and your staff in your hand; and you shall eat it
in haste: it is the LORD’s passover. 12 For I will pass
through the land of Egypt this night, and will smite all the
firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and
against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am
the LORD. 13 And the blood shall be to you for a token on
the houses where you are: and when I see the blood, I will
pass over you, and the plague shall not be on you to destroy
you, when I smite the land of Egypt.
12:21 Then Moses
called for all the elders of Israel, and said to them, Draw
out and take you a lamb according to your families, and kill
the passover. 22 And you shall take a bunch of hyssop,
and dip it in the blood that is in the basin, and strike the
lintel and the two side posts with the blood that is in the
basin; and none of you shall go out at the door of his house
until the morning. 23 For the LORD will pass through to
smite the Egyptians; and when he sees the blood on the
lintel, and on the two side posts, the LORD will pass over
the door, and will not suffer the destroyer to come in to
your houses to smite you.
24:4 And Moses wrote all
the words of the LORD, and rose up early in the morning, and
built an altar under the hill, and twelve pillars, according
to the twelve tribes of Israel. 5 And he sent young men
of the children of Israel, which offered burnt offerings,
and sacrificed peace offerings of oxen to the LORD. 6 And
Moses took half of the blood, and put it in basins; and half
of the blood he sprinkled on the altar. 7 And he took the
book of the covenant, and read in the audience of the
people: and they said, All that the LORD has said will we
do, and be obedient. 8 And Moses took the blood, and
sprinkled it on the people, and said, Behold the blood of
the covenant, which the LORD has made with you concerning
all these words.
Lev 1:1 And the LORD called
to Moses, and spoke to him out of the tabernacle of the
congregation, saying, 2 Speak to the children of Israel,
and say to them, If any man of you bring an offering to the
LORD, you shall bring your offering of the cattle, even of
the herd, and of the flock. 3 If his offering be a burnt
sacrifice of the herd, let him offer a male without blemish:
he shall offer it of his own voluntary will at the door of
the tabernacle of the congregation before the LORD. 4 And
he shall put his hand on the head of the burnt offering; and
it shall be accepted for him to make atonement for him. 5
And he shall kill the bullock before the LORD: and the
priests, Aaron’s sons, shall bring the blood, and sprinkle
the blood round about on the altar that is by the door of
the tabernacle of the congregation.
5:5 And it shall
be, when he shall be guilty in one of these things, that he
shall confess that he has sinned in that thing: 6 And he
shall bring his trespass offering to the LORD for his sin
which he has sinned, a female from the flock, a lamb or a
kid of the goats, for a sin offering; and the priest shall
make an atonement for him concerning his sin.
5:17
And if a soul sin, and commit any of these things which are
forbidden to be done by the commandments of the LORD; though
he knew it not, yet is he guilty, and shall bear his
iniquity. 18 And he shall bring a ram without blemish out
of the flock, with your estimation, for a trespass offering,
to the priest: and the priest shall make an atonement for
him concerning his ignorance wherein he erred and knew it
not, and it shall be forgiven him. 19 It is a trespass
offering: he has certainly trespassed against the LORD.
16:21 And Aaron shall lay both his hands on the head of
the live goat, and confess over him all the iniquities of
the children of Israel, and all their transgressions in all
their sins, putting them on the head of the goat, and shall
send him away by the hand of a fit man into the wilderness:
22 And the goat shall bear on him all their iniquities to a
land not inhabited: and he shall let go the goat in the
wilderness.
16:27 And the bullock for the sin
offering, and the goat for the sin offering, whose blood was
brought in to make atonement in the holy place, shall one
carry forth without the camp; and they shall burn in the
fire their skins, and their flesh, and their dung. 28 And
he that burns them shall wash his clothes, and bathe his
flesh in water, and afterward he shall come into the camp.
29 And this shall be a statute for ever to you: that in the
seventh month, on the tenth day of the month, you shall
afflict your souls, and do no work at all, whether it be one
of your own country, or a stranger that sojournes among you:
30 For on that day shall the priest make an atonement for
you, to cleanse you, that you may be clean from all your
sins before the LORD. 31 It shall be a sabbath of rest to
you, and you shall afflict your souls, by a statute for
ever. 32 And the priest, whom he shall anoint, and whom
he shall consecrate to minister in the priest’s office in
his father’s stead, shall make the atonement, and shall put
on the linen clothes, even the holy garments: 33 And he
shall make an atonement for the holy sanctuary, and he shall
make an atonement for the tabernacle of the congregation,
and for the altar, and he shall make an atonement for the
priests, and for all the people of the congregation. 34
And this shall be an everlasting statute to you, to make an
atonement for the children of Israel for all their sins once
a year. And he did as the LORD commanded Moses.
17:10
And whatever man there be of the house of Israel, or of the
strangers that sojourn among you, that eats any manner of
blood; I will even set my face against that soul that eats
blood, and will cut him off from among his people. 11 For
the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it
to you on the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for
it is the blood that makes an atonement for the soul.
Num 9:10 Speak to the children of Israel, saying,
If any man of you or of your posterity shall be unclean by
reason of a dead body, or be in a journey afar off, yet he
shall keep the passover to the LORD. 11 The fourteenth
day of the second month at even they shall keep it, and eat
it with unleavened bread and bitter herbs. 12 They shall
leave none of it to the morning, nor break any bone of it:
according to all the ordinances of the passover they shall
keep it.
19:1 And the LORD spoke to Moses and to
Aaron, saying, 2 This is the ordinance of the law which
the LORD has commanded, saying, Speak to the children of
Israel, that they bring you a red heifer without spot,
wherein is no blemish, and on which never came yoke:
2 Ch 29:23 And they brought forth the he goats for
the sin offering before the king and the congregation; and
they laid their hands on them: 24 And the priests killed
them, and they made reconciliation with their blood on the
altar, to make an atonement for all Israel: for the king
commanded that the burnt offering and the sin offering
should be made for all Israel.
Ezr 10:18 And
among the sons of the priests there were found that had
taken strange wives: namely, of the sons of Jeshua the son
of Jozadak, and his brothers; Maaseiah, and Eliezer, and
Jarib, and Gedaliah. 19 And they gave their hands that
they would put away their wives; and being guilty, they
offered a ram of the flock for their trespass.
Redemption
Mt 20:28 Even as the Son of man
came not to be ministered to, but to minister, and to give
his life a ransom for many.
Lu 1:67 And his
father Zacharias was filled with the Holy Ghost, and
prophesied, saying, 68 Blessed be the Lord God of Israel;
for he has visited and redeemed his people, 69 And has
raised up an horn of salvation for us in the house of his
servant David; 70 As he spoke by the mouth of his holy
prophets, which have been since the world began:
2:38
And she coming in that instant gave thanks likewise to the
Lord, and spoke of him to all them that looked for
redemption in Jerusalem.
24:21 But we trusted that it
had been he which should have redeemed Israel: and beside
all this, to day is the third day since these things were
done.
Acts 7:35 This Moses whom they refused,
saying, Who made you a ruler and a judge? the same did God
send to be a ruler and a deliverer by the hand of the angel
which appeared to him in the bush.
20:28 Take heed
therefore to yourselves, and to all the flock, over the
which the Holy Ghost has made you overseers, to feed the
church of God, which he has purchased with his own blood.
Rom 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of
the glory of God; 24 Being justified freely by his grace
through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
8:22
For we know that the whole creation groans and travails in
pain together until now. 23 And not only they, but
ourselves also, which have the first fruits of the Spirit,
even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the
adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.
1
Cor 1:30 But of him are you in Christ Jesus, who of God
is made to us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification,
and redemption: 31 That, according as it is written, He
that glories, let him glory in the Lord.
6:19 What?
know you not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost
which is in you, which you have of God, and you are not your
own? 20 For you are bought with a price: therefore
glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are
God’s.
7:23 You are bought with a price; be not you
the servants of men.
Gal 3:13 Christ has
redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse
for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangs on
a tree: 14 That the blessing of Abraham might come on the
Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the
promise of the Spirit through faith.
4:4 But when the
fullness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made
of a woman, made under the law, 5 To redeem them that
were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of
sons.
Eph 1:7 In whom we have redemption
through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the
riches of his grace;
1:13 In whom you also trusted,
after that you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your
salvation: in whom also after that you believed, you were
sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, 14 Which is the
earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the
purchased possession, to the praise of his glory.
4:30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby you are
sealed to the day of redemption.
Col 1:14 In
whom we have redemption through his blood, even the
forgiveness of sins:
1 Tim 2:5 For there is one God,
and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;
6 Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due
time.
Tit 2:13 Looking for that blessed hope,
and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Savior
Jesus Christ; 14 Who gave himself for us, that he might
redeem us from all iniquity, and purify to himself a
peculiar people, zealous of good works.
Heb
9:11 But Christ being come an high priest of good things to
come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made
with hands, that is to say, not of this building; 12
Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own
blood he entered in once into the holy place, having
obtained eternal redemption for us. 15 And for this cause
he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of
death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were
under the first testament, they which are called might
receive the promise of eternal inheritance.
1 Pe
1:18 For as much as you know that you were not redeemed with
corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain
conversation received by tradition from your fathers; 19
But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without
blemish and without spot:
2:9 But you are a chosen
generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar
people; that you should show forth the praises of him who
has called you out of darkness into his marvelous light;
2 Pe 2:1 But there were false prophets also among
the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you,
who privately shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying
the Lord that bought them, and bring on themselves swift
destruction.
Rev 5:9 And they sung a new song,
saying, You are worthy to take the book, and to open the
seals thereof: for you were slain, and have redeemed us to
God by your blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and
people, and nation; 10 And have made us to our God kings
and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.
14:3
And they sung as it were a new song before the throne, and
before the four beasts, and the elders: and no man could
learn that song but the hundred and forty and four thousand,
which were redeemed from the earth. 4 These are they
which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins.
These are they which follow the Lamb wherever he goes. These
were redeemed from among men, being the first fruits to God
and to the Lamb.
Ex 13:11 And it shall be when
the LORD shall bring you into the land of the Canaanites, as
he swore to you and to your fathers, and shall give it you,
12 That you shall set apart to the LORD all that opens the
matrix, and every firstling that comes of a beast which you
have; the males shall be the LORD’s. 13 And every
firstling of an ass you shall redeem with a lamb; and if you
will not redeem it, then you shall break his neck: and all
the firstborn of man among your children shall you redeem.
14 And it shall be when your son asks you in time to come,
saying, What is this? that you shall say to him, By strength
of hand the LORD brought us out from Egypt, from the house
of bondage: 15 And it came to pass, when Pharaoh would
hardly let us go, that the LORD slew all the firstborn in
the land of Egypt, both the firstborn of man, and the
firstborn of beast: therefore I sacrifice to the LORD all
that opens the matrix, being males; but all the firstborn of
my children I redeem.
15: 11 Who is like to you, O
LORD, among the gods? who is like you, glorious in holiness,
fearful in praises, doing wonders? 12 You stretched out
your right hand, the earth swallowed them. 13 You in your
mercy have led forth the people which you have redeemed: you
have guided them in your strength to your holy habitation.
17 You shall bring them in, and plant them in the mountain
of your inheritance, in the place, O LORD, which you have
made for you to dwell in, in the Sanctuary, O LORD, which
your hands have established.
Lev 25:24 And in
all the land of your possession you shall grant a redemption
for the land. 25 If your brother be waxen poor, and has
sold away some of his possession, and if any of his kin come
to redeem it, then shall he redeem that which his brother
sold.
Ruth 2:20 And Naomi said to her daughter
in law, Blessed be he of the LORD, who has not left off his
kindness to the living and to the dead. And Naomi said to
her, The man is near of kin to us, one of our next kinsmen.
3:9 And he said, Who are you? And she answered, I am
Ruth your handmaid: spread therefore your skirt over your
handmaid; for you are a near kinsman. 10 And he said,
Blessed be you of the LORD, my daughter: for you have showed
more kindness in the latter end than at the beginning,
inasmuch as you followed not young men, whether poor or
rich. 11 And now, my daughter, fear not; I will do to you
all that you require: for all the city of my people does
know that you are a virtuous woman. 12 And now it is true
that I am your near kinsman: however, there is a kinsman
nearer than I. 13 Tarry this night, and it shall be in
the morning, that if he will perform to you the part of a
kinsman, well; let him do the kinsman’s part: but if he will
not do the part of a kinsman to you, then will I do the part
of a kinsman to you, as the LORD lives: lie down until the
morning.
4:3 And he said to the kinsman, Naomi, that
is come again out of the country of Moab, sells a parcel of
land, which was our brother Elimelech’s: 4 And I thought
to advertise you, saying, Buy it before the inhabitants, and
before the elders of my people. If you will redeem it,
redeem it: but if you will not redeem it, then tell me, that
I may know: for there is none to redeem it beside you; and I
am after you. And he said, I will redeem it. 5 Then said
Boaz, What day you buy the field of the hand of Naomi, you
must buy it also of Ruth the Moabitess, the wife of the
dead, to raise up the name of the dead on his inheritance.
6 And the kinsman said, I cannot redeem it for myself, lest
I mar my own inheritance: redeem you my right to yourself;
for I cannot redeem it. 7 Now this was the manner in
former time in Israel concerning redeeming and concerning
changing, for to confirm all things; a man plucked off his
shoe, and gave it to his neighbor: and this was a testimony
in Israel. 8 Therefore the kinsman said to Boaz, Buy it
for you. So he drew off his shoe. 9 And Boaz said to the
elders, and to all the people, You are witnesses this day,
that I have bought all that was Elimelech’s, and all that
was Chilion’s and Mahlon’s, of the hand of Naomi. 13 So
Boaz took Ruth, and she was his wife: and when he went in to
her, the LORD gave her conception, and she bore a son. 14
And the women said to Naomi, Blessed be the LORD, which has
not left you this day without a kinsman, that his name may
be famous in Israel.
2 Sam 7:23 And what one
nation in the earth is like your people, even like Israel,
whom God went to redeem for a people to himself, and to make
him a name, and to do for you great things and terrible, for
your land, before your people, which you redeemed to you
from Egypt, from the nations and their gods? 24 For you
have confirmed to yourself your people Israel to be a people
to you for ever: and you, LORD, are become their God.
1 Ch 17:21 And what one nation in the earth is
like your people Israel, whom God went to redeem to be his
own people, to make you a name of greatness and
terribleness, by driving out nations from before your people
whom you have redeemed out of Egypt? 22 For your people
Israel did you make your own people for ever; and you, LORD,
became their God.
Job 19:25 For I know that my
redeemer lives, and that he shall stand at the latter day on
the earth: 26 And though after my skin worms destroy this
body, yet in my flesh shall I see God:
33:22 Yes, his
soul draws near to the grave, and his life to the
destroyers. 23 If there be a messenger with him, an
interpreter, one among a thousand, to show to man his
uprightness: 24 Then he is gracious to him, and said,
Deliver him from going down to the pit: I have found a
ransom. 25 His flesh shall be fresher than a child’s: he
shall return to the days of his youth:
Ps
19:14 Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my
heart, be acceptable in your sight, O LORD, my strength, and
my redeemer.
31:5 Into your hand I commit my spirit:
you have redeemed me, O LORD God of truth.
34:22 The
LORD redeems the soul of his servants: and none of them that
trust in him shall be desolate.
49:7 None of them can
by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom
for him: 8 (For the redemption of their soul is precious,
and it ceases for ever:) 9 That he should still live for
ever, and not see corruption. 15 But God will redeem my
soul from the power of the grave: for he shall receive me.
Selah.
71:23 My lips shall greatly rejoice when I
sing to you; and my soul, which you have redeemed.
74:2 Remember your congregation, which you have purchased of
old; the rod of your inheritance, which you have redeemed;
this mount Zion, wherein you have dwelled.
77:15 You
have with your arm redeemed your people, the sons of Jacob
and Joseph. Selah.
78:35 And they remembered that God
was their rock, and the high God their redeemer.
103:1 Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me,
bless his holy name. 2 Bless the LORD, O my soul, and
forget not all his benefits: 3 Who forgives all your
iniquities; who heals all your diseases; 4 Who redeems
your life from destruction; who crowns you with loving
kindness and tender mercies; 5 Who satisfies your mouth
with good things; so that your youth is renewed like the
eagle’s.
106:10 And he saved them from the hand of
him that hated them, and redeemed them from the hand of the
enemy. 11 And the waters covered their enemies: there was
not one of them left.
107:1 O give thanks to the
LORD, for he is good: for his mercy endures for ever. 2
Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom he has redeemed
from the hand of the enemy; 3 And gathered them out of
the lands, from the east, and from the west, from the north,
and from the south.
111:9 He sent redemption to his
people: he has commanded his covenant for ever: holy and
reverend is his name.
130:7 Let Israel hope in the
LORD: for with the LORD there is mercy, and with him is
plenteous redemption. 8 And he shall redeem Israel from
all his iniquities.
Pr 23:10 Remove not the
old landmark; and enter not into the fields of the
fatherless: 11 For their redeemer is mighty; he shall
plead their cause with you.
Isa 35:8 And an
highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called
The way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; but
it shall be for those: the wayfaring men, though fools,
shall not err therein. 9 No lion shall be there, nor any
ravenous beast shall go up thereon, it shall not be found
there; but the redeemed shall walk there: 10 And the
ransomed of the LORD shall return, and come to Zion with
songs and everlasting joy on their heads: they shall obtain
joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.
41:14 Fear not, you worm Jacob, and you men of Israel; I
will help you, said the LORD, and your redeemer, the Holy
One of Israel.
43:1 But now thus said the LORD that
created you, O Jacob, and he that formed you, O Israel, Fear
not: for I have redeemed you, I have called you by your
name; you are mine.
44:6 Thus said the LORD the King
of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I am the
first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God.
44:21 Remember these, O Jacob and Israel; for you are my
servant: I have formed you; you are my servant: O Israel,
you shall not be forgotten of me. 22 I have blotted out,
as a thick cloud, your transgressions, and, as a cloud, your
sins: return to me; for I have redeemed you. 23 Sing, O
you heavens; for the LORD has done it: shout, you lower
parts of the earth: break forth into singing, you mountains,
O forest, and every tree therein: for the LORD has redeemed
Jacob, and glorified himself in Israel. 24 Thus said the
LORD, your redeemer, and he that formed you from the womb, I
am the LORD that makes all things; that stretches forth the
heavens alone; that spreads abroad the earth by myself;
47:4 As for our redeemer, the LORD of hosts is his name,
the Holy One of Israel.
48:17 Thus said the LORD,
your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; I am the LORD your
God which teaches you to profit, which leads you by the way
that you should go.
49:26 And I will feed them that
oppress you with their own flesh; and they shall be drunken
with their own blood, as with sweet wine: and all flesh
shall know that I the LORD am your Savior and your Redeemer,
the mighty One of Jacob.
51:10 Are you not it which
has dried the sea, the waters of the great deep; that has
made the depths of the sea a way for the ransomed to pass
over? 11 Therefore the redeemed of the LORD shall return,
and come with singing to Zion; and everlasting joy shall be
on their head: they shall obtain gladness and joy; and
sorrow and mourning shall flee away.
52:3 For thus
said the LORD, You have sold yourselves for nothing; and you
shall be redeemed without money. 9 Break forth into joy,
sing together, you waste places of Jerusalem: for the LORD
has comforted his people, he has redeemed Jerusalem.
54:5 For your Maker is your husband; the LORD of hosts is
his name; and your Redeemer the Holy One of Israel; The God
of the whole earth shall he be called. 6 For the LORD has
called you as a woman forsaken and grieved in spirit, and a
wife of youth, when you were refused, said your God. 7
For a small moment have I forsaken you; but with great
mercies will I gather you. 8 In a little wrath I hid my
face from you for a moment; but with everlasting kindness
will I have mercy on you, said the LORD your Redeemer.
59:20 And the Redeemer shall come to Zion, and to them
that turn from transgression in Jacob, said the LORD.
62:11 Behold, the LORD has proclaimed to the end of the
world, Say you to the daughter of Zion, Behold, your
salvation comes; behold, his reward is with him, and his
work before him. 12 And they shall call them, The holy
people, The redeemed of the LORD: and you shall be called,
Sought out, A city not forsaken.
63:9 In all their
affliction he was afflicted, and the angel of his presence
saved them: in his love and in his pity he redeemed them;
and he bore them, and carried them all the days of old.
Jer 31:10 Hear the word of the LORD, O you
nations, and declare it in the isles afar off, and say, He
that scattered Israel will gather him, and keep him, as a
shepherd does his flock. 11 For the LORD has redeemed
Jacob, and ransomed him from the hand of him that was
stronger than he.
32:6 And Jeremiah said, The word of
the LORD came to me, saying, 7 Behold, Hanameel the son
of Shallum your uncle shall come to you saying, Buy you my
field that is in Anathoth: for the right of redemption is
your to buy it. 8 So Hanameel my uncle’s son came to me
in the court of the prison according to the word of the
LORD, and said to me, Buy my field, I pray you, that is in
Anathoth, which is in the country of Benjamin: for the right
of inheritance is yours, and the redemption is yours; buy it
for yourself. Then I knew that this was the word of the
LORD. 9 And I bought the field of Hanameel my uncle’s
son, that was in Anathoth, and weighed him the money, even
seventeen shekels of silver.
Hos 13:14 I will
ransom them from the power of the grave; I will redeem them
from death: O death, I will be your plagues; O grave, I will
be your destruction: repentance shall be hid from my eyes.
Mic 4:10 Be in pain, and labor to bring forth, O
daughter of Zion, like a woman in travail: for now shall you
go forth out of the city, and you shall dwell in the field,
and you shall go even to Babylon; there shall you be
delivered; there the LORD shall redeem you from the hand of
your enemies.
Salvation by grace
Acts 15:11 But we believe
that through the grace of the LORD Jesus Christ we shall be
saved, even as they.
20:24 But none of these things
move me, neither count I my life dear to myself, so that I
might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I
have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of
the grace of God. 32 And now, brothers, I commend you to
God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build
you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which
are sanctified.
Rom 3:23 For all have sinned,
and come short of the glory of God; 24 Being justified
freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ
Jesus: 25 Whom God has set forth to be a propitiation
through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for
the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance
of God;
4:4 Now to him that works is the reward not
reckoned of grace, but of debt. 5 But to him that works
not, but believes on him that justifies the ungodly, his
faith is counted for righteousness. 6 Even as David also
describes the blessedness of the man, to whom God imputes
righteousness without works, 16 Therefore it is of faith,
that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be
sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law,
but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is
the father of us all,
5:6 For when we were yet
without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.
8 But God commends his love toward us, in that, while we
were yet sinners, Christ died for us. 10 For if, when we
were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his
Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his
life.
5:5 But not as the offense, so also is the free
gift. For if through the offense of one many be dead, much
more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by
one man, Jesus Christ, has abounded to many.
11:5
Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant
according to the election of grace. 6 And if by grace,
then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more
grace. But if it be of works, then it is no more grace:
otherwise work is no more work.
11:31 Even so have
these also now not believed, that through your mercy they
also may obtain mercy.
2 Cor 1:11 You also
helping together by prayer for us, that for the gift
bestowed on us by the means of many persons thanks may be
given by many on our behalf.
Gal 1:15 But when
it pleased God, who separated me from my mother’s womb, and
called me by his grace, 16 To reveal his Son in me, that
I might preach him among the heathen; immediately I
conferred not with flesh and blood: 17 Neither went I up
to Jerusalem to them which were apostles before me; but I
went into Arabia, and returned again to Damascus.
3:18 For if the inheritance be of the law, it is no more of
promise: but God gave it to Abraham by promise.
5:4
Christ is become of no effect to you, whoever of you are
justified by the law; you are fallen from grace.
Eph 1:7 In whom we have redemption through his blood,
the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his
grace;
2:4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his
great love with which he loved us, 5 Even when we were
dead in sins, has quickened us together with Christ, (by
grace you are saved;) 8 For by grace are you saved
through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of
God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
2 Th 2:16 Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God,
even our Father, which has loved us, and has given us
everlasting consolation and good hope through grace,
1 Tim 1:12 And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has
enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into
the ministry; 13 Who was before a blasphemer, and a
persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy, because I
did it ignorantly in unbelief. 14 And the grace of our
Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and love which is in
Christ Jesus. 15 This is a faithful saying, and worthy of
all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to
save sinners; of whom I am chief. 16 However, for this
cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might
show forth all long-suffering, for a pattern to them which
should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting.
2 Tim 1:9 Who has saved us, and called us with an
holy calling, not according to our works, but according to
his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ
Jesus before the world began,
Tit 2:11 For the
grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men,
12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts,
we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this
present world;
3:4 But after that the kindness and
love of God our Savior toward man appeared, 5 Not by
works of righteousness which we have done, but according to
his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and
renewing of the Holy Ghost; 6 Which he shed on us
abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior; 7 That being
justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to
the hope of eternal life.
1 Pe 1:9 Receiving
the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.
10 Of which salvation the prophets have inquired and
searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should
come to you: 11 Searching what, or what manner of time
the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it
testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory
that should follow.
Salvation in Jesus
Mt 1:21 And she shall bring forth a son, and you
shall call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from
their sins.
Lu 19:9 And Jesus said to him,
This day is salvation come to this house, as much as he also
is a son of Abraham. 10 For the Son of man is come to
seek and to save that which was lost.
24:46 And said
to them, Thus it is written, and thus it behooved Christ to
suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: 47 And
that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in
his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. 48
And you are witnesses of these things.
Joh
3:14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness,
even so must the Son of man be lifted up: 15 That whoever
believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only
begotten Son, that whoever believes in him should not
perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not
his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the
world through him might be saved.
4:41 And many more
believed because of his own word; 42 And said to the
woman, Now we believe, not because of your saying: for we
have heard him ourselves, and know that this is indeed the
Christ, the Savior of the world.
5:39 Search the
scriptures; for in them you think you have eternal life: and
they are they which testify of me. 40 And you will not
come to me, that you might have life.
10:9 I am the
door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and
shall go in and out, and find pasture.
14:6 Jesus
said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man
comes to the Father, but by me.
Acts 4:11 This
is the stone which was set at nothing of you builders, which
is become the head of the corner. 12 Neither is there
salvation in any other: for there is none other name under
heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
8:5
Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and preached
Christ to them.
15:11 But we believe that through the
grace of the LORD Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as
they.
Rom 5:8 But God commends his love toward
us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall
be saved from wrath through him.
1 Cor 1:17
For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel:
not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be
made of none effect. 18 For the preaching of the cross is
to them that perish foolishness; but to us which are saved
it is the power of God.
1:23 But we preach Christ
crucified, to the Jews a stumbling block, and to the Greeks
foolishness; 24 But to them which are called, both Jews
and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.
3:11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is
laid, which is Jesus Christ.
Gal 1:3 Grace be
to you and peace from God the Father, and from our Lord
Jesus Christ, 4 Who gave himself for our sins, that he
might deliver us from this present evil world, according to
the will of God and our Father:
Eph 1:7 In
whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness
of sins, according to the riches of his grace;
Col
1:14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the
forgiveness of sins:
1 Th 1:10 And to wait for
his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even
Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.
5:9
For God has not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain
salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, 10 Who died for us,
that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with
him.
1 Tim 1:15 This is a faithful saying, and
worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the
world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.
2 Tim
2:10 Therefore I endure all things for the elect’s sakes,
that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ
Jesus with eternal glory.
Heb 2:10 For it
became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all
things, in bringing many sons to glory, to make the captain
of their salvation perfect through sufferings.
5:8
Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things
which he suffered; 9 And being made perfect, he became
the author of eternal salvation to all them that obey him;
10 Called of God an high priest after the order of
Melchisedec.
7:24 But this man, because he continues
ever, has an unchangeable priesthood. 25 Why he is able
also to save them to the uttermost that come to God by him,
seeing he ever lives to make intercession for them.
Rev 7:10
And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God
which sits on the throne, and to the Lamb.
Sins forgiven through Jesus
Acts
10:43 To him give all the prophets witness, that through his
name whoever believes in him shall receive remission of
sins.
13:38 Be it known to you therefore, men and
brothers, that through this man is preached to you the
forgiveness of sins: 39 And by him all that believe are
justified from all things, from which you could not be
justified by the law of Moses.
Eph 1:7 In whom
we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of
sins, according to the riches of his grace;
Col
1:14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the
forgiveness of sins:
Salvation is a gift
Joh 4:10 Jesus answered and
said to her, If you knew the gift of God, and who it is that
said to you, Give me to drink; you would have asked of him,
and he would have given you living water. 11 The woman
said to him, Sir, you have nothing to draw with, and the
well is deep: from where then have you that living water?
12 Are you greater than our father Jacob, which gave us the
well, and drank thereof himself, and his children, and his
cattle? 13 Jesus answered and said to her, Whoever drinks
of this water shall thirst again: 14 But whoever drinks
of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but
the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of
water springing up into everlasting life.
Rom
3:24 Being justified freely by his grace through the
redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
6:23 For the
wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Eph 2:8 For by
grace are you saved through faith; and that not of
yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest
any man should boast.
Rev 21:6 And he said to
me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the
end. I will give to him that is thirsty of the fountain of
the water of life freely.
22:17 And the Spirit and
the bride say, Come. And let him that hears say, Come. And
let him that is thirsty come. And whoever will, let him take
the water of life freely.
Isa 55:1 Ho, every
one that thirsts, come you to the waters, and he that has no
money; come you, buy, and eat; yes, come, buy wine and milk
without money and without price. 2 Why do you spend money
for that which is not bread? and your labor for that which
satisfies not? listen diligently to me, and eat you that
which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness.
3 Incline your ear, and come to me: hear, and your soul
shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with
you, even the sure mercies of David.
Atonement
Rom 5:1
Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God
through our Lord Jesus Christ:
5:6
For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ
died for the ungodly. 7 For scarcely for a righteous man
will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would
even dare to die. 8 But God commends his love toward us,
in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. 9
Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall
be saved from wrath through him. 10 For if, when we were
enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son,
much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.
11 And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord
Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.
2 Cor 5:18
And all things are of God, who has reconciled us to himself
by Jesus Christ, and has given to us the ministry of
reconciliation; 19 To wit, that God was in Christ,
reconciling the world to himself, not imputing their
trespasses to them; and has committed to us the word of
reconciliation. 20 Now then we are ambassadors for
Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in
Christ’s stead, be you reconciled to God. 21 For he has
made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be
made the righteousness of God in him.
Eph 2:14
For he is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken
down the middle wall of partition between us; 15 Having
abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of
commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself
of two one new man, so making peace; 16 And that he might
reconcile both to God in one body by the cross, having slain
the enmity thereby: 17 And came and preached peace to you
which were afar off, and to them that were near. 18 For
through him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father.
Col 1:19
For it pleased the Father that in him should all fullness
dwell; 20 And, having made peace through the blood of his
cross, by him to reconcile all things to himself; by him, I
say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.
21 And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your
mind by wicked works, yet now has he reconciled 22 In the
body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and
blameless and unreproveable in his sight:
1 Th 1:10
And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the
dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.
Heb 2:16
For truly he took not on him the nature of angels; but he
took on him the seed of Abraham. 17 Why in all things it
behooved him to be made like to his brothers, that he might
be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining
to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.
18 For in that he himself has suffered being tempted, he is
able to succor them that are tempted.
13:11 For the
bodies of those beasts, whose blood is brought into the
sanctuary by the high priest for sin, are burned without the
camp. 12 Why Jesus also, that he might sanctify the
people with his own blood, suffered without the gate.
1 Joh 2:1
My little children, these things write I to you, that you
sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the
Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: 2 And he is the
propitiation for our sins: and not for our’s only, but also
for the sins of the whole world.
4:9
In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because
that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we
might live through him. 10 Herein is love, not that we
loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the
propitiation for our sins.
Lev 1:3 If
his offering be a burnt sacrifice of the herd, let him offer
a male without blemish: he shall offer it of his own
voluntary will at the door of the tabernacle of the
congregation before the LORD. 4 And he shall put his hand
on the head of the burnt offering; and it shall be accepted
for him to make atonement for him.
4:32
And if he bring a lamb for a sin offering, he shall bring it
a female without blemish. 33 And he shall lay his hand on
the head of the sin offering, and slay it for a sin offering
in the place where they kill the burnt offering. 34 And
the priest shall take of the blood of the sin offering with
his finger, and put it on the horns of the altar of burnt
offering, and shall pour out all the blood thereof at the
bottom of the altar: 35 And he shall take away all the
fat thereof, as the fat of the lamb is taken away from the
sacrifice of the peace offerings; and the priest shall burn
them on the altar, according to the offerings made by fire
to the LORD: and the priest shall make an atonement for his
sin that he has committed, and it shall be forgiven him.
6:6
And he shall bring his trespass offering to the LORD, a ram
without blemish out of the flock, with your estimation, for
a trespass offering, to the priest: 7 And the priest
shall make an atonement for him before the LORD: and it
shall be forgiven him for any thing of all that he has done
in trespassing therein.
9:7
And Moses said to Aaron, Go to the altar, and offer your sin
offering, and your burnt offering, and make an atonement for
yourself, and for the people: and offer the offering of the
people, and make an atonement for them; as the LORD
commanded. 8 Aaron therefore went to the altar, and slew
the calf of the sin offering, which was for himself. 9
And the sons of Aaron brought the blood to him: and he
dipped his finger in the blood, and put it on the horns of
the altar, and poured out the blood at the bottom of the
altar:
10:17 Why have you
not eaten the sin offering in the holy place, seeing it is
most holy, and God has given it you to bear the iniquity of
the congregation, to make atonement for them before the
LORD?
16:29 And this
shall be a statute for ever to you: that in the seventh
month, on the tenth day of the month, you shall afflict your
souls, and do no work at all, whether it be one of your own
country, or a stranger that sojournes among you: 30 For
on that day shall the priest make an atonement for you, to
cleanse you, that you may be clean from all your sins before
the LORD. 34 And this shall be an everlasting statute to
you, to make an atonement for the children of Israel for all
their sins once a year. And he did as the LORD commanded
Moses.
17:10 And whatever
man there be of the house of Israel, or of the strangers
that sojourn among you, that eats any manner of blood; I
will even set my face against that soul that eats blood, and
will cut him off from among his people. 11 For the life
of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you on
the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the
blood that makes an atonement for the soul.
23:26 And the LORD
spoke to Moses, saying, 27 Also on the tenth day of this
seventh month there shall be a day of atonement: it shall be
an holy convocation to you; and you shall afflict your
souls, and offer an offering made by fire to the LORD. 28
And you shall do no work in that same day: for it is a day
of atonement, to make an atonement for you before the LORD
your God.
Num 8:19
And I have given the Levites as a gift to Aaron and to his
sons from among the children of Israel, to do the service of
the children of Israel in the tabernacle of the
congregation, and to make an atonement for the children of
Israel: that there be no plague among the children of
Israel, when the children of Israel come near to the
sanctuary.
16:42 And it came
to pass, when the congregation was gathered against Moses
and against Aaron, that they looked toward the tabernacle of
the congregation: and, behold, the cloud covered it, and the
glory of the LORD appeared. 43 And Moses and Aaron came
before the tabernacle of the congregation. 44 And the
LORD spoke to Moses, saying, 45 Get you up from among
this congregation, that I may consume them as in a moment.
And they fell on their faces. 46 And Moses said to Aaron,
Take a censer, and put fire therein from off the altar, and
put on incense, and go quickly to the congregation, and make
an atonement for them: for there is wrath gone out from the
LORD; the plague is begun. 47 And Aaron took as Moses
commanded, and ran into the middle of the congregation; and,
behold, the plague was begun among the people: and he put on
incense, and made an atonement for the people. 48 And he
stood between the dead and the living; and the plague was
stayed.
28:22 And one goat
for a sin offering, to make an atonement for you.
35:3 So you shall
not pollute the land wherein you are: for blood it defiles
the land: and the land cannot be cleansed of the blood that
is shed therein, but by the blood of him that shed it.
34 Defile not therefore the land which you shall inhabit,
wherein I dwell: for I the LORD dwell among the children of
Israel.
Ps 49:7
None of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give
to God a ransom for him: 8 (For the redemption of their
soul is precious, and it ceases for ever:) 9 That he
should still live for ever, and not see corruption.
Dan 9:24
Seventy weeks are determined on your people and on your holy
city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of
sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring
in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and
prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy. 26 And after three
score and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for
himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall
destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof
shall be with a flood, and to the end of the war desolations
are determined.
Election
Mt 22:11
And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a
man which had not on a wedding garment: 12 And he said to
him, Friend, how came you in here not having a wedding
garment? And he was speechless. 13 Then said the king to
the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and
cast him into outer darkness, there shall be weeping and
gnashing of teeth. 14 For many are called, but few are
chosen.
24:22 And except
those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be
saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be
shortened. 23 Then if any man shall say to you, See, here
is Christ, or there; believe it not. 24 For there shall
arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall show
great signs and wonders; so that, if it were possible, they
shall deceive the very elect. 31 And he shall send his
angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall
gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end
of heaven to the other.
Lu 6:12 And
it came to pass in those days, that he went out into a
mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God.
13 And when it was day, he called to him his disciples: and
of them he chose twelve, whom also he named apostles;
18:6 And the Lord
said, Hear what the unjust judge said. 7 And shall not
God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night to him,
though he bear long with them?
23:35 And the
people stood beholding. And the rulers also with them
derided him, saying, He saved others; let him save himself,
if he be Christ, the chosen of God.
Joh 6:28
Then said they to him, What shall we do, that we might work
the works of God? 29 Jesus answered and said to them,
This is the work of God, that you believe on him whom he has
sent.
6:44
No man can come to me, except the Father which has sent me
draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.
6:64
But there are some of you that believe not. For Jesus knew
from the beginning who they were that believed not, and who
should betray him. 65 And he said, Therefore said I to
you, that no man can come to me, except it were given to him
of my Father. 66 From that time many of his disciples
went back, and walked no more with him. 67 Then said
Jesus to the twelve, Will you also go away? 68 Then Simon
Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? you have the
words of eternal life. 69 And we believe and are sure
that you are that Christ, the Son of the living God. 70
Jesus answered them, Have not I chosen you twelve, and one
of you is a devil? 71 He spoke of Judas Iscariot the son
of Simon: for he it was that should betray him, being one of
the twelve.
13:18 I speak not
of you all: I know whom I have chosen: but that the
scripture may be fulfilled, He that eats bread with me has
lifted up his heel against me. 19 Now I tell you before
it come, that, when it is come to pass, you may believe that
I am he.
15:16 You have not
chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that you
should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should
remain: that whatever you shall ask of the Father in my
name, he may give it you.
19 If you were of the
world, the world would love his own: but because you are not
of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world,
therefore the world hates you.
17:1 These words
spoke Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said,
Father, the hour is come; glorify your Son, that your Son
also may glorify you: 2 As you have given him power over
all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as
you have given him. 3 And this is life eternal, that they
might know you the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you
have sent. 6 I have manifested your name to the men which
you gave me out of the world: your they were, and you gave
them me; and they have kept your word. 7 Now they have
known that all things whatever you have given me are of you.
8 For I have given to them the words which you gave me; and
they have received them, and have known surely that I came
out from you, and they have believed that you did send me.
9 I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them
which you have given me; for they are yours. 10 And all
my are yours, and your are mine; and I am glorified in them.
18:7 Then asked he
them again, Whom seek you? And they said, Jesus of Nazareth.
8 Jesus answered, I have told you that I am he: if therefore
you seek me, let these go their way: 9 That the saying
might be fulfilled, which he spoke, Of them which you gave
me have I lost none.
Ac 9:15 But
the Lord said to him, Go your way: for he is a chosen vessel
to me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and
the children of Israel: 16 For I will show him how great
things he must suffer for my name’s sake.
10:40 Him God
raised up the third day, and showed him openly; 41 Not to
all the people, but to witnesses chosen before God, even to
us, who did eat and drink with him after he rose from the
dead.
13:46 Then Paul
and Barnabas waxed bold, and said, It was necessary that the
word of God should first have been spoken to you: but seeing
you put it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of
everlasting life, see, we turn to the Gentiles. 47 For so
has the Lord commanded us, saying, I have set you to be a
light of the Gentiles, that you should be for salvation to
the ends of the earth. 48 And when the Gentiles heard
this, they were glad, and glorified the word of the Lord:
and as many as were ordained to eternal life believed.
15:13 And after
they had held their peace, James answered, saying, Men and
brothers, listen to me: 14 Simeon has declared how God at
the first did visit the Gentiles, to take out of them a
people for his name. 15 And to this agree the words of
the prophets; as it is written, 16 After this I will
return, and will build again the tabernacle of David, which
is fallen down; and I will build again the ruins thereof,
and I will set it up: 17 That the residue of men might
seek after the Lord, and all the Gentiles, on whom my name
is called, said the Lord, who does all these things. 18
Known to God are all his works from the beginning of the
world.
22:12 And one
Ananias, a devout man according to the law, having a good
report of all the Jews which dwelled there, 13 Came to
me, and stood, and said to me, Brother Saul, receive your
sight. And the same hour I looked up on him. 14 And he
said, The God of our fathers has chosen you, that you should
know his will, and see that Just One, and should hear the
voice of his mouth. 15 For you shall be his witness to
all men of what you have seen and heard.
Rom 8:28
And we know that all things work together for good to them
that love God, to them who are the called according to his
purpose. 29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did
predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that
he might be the firstborn among many brothers. 30
Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and
whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he
justified, them he also glorified. 31 What shall we then
say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against
us?
8:33
Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God’s elect? It is
God that justifies.
9:9
For this is the word of promise, At this time will I come,
and Sarah shall have a son. 10 And not only this; but
when Rebecca also had conceived by one, even by our father
Isaac; 11 (For the children being not yet born, neither
having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God
according to election might stand, not of works, but of him
that calls;) 12 It was said to her, The elder shall serve
the younger. 13 As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but
Esau have I hated. 14 What shall we say then? Is there
unrighteousness with God? God forbid. 15 For he said to
Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I
will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. 16
So then it is not of him that wills, nor of him that runs,
but of God that shows mercy. 17 For the scripture said to
Pharaoh, Even for this same purpose have I raised you up,
that I might show my power in you, and that my name might be
declared throughout all the earth. 18 Therefore has he
mercy on whom he will have mercy, and whom he will he
hardens.
9:19
You will say then to me, Why does he yet find fault? For who
has resisted his will? 20 No but, O man, who are you that
reply against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that
formed it, Why have you made me thus? 21 Has not the
potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one
vessel to honor, and another to dishonor? 22 What if God,
willing to show his wrath, and to make his power known,
endured with much long-suffering the vessels of wrath fitted
to destruction: 23 And that he might make known the
riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had
before prepared to glory, 24 Even us, whom he has called,
not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles?
11:1 I say then,
Has God cast away his people? God forbid. For I also am an
Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin.
2 God has not cast away his people which he foreknew. Know
you not what the scripture said of Elias? how he makes
intercession to God against Israel saying, 3 Lord, they
have killed your prophets, and dig down your altars; and I
am left alone, and they seek my life. 4 But what said the
answer of God to him? I have reserved to myself seven
thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to the image of
Baal. 5 Even so then at this present time also there is a
remnant according to the election of grace. 6 And if by
grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no
more grace. But if it be of works, then it is no more grace:
otherwise work is no more work. 7 What then? Israel has
not obtained that which he seeks for; but the election has
obtained it, and the rest were blinded. 8 (According as
it is written, God has given them the spirit of slumber,
eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not
hear;) to this day.
11:28 As
concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: but
as touching the election, they are beloved for the father’s
sakes. 29 For the gifts and calling of God are without
repentance.
12:3 For I say,
through the grace given to me, to every man that is among
you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to
think; but to think soberly, according as God has dealt to
every man the measure of faith.
16:13 Salute Rufus
chosen in the Lord, and his mother and mine.
1 Cor 1:26
For you see your calling, brothers, how that not many wise
men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are
called: 27 But God has chosen the foolish things of the
world to confound the wise; and God has chosen the weak
things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;
28 And base things of the world, and things which are
despised, has God chosen, yes, and things which are not, to
bring to nothing things that are: 29 That no flesh should
glory in his presence.
Gal 1:15
But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother’s
womb, and called me by his grace, 16 To reveal his Son in
me, that I might preach him among the heathen; immediately I
conferred not with flesh and blood:
Eph 1:3
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who
has blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly
places in Christ: 4 According as he has chosen us in him
before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy
and without blame before him in love: 5 Having
predestinated us to the adoption of children by Jesus Christ
to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, 6
To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he has made
us accepted in the beloved. 7 In whom we have redemption
through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the
riches of his grace;
1:11
In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being
predestinated according to the purpose of him who works all
things after the counsel of his own will: 12 That we
should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in
Christ. 13 In whom you also trusted, after that you heard
the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom
also after that you believed, you were sealed with that holy
Spirit of promise, 14 Which is the earnest of our
inheritance until the redemption of the purchased
possession, to the praise of his glory.
Php 1:6
Being confident of this very thing, that he which has begun
a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus
Christ:
Col 3:12
Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved,
bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness,
long-suffering;
1 Th 1:4
Knowing, brothers beloved, your election of God. 5 For
our gospel came not to you in word only, but also in power,
and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as you know
what manner of men we were among you for your sake. 6 And
you became followers of us, and of the Lord, having received
the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Ghost.
7 So that you were ensamples to all that believe in
Macedonia and Achaia.
2 Th 2:13
But we are bound to give thanks always to God for you,
brothers beloved of the Lord, because God has from the
beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of
the Spirit and belief of the truth:
1 Tim 5:20
Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear.
21 I charge you before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, and
the elect angels, that you observe these things without
preferring one before another, doing nothing by partiality.
2 Tim 1:9
Who has saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not
according to our works, but according to his own purpose and
grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world
began, 10 But is now made manifest by the appearing of
our Savior Jesus Christ, who has abolished death, and has
brought life and immortality to light through the gospel:
2:10
Therefore I endure all things for the elect’s sakes, that
they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus
with eternal glory.
Tit 1:1
Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ,
according to the faith of God’s elect, and the acknowledging
of the truth which is after godliness;
Heb 12:2
Looking to Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who
for the joy that was set before him endured the cross,
despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of
the throne of God.
Jas 2:5
Listen, my beloved brothers, Has not God chosen the poor of
this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he
has promised to them that love him?
2:9
But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy
nation, a peculiar people; that you should show forth the
praises of him who has called you out of darkness into his
marvelous light; 10 Which in time past were not a people,
but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy,
but now have obtained mercy.
5:13
The church that is at Babylon, elected together with you,
salutes you; and so does Marcus my son.
2 Pe 1:1
Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to
them that have obtained like precious faith with us through
the righteousness of God and our Savior Jesus Christ:
1:10
Why the rather, brothers, give diligence to make your
calling and election sure: for if you do these things, you
shall never fall: 11 For so an entrance shall be
ministered to you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of
our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Rev 17:13
These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength
to the beast. 14 These shall make war with the Lamb, and
the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and
King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and
chosen, and faithful.
Gen 18:17
And the LORD said, Shall I hide from Abraham that thing
which I do; 18 Seeing that Abraham shall surely become a
great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth
shall be blessed in him? 19 For I know him, that he will
command his children and his household after him, and they
shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgment;
that the LORD may bring on Abraham that which he has spoken
of him.
De 7:6 For
you are an holy people to the LORD your God: the LORD your
God has chosen you to be a special people to himself, above
all people that are on the face of the earth. 7 The LORD
did not set his love on you, nor choose you, because you
were more in number than any people; for you were the fewest
of all people: 8 But because the LORD loved you, and
because he would keep the oath which he had sworn to your
fathers, has the LORD brought you out with a mighty hand,
and redeemed you out of the house of slaves, from the hand
of Pharaoh king of Egypt. 9 Know therefore that the LORD
your God, he is God, the faithful God, which keeps covenant
and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments
to a thousand generations;
14:1 You are the
children of the LORD your God: you shall not cut yourselves,
nor make any baldness between your eyes for the dead. 2
For you are an holy people to the LORD your God, and the
LORD has chosen you to be a peculiar people to himself,
above all the nations that are on the earth.
21:5 And the
priests the sons of Levi shall come near; for them the LORD
your God has chosen to minister to him, and to bless in the
name of the LORD; and by their word shall every controversy
and every stroke be tried:
Neh 9:7 You
are the LORD the God, who did choose Abram, and brought him
forth out of Ur of the Chaldees, and gave him the name of
Abraham;
Ps 33:12
Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD; and the people
whom he has chosen for his own inheritance.
65:3 Iniquities
prevail against me: as for our transgressions, you shall
purge them away. 4 Blessed is the man whom you choose,
and cause to approach to you, that he may dwell in your
courts: we shall be satisfied with the goodness of your
house, even of your holy temple.
105:5 Remember his
marvelous works that he has done; his wonders, and the
judgments of his mouth; 6 O you seed of Abraham his
servant, you children of Jacob his chosen. 43 And he
brought forth his people with joy, and his chosen with
gladness:
135:3 Praise the
LORD; for the LORD is good: sing praises to his name; for it
is pleasant. 4 For the LORD has chosen Jacob to himself,
and Israel for his peculiar treasure.
Isa 41:8
But you, Israel, are my servant, Jacob whom I have chosen,
the seed of Abraham my friend. 9 You whom I have taken
from the ends of the earth, and called you from the chief
men thereof, and said to you, You are my servant; I have
chosen you, and not cast you away. 10 Fear you not; for I
am with you: be not dismayed; for I am your God: I will
strengthen you; yes, I will help you; yes, I will uphold you
with the right hand of my righteousness. 11 Behold, all
they that were incensed against you shall be ashamed and
confounded: they shall be as nothing; and they that strive
with you shall perish. 12 You shall seek them, and shall
not find them, even them that contended with you: they that
war against you shall be as nothing, and as a thing of
nothing. 13 For I the LORD your God will hold your right
hand, saying to you, Fear not; I will help you. 14 Fear
not, you worm Jacob, and you men of Israel; I will help you,
said the LORD, and your redeemer, the Holy One of Israel.
44:1 Yet now hear,
O Jacob my servant; and Israel, whom I have chosen: 2
Thus said the LORD that made you, and formed you from the
womb, which will help you; Fear not, O Jacob, my servant;
and you, Jesurun, whom I have chosen.
45:4 For Jacob my
servant’s sake, and Israel my elect, I have even called you
by your name: I have surnamed you, though you have not known
me.
65:9 And I will
bring forth a seed out of Jacob, and out of Judah an
inheritor of my mountains: and my elect shall inherit it,
and my servants shall dwell there.
